Divine Doctor and His CEO Wife-Chapter 123: Tenfold Retribution
Chen Xiao glanced at Luo Qingli and pursed his lips. "Transfer the fifty million to them."
A painful pang shot through Luo Qingli’s heart. She knew perfectly well that her mother was the one who had created this mess. She couldn’t blame Chen Xiao; what he had managed to accomplish was already incredible. He had nearly driven Jiang Tianquan and Watanabe Ichiba insane, and Qian Li and her son had been left utterly humiliated.
Still, the money had to be paid. There was no escaping it.
Li Sufang gritted her teeth. "Chen Xiao! If you were really so capable, you wouldn’t be helping others scam my daughter out of her money! I don’t want to give them a single cent of this fifty million!"
"And how could I compare to your capability? Scamming your own daughter out of fifty million in under half an hour?" Chen Xiao shot her a disdainful look. "You don’t want to pay? Then how about you stay here in their place?"
"I..." Li Sufang was seething. "Are you even speaking like a human being?"
"I speak to people in a way they deserve," Chen Xiao said, refusing to indulge her. "If you’re asking me whether I’m speaking like a human, maybe you should first ask yourself if you’re acting like one."
Li Sufang was left speechless.
"That’s enough, Mom! Stop talking! Chen Xiao has handled this exceptionally well!" Luo Qingli was getting frustrated. "If you hadn’t trusted your so-called old friend, would you have been scammed out of so much money?"
"How is that my fault?" Li Sufang argued, shamelessly unrepentant. "If you were worth ten billion, wouldn’t fifty million be a drop in the bucket? You’re only blaming me for spending fifty million because you aren’t rich enough!"
Luo Qingli felt like her head was going to explode. Li Sufang’s delusional logic was completely divorced from reality. It was as if the entire world was wrong... and only she was right.
Swallowing the bitter pill, Luo Qingli transferred the fifty million to their account.
After receiving the money, Jiang Tianquan sneered repeatedly. "I thought you had some tricks up your sleeve, but in the end, you still had to obediently hand over the money. How laughable! I guess you know your place and wouldn’t dare default on a debt in front of me!"
Watanabe Ichiba also let out a sneer, his mockery palpable.
Chen Xiao remained completely unperturbed. "Don’t worry. I’ll make every one of you spit it all back out today."
Jiang Tianquan scoffed, "You’ll need the skill to back that up."
Chen Xiao smiled and looked at the women beside him. "Who wants to make an investment tonight?"
The beautiful eyes of the women lit up.
Zhang Yaqing spoke first. "Alright. If Mr. Chen wants to make some money, I’ll gladly support him. How much do you need, Mr. Chen?"
"Any amount is fine," Chen Xiao said lightly. "You can decide for yourselves."
"I’ll put in one million." Zhang Yaqing took out a card and went directly to the cashier’s counter to exchange it for one million in chips. She had already guessed what Chen Xiao was planning to do.
Chen Xiao chuckled as he took the chips, weighing them in his hand.
Luo Qingli felt a flash of annoyance, a hint of jealousy in her eyes.
"I’ll put in two million!" Not to be outdone, she immediately went and got two million in chips. She’d already lost fifty million, so what was another two? Besides, if Chen Xiao was this bold, he must have a plan.
Xu Yanran thought for a moment. "I’ll buy a million as well."
Li Biyun looked a little embarrassed; after all, she didn’t really have any money on her.
Four million in chips were now piled up in front of Chen Xiao.
Jiang Tianquan roared with laughter, his face a mask of scorn. "You actually think you can win money from us? Be careful, or you’ll lose everything down to your underpants!"
Watanabe Ichiba added sarcastically, "Four million? That won’t even last ten minutes at our tables!"
"How will we know if we don’t try?" Chen Xiao said calmly. "You scammed my wife out of fifty million. So today, I’ll win five hundred million from you."
"Excellent! Excellent!" Jiang Tianquan clapped his hands, thoroughly amused. "I’m very interested to see how you plan to do that."
