Divorce Revenge System: Knowing the Future in Advance-Chapter 888 - 656: World-Famous Painting
It’s raining, and fine strands of rain are falling from the sky.
Even though this is a high terrain that overlooks a bunch of old houses, the lighting is dim, and visibility is still low.
The ground is wet, reflecting the blurry sky light.
"Alright then." Jiang Nian sighed.
The two girls planned to change clothes in the red pavilion, blocking all angles with three umbrellas. Even if you stared, you wouldn’t see anything.
Do we really need to turn around for this?
Of course, it might also be because they’re afraid Jiang Nian might imagine things.
After all, sensory stimulation involves more than just sight. There’s also the sound of rustling, and some directional movements.
Like when taking off clothes, you have to bend over.
The greatest strength of a young boy is, undoubtedly, his unparalleled imagination.
"What are you laughing at?" Yao Beibei asked.
"What?"
Jiang Nian felt a bit awkward and thought to himself, why did I laugh out loud, "Did I laugh? I don’t think so, you must have seen wrong."
A triple denial, executed with mastery.
"Hmph, pervert." Zhang Ningzhi rolled her eyes at him but didn’t really mind since the umbrellas weren’t see-through.
There was no one around, and the three umbrellas formed a perfect waterproof enclosure.
"You’re not allowed to peek, okay?"
"Who wants to look?" Jiang Nian scoffed, with a hint of unease in his tone, "I’m just trying to help you eliminate potential hazards."
Yao Beibei was rummaging through her bag and tote, the photoshoot clothes were all in there, and she turned to point at him.
"You’re the biggest potential hazard."
That’s true; after all, Jiang Nian was the only male within a hundred-meter radius, but he wasn’t exactly a gentleman.
Under the umbrellas that surrounded them on three sides, the two girls had already taken turns changing clothes, all high school prohibited outfits.
Knee-length skirts, and there were even white long socks.
Jiang Nian watched in a daze and couldn’t help but ask, "Wait, when did you bring the clothes?"
"In the afternoon," Zhang Ningzhi replied with some jealousy, "You were busy with your exam sheets at that time and didn’t notice."
Well, that could be something to be jealous about, too.
Sweetie, you’re more difficult to solve than the test papers, alright?
"Alright then, let’s start shooting." Jiang Nian shifted the topic, "We haven’t eaten yet, so you’ll cover the bill later."
"Got it, little photographer."
Hey, call me Teacher Jiang.
Just when he wanted to say something more, he suddenly realized these two... really had a carefree demeanor, in that moment he was a bit dazed.
"Hmm?" Zhang Ningzhi saw him spaced out.
"What’s wrong?"
"Nothing." Jiang Nian lowered his head to adjust the equipment, casually searching for the best light source, "Let’s take a shot first."
The two girls started discussing poses and, after some playful banter, Zhang Ningzhi and Yao Beibei decided to pose together, forming a heart with one hand from each of them.
"You can start now."
"Oh." Jiang Nian finished adjusting the parameters, becoming a cold, unfeeling photography machine, raising his hand to snap the picture.
After he finished, Yao Beibei ran over.
"You didn’t take any random shots, right?"
"Haha." Jiang Nian handed over the camera to her, showing her that the composition and lighting were nothing short of perfect.
"Sorry, I was barking like a dog." Yao Beibei clasped her hands together in apology, being both flexible and adaptable, before running back.
"He’s very reliable," Zhang Ningzhi said.
Yao Beibei replied, "He’s okay."
Jiang Nian couldn’t be bothered to argue, as there wasn’t much time to fool around. Taking advantage of the overcast day, he captured a few sets of photos featuring the county’s scenery.
Occasionally, some perks could be seen in the frames.
After everything was finished, Jiang Nian leaned to the side, playing with his phone.
Zhang Ningzhi and Yao Beibei gathered together to look at the photos, chatting excitedly and chirping away.
As long as they change back into their original clothes, everything will be over.
However, voices came from the bottom of the stairs. A group of people, talking louder and closer, obviously intending to come up.
The two girls’ expressions changed immediately since they were still in skirts.
Actually, it wasn’t much of an issue, as the skirts only exposed the calves. Unless they bent over ninety degrees, they wouldn’t reveal too much.
Even so, the two girls were a bit flustered.
"Someone’s coming!"
"What do we do?"
Jiang Nian turned his head and discovered Zhizhi and Huang Beibei both looking at him.
"Hmm?"
"We haven’t changed clothes yet," Zhang Ningzhi said anxiously, "Is there anywhere we can hide?"
"Probably only the cracks in the ground," Yao Beibei joked.
Jiang Nian scratched his face, starting to direct them with the path of a sage.
"There’s a small path over there."
The red pavilion was built on a small hill; one side had stairs leading up, while the other was wooded, leaving only a stone path.
"Let’s go!"
"Go!"
The two girls didn’t hesitate, grabbing the umbrellas and bags, with no time to think, they pulled Jiang Nian along and headed down the stone path.
The moment they descended, a group came up from the other side.
Hearing the voices, Zhang Ningzhi and Yao Beibei couldn’t resist glancing back, letting out a sigh of relief instinctively.
The three exchanged a look and couldn’t help but laugh.
"Where will you change back?" Jiang Nian brought up the crucial question first, as the mountain path was wet everywhere.
If they went down, they might encounter more people, effectively blocking both sides.
"This..." Zhang Ningzhi hesitated.
"Just change along the way," Yao Beibei said, "Find a dry spot on the road, and quickly change."
Jiang Nian signaled an OK hand gesture and walked ahead of the two girls.
"Sure."
The path down was much longer than the stairs up, partly because the route was winding, and the stone slabs were slippery.
"Whoa, a snake....."
"Ah!!!" The two girls screamed at once, shrinking behind Jiang Nian, "Where? Where?"
Jiang Nian could just feel something peach-like soft pressing against his back.
"It’s just a branch that looks like a snake."
"You’re getting it!" Zhang Ningzhi’s face turned red with anger, unable to resist hitting him a couple of times, "Not talking to you anymore!"
Yao Beibei was much calmer; as long as it wasn’t a snake, she was okay.
She turned her head to look around and suddenly saw a clear area. Her face instantly lit up with joy.’
"There’s a clearing over there."
With the sky growing darker, Jiang Nian looked in the direction Yao Beibei pointed, squinting his eyes, and said.
"Let’s change to a different place."
