Divine Doctor and His CEO Wife-Chapter 25 Divine Doctor Li
Zhang Yaqing giggled, her breath warm as she whispered into his ear, "You don’t want to make a scene and get caught, do you?"
Chen Xiao was speechless. How is this woman such a hooligan? There are other people in the car!
The next moment, Chen Xiao sucked in a sharp breath. Since Zhang Wudao and Zhang Zongheng were still present, he could only close his eyes and pretend to rest. Before long, Zhang Yaqing had laid her head on his lap, burrowing under his coat.
Chen Xiao couldn’t be bothered to stop her anymore. He had a new perspective now. His life wasn’t going to last much longer anyway, so he might as well enjoy himself however he pleased.
After about ten minutes, Zhang Yaqing, still resting on his thigh, nudged him awake. "We’re here!"
Chen Xiao finally opened his eyes and lazily climbed out of the car.
Seeing that Zhang Wudao and Zhang Zongheng weren’t paying attention, Zhang Yaqing leaned in and whispered teasingly into his ear, "Feeling drained already?"
The corner of Chen Xiao’s mouth twitched. Over the last few days, both Luo Qingli and Qin Lan had been as voracious as tigers. On top of that, Zhang Yaqing, this fox spirit, had just drained a portion of his vital energy. Even his iron-clad body was starting to give out! But how could a man ever admit he can’t keep up?
He stared at Zhang Yaqing provocatively. "If this were a real battle, we’d see who would be begging for mercy."
Zhang Yaqing rolled her eyes at him. "Oh, really?"
She smiled seductively. "I’m very conservative. Unless you divorce Luo Qingli and give me official status, of course. I promise I’ll put all the skills I’ve learned over the years to practical use and give you an experience that will send you flying," she giggled.
Chen Xiao was speechless. How could he possibly see her as conservative? She flirted with him in front of everyone in the private room and couldn’t even behave in the car. What does the word ’conservative’ have to do with her in the slightest? I even suspect she has some kind of special fetish for causing trouble in crowded places.
"A wanderer like me can’t give you a title," Chen Xiao said flatly before walking inside.
Zhang Zongheng led the way, introducing the Chen Family’s estate to Chen Xiao as they walked. The decor was remarkably elegant. Every single furnishing was priceless.
Once they reached the living room, Chen Xiao said, "Elder Chen, we can begin. Please take off your shirt."
Zhang Zongheng’s old face flushed. "Right here?"
"Yes," Chen Xiao nodded. "Just your top is fine."
Zhang Yaqing raised an eyebrow. "Then why did I have to take everything off when you were treating me?"
Chen Xiao pursed his lips. "Because I like the view. Satisfied?"
Zhang Yaqing shot him a look that was pure charm. "You pervert!"
Zhang Zongheng didn’t hesitate, slowly removing his shirt to reveal a strapping physique. Despite his age, the foundation from his many years of martial arts training was still evident.
Just as he did, a group of people suddenly entered from outside.
A regal-looking, middle-aged woman entered, accompanied by an old man with a white beard and hair who carried himself with an air of pride.
"Mother!" Zhang Yaqing and her brother hurried forward to greet the woman.
The noblewoman nodded. "Elder Chen, this is Old Master Li, the Divine Doctor I invited from the Capital City." 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
"A Divine Doctor from the Capital City?" Everyone’s eyes lit up at her words.
Xu Fang nodded. "That’s right! This is Senior Li Zhengming, one of the ten Great Physicians of the National Medical Court!"
At this revelation, a reverent look appeared on everyone’s faces.
"Divine Doctor Li, it’s an honor to welcome you!" Zhang Zongheng immediately greeted him with a warm smile.
Li Zhengming merely gave an arrogant nod in return.
"I was told you have a patient," Li Zhengming began, his tone condescending. "This lady learned I was retiring in Yuncheng City and paid a hefty sum for me to make a house call. My time is limited. Who is the patient?"
"Well..." Zhang Zongheng said awkwardly, "that would be me."
Li Zhengming nodded. "So it is you. A quick glance tells me your symptoms stem from stagnant qi that has injured your internal organs. A few of my Silver Needles, and you will be fully recovered!"
Everyone was stunned. "Is it really that simple?"
Li Zhengming gave a faint smile. "Of course. I have been practicing for decades; I possess at least that much diagnostic skill. The path of medicine ultimately values returning to simplicity," he added. "Flashy techniques are useless."
Everyone nodded in agreement, feeling that he had spoken with great wisdom. He’s truly worthy of his title as a Great Physician of the National Medical Court!
However, Chen Xiao’s brow furrowed. "Your theory isn’t wrong, but there is one problem."
At his interjection, both Xu Fang and Li Zhengming turned to stare at him. Li Zhengming was visibly displeased but tried to maintain his composure. "And what great insight might you have, young man?"
Xu Fang snapped, "What would a brat like you know? How dare you question Divine Doctor Li?" She had gone to great lengths to invite Li Zhengming. How could she allow someone to question him? That would be the same as questioning her!
Chen Xiao stated flatly, "Your very first step is wrong. In fact, it’s completely and utterly wrong."
Li Zhengming’s expression darkened. "Then by all means, enlighten me. What did I get wrong? I have practiced medicine for decades, and no one has ever dared to question my judgment like this! If you cannot provide a clear reason today, I will not let this matter rest. You brat, are you some charlatan from the countryside who specializes in swindling people?"
Xu Fang ordered coldly, "Someone, get this brat out of here! Don’t let him be an eyesore to the Divine Doctor!"
Li Zhengming waved her off. "No need. I want to hear what kind of nonsense he can possibly spew."
Seeing their attitudes, Chen Xiao knew they weren’t sincerely asking for guidance but were simply indignant. He retorted coolly, "And what if I actually have a point?"