The onlookers grew intrigued as well. They hadn’t expected Chen Xiao to be so audacious. After all, they were all seasoned gamblers. Everyone knew that these tables were rigged. If a large group played, maybe one or two lucky individuals might win a little, but if someone was targeted, four million in chips would be gone in an instant.
Chen Xiao walked straight to the Sic Bo table and took a seat with an imposing air.
The Croupier sitting opposite him had an arrogant expression. "You want to play this?"
"Why not?"
"Of course, you can!" the Croupier said after receiving a nod from Jiang Tianquan. He immediately began to shake the dice.
Chen Xiao casually tossed down 100,000 in chips.
The dice were revealed, and he lost. He then proceeded to lose the next two hands as well. Just like that, 300,000 in chips were gone.
The crowd erupted in derisive laughter. They could see that Chen Xiao had no clue how to play. At this rate, he was just giving his money away.
Li Sufang sneered from the sidelines, "And here I thought you were some kind of gambling master. Turns out you know nothing at all. Qingli, you’d better get that money back before he loses it all."
Luo Qingli replied calmly, "Mom, be patient. Have faith in Chen Xiao."
Despite her words, she was incredibly nervous. Judging by his plays, Chen Xiao truly looked like a complete novice. He had just lost three times in a row.
Chen Xiao scratched his head and sighed. "Looks like betting on a specific total is too difficult. I’ll try my luck with Big or Small."
He then bet on Big or Small three more times, wagering 200,000 chips each round. He lost every single time.
Of the initial four million in chips, one million was now gone in less than two minutes.
The onlookers’ laughter grew even more scornful. Did this kid really think a casino was a charity?
Jiang Tianquan sneered relentlessly. "Chen Xiao, aren’t you supposed to be so capable? How have you lost so many hands in a row? What’s the point of these paltry one- or two-hundred-thousand-chip bets? Why don’t you just shove all your chips in, lose them, and go home to bed!"
Watanabe Ichiba chimed in, "Young Master Jiang, don’t be so harsh. Maybe he’s so poor he treasures these few million like his own life. How could he possibly bear to lose it all at once?"
"Hahaha—" Jiang Tianquan’s laughter was triumphant, his mockery unrestrained. "Young Master Watanabe, you’re so considerate. You’re right, I really should be more mindful of other people’s financial situations."
The two of them went back and forth, their sarcastic duet prompting another round of laughter from the spectators. In their eyes, a person like Chen Xiao was just humiliating himself by even sitting at the table. He was practically giving away his money. Jiang Tianquan wouldn’t need to use any tricks to make him lose everything down to his underpants!
Luo Qingli said coldly, "Young Master Jiang, are cheap taunts the only tactic you know?"
"Oh, I wouldn’t dare!" Jiang Tianquan continued his sarcastic tirade. "You’re right, I’ll just keep quiet. Wouldn’t want someone to be a sore loser and try to welsh on their debt later..."
Throughout all of this, Chen Xiao completely ignored their jeers, his focus fixed silently on the table.
The Croupier finally stopped shaking the dice. He set the cup down on the table, his expression smug as he shot Chen Xiao a mocking smile. "Place your bet."
Chen Xiao toyed with the chips in his hand and grinned. "Since Young Master Jiang thinks my bets are too small, I guess I’ll just go all-in on this one."
With that, he pushed all of his remaining three million chips forward.
He was betting on a specific total: sixteen, which carried a twenty-to-one payout. If this three-million-chip bet hit, the payout would be sixty million!
In an instant, the spectators were stunned into silence.
Has this guy gone mad? He just pushed all his chips in at once? And on a specific total, no less!
With three dice, the range of totals was three to eighteen. While the payout for a specific number was high, the probability was incredibly low. Chen Xiao going all-in was tantamount to handing over the money. If the Croupier were to use any of his little tricks, the result was a foregone conclusion.
However, when he saw the number Chen Xiao had bet on, the Croupier’s playful expression vanished. He turned pale, a cold sweat beading on his forehead, and he hesitated, not daring to lift the dice cup.
The corner of Chen Xiao’s mouth curled into a slow smile. "Open it."
