Chapter 99: Chapter 99: Don’t Be Afraid

"Tristan..." she called out, her voice trembling as she grabbed his clothes.

"Hm?" Tristan Grayson noticed his parents weren’t in the living room and guessed they must be in the courtyard. He was about to take her out for dinner, but before he could even take a step, she grabbed his clothes.

"I... I... can we... can we not be here tonight...?"

Seeing how frightened she was, Tristan Grayson frowned and followed her gaze. Only then did he understand what she was afraid of. He reached out, pulled her into his arms, and asked softly, "Scared?"

"Mmm..." Mika Summers nodded, burrowing into his embrace, not daring to look up.

Tristan Grayson’s handsome eyes fixed on her. "Don’t be afraid," he said, his voice a low, roguish murmur. "If Grandma knew what we were up to, she’d be thrilled."

Tristan’s bold words sent a shiver through Mika Summers.

’He’s still joking at a time like this?’

Tristan Grayson couldn’t help but let out a laugh. ’She’s actually quite cute... even cuter than she is in bed.’ 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

At that thought, he smiled again and rested a hand on her head. "If you’re scared, just stay put and don’t move." With that, he put his arm around her and walked toward the front door.

Mika Summers nodded obediently, pressing close against Tristan Grayson’s side, not daring to open her eyes.

There were many people in the Grayson family’s courtyard. When they saw Tristan Grayson emerge, many of them started to come forward and greet him, but he stopped them with a raised hand.

Tristan Grayson had no desire to be disturbed while he was with her. Besides, the people outside were all his parents’ friends. He had no obligation to entertain them.

When Mae Lynch saw this, she grinned from ear to ear. She quickly shot Caleb Grayson a meaningful look, and together they steered away the guests who had been about to greet their son.

His expression impassive, Tristan Grayson led her out of the Grayson estate. He opened the car door and bent down to lift her inside.

Mika Summers only opened her eyes once she was settled in the car. She turned to look at Tristan Grayson and asked in confusion, "Where are we going?"

"Dinner." Tristan Grayson got in the car, tossing out the single word before starting the engine and driving away.

’Dinner?’ Mika Summers glanced down at her watch. It was already eleven o’clock at night. To get a meal, they would have to go into the city. But they were in Meriside, which was at least an hour from the city. Of course, if Tristan Grayson drove like a madman, they could probably make it in half an hour. But after experiencing his driving firsthand last night, she had no desire for a repeat performance.

"Is anywhere even open for dinner at this hour? Why don’t we just go home? I can cook for you."

Hearing her words, Tristan Grayson laughed again. "Me? Tristan Grayson? Let my woman go hungry?"

’Me? Tristan Grayson? Let my woman go hungry?’ His words were so direct, so domineering. Her heart suddenly began to race, and she felt an incredible, wonderful bliss, as if she’d been swept up to heaven.

Seeing her staring at him again in a silent daze, Tristan Grayson felt his mood soar. He’d never felt this good before.

「Twenty minutes later.」

They arrived at a hotel not far from the villa district. Its decor was exceptionally luxurious and tasteful. Mika Summers had never seen a place like it in her life. She was momentarily stunned and didn’t snap out of her daze until Tristan Grayson led her into a private VIP dining room.

She sat across from him, looking at Tristan Grayson with a complex gaze.

’What’s gotten into him? Why is he suddenly being so nice to me?’
