Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me-Chapter 39: Bear Me a Child
Just as she thought she might suffocate to death, he suddenly released her.
He buried his head deep into her shoulder, silent, as if he weren’t the one who had just lost his mind.
Her heart pounded in her chest. She had already resolved to forget him, to cut all ties with him for good. Yet, in this single moment, he had thrown her heart into turmoil once more.
She was afraid. So afraid. If Tristan kept tormenting her like this, she would completely break down. She had never been a strong person, nor was she someone who could move on or let things go at will.
’He was her dream! The man she could only ever admire from afar!’
With her last shred of reason and the last ounce of her strength, she pushed Tristan off her.
Her eyes rimmed with red, she didn’t wait for Tristan to react. She hastily straightened her clothes and sat up on the bed. "I’ll forget about what happened today..." With that, she made to leave the room, to get away from Tristan Grayson.
Just as she was getting off the bed, a hand suddenly grabbed her arm.
Tristan Grayson’s eyes were red. He drew close and pulled her into his arms. "Give me a child," he said, his voice flat and devoid of emotion.
The words hit her like a clap of thunder, and Mika Summers froze in place.
The words echoed endlessly in her mind.
’Give me a child.’
’Give me a child.’
’Give me a child.’
...
She had fantasized countless times about having a child with Tristan, about the three of them living a happy life together.
However, that was something that could only ever happen in her dreams.
She knew perfectly well that she wasn’t the one Tristan Grayson loved. He had hated her from the very day they were married.
What she didn’t understand, though, was why. He was the one who had dragged her into his life, only to end up hating her, verbally humiliating her time and time again.
But none of that mattered anymore.
Because he had asked her to give him a child.
’Does this mean he wants to build a future with me?’
When she didn’t react, Tristan Grayson let out a scornful laugh. He stepped forward, bent down, and swept her into his arms.
He carried her into the bathroom and set her down in the bathtub. "I’ll be waiting outside," he said.
With that, he left the bathroom.
Mika Summers stared at the door where Tristan had disappeared, her expression growing increasingly bewildered.
It wasn’t that she didn’t understand the meaning behind his words.
But now that the day she had long awaited had finally arrived, she felt dazed and uneasy. It all felt as unreal as a dream.
She climbed out of the tub and removed her clothes, piece by piece. In a daze, she turned on the shower, letting the icy water cascade down over her head.
After a long while, a violent shiver wracked her body, shocking her back to her senses.
The October air, while not frigid, wasn’t exactly warm either.
Mika Summers quickly adjusted the water temperature. A faint smile touched her lips, but tears streamed uncontrollably down her cheeks.
’I don’t care if Tristan is sincere or just toying with me,’ she thought. ’I’m going to be selfish just this once. Just this once is enough! If he regrets this afterward, I’ll leave. I swear I will. I absolutely won’t cling to him. I will never, ever bother him again.’
