Divine Doctor and His CEO Wife-Chapter 114: Medicine Stolen
Xu Yanran watched everything unfold. The two figures were nimble and quick, their auras well-concealed. A single glance was enough to tell their skills were extraordinary.
Are they here to steal something? The thought made Xu Yanran’s eyes tremble slightly.
The pair rummaged around the balcony and finally found what they were looking for.
"The Dragon Heart Herb is here!"
"Huh? There’s also... the Seven Orifices Exquisite Fruit!"
Upon seeing the plants in the two flowerpots, they exchanged a look. They could both see the shock in the other’s eyes, as the Seven Orifices Exquisite Fruit was also extremely rare and valuable.
"Take both." They immediately tucked the two rare medicinal herbs into their shirts.
"Let’s go," one of them whispered, preparing to leave.
A dark glint flashed in the other’s eyes. "It seems that kid really is asleep. He hasn’t discovered us at all. Why not take this chance to finish him off?" A vicious light flashed through his eyes.
"Are you an idiot? Is his strength something we can contend with? Haven’t we suffered enough at his hands already? Let’s get out of here before he discovers us."
"Don’t forget, Martial Artists have extremely keen senses and Spiritual Sense. The moment we get close, he’s guaranteed to detect us. We wouldn’t be able to escape then!"
Hearing this, the man with murderous intent shivered and abandoned the thought. The two of them immediately leaped down from the balcony, landed silently, and fled without a moment’s hesitation.
Suddenly, Xu Yanran appeared behind them like a specter. "What are you two doing, sneaking in here in the middle of the night?"
Her sudden voice made the two men tremble.
Xu Yanran wasted no words and struck out with her palm.
"Just a little girl!" one of them sneered, repelling her attack and forcing her back with a palm strike of his own.
Such immense power! she thought in shock. I’m a Martial Arts Grandmaster, yet these two little thieves are stronger than me?
"Leave the items behind!" she shouted, gathering her strength and charging forward again.
"You’re seeking death!" Seeing Xu Yanran dare to charge again, her opponent no longer held back. In a single exchange, Xu Yanran was sent flying, spitting a mouthful of blood.
One of them wanted to press the attack and finish her off, but his companion stopped him. "Let’s go! That kid must have been alerted. If we don’t leave now, it’ll be too late!"
With that, the two men turned and fled without looking back, leaping over the perimeter wall in a single bound.
Xu Yanran wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth. Just ten seconds later, Chen Xiao’s spectral figure appeared before her.
"Someone broke in?"
Xu Yanran wiped the blood from her lips again. "Your medicinal herbs were stolen."
"What?!"
A terrifying chill erupted from Chen Xiao’s eyes as he immediately gave chase. He had gone to great lengths to collect those herbs. If they were stolen, all his previous efforts would be for nothing.
When he got outside, however, the culprits had already vanished. He could only see the faint glimmer of taillights flickering in the distance before they disappeared from sight. He clenched his fists, his expression turning exceptionally grim.
The intruders hadn’t harmed anyone. They were clearly just after his medicinal herbs. Not many people knew he possessed the Seven Orifices Exquisite Fruit and the Dragon Heart Herb, and even fewer would dare to sneak in and steal them. This significantly narrowed down the list of suspects. It was most likely someone from the Jiang Family, especially since the Dragon Heart Herb had come from them in the first place.
"No matter who sent you, I’ll make you spit them back out!" Chen Xiao stared in the direction the car had disappeared, a cold light flickering in his eyes. Seeing it was impossible to catch them, he returned to the villa.
Xu Yanran struggled to her feet. When Chen Xiao saw her pained expression and remembered she had been injured protecting his herbs, his own expression softened slightly. "How do you feel?"
Xu Yanran shook her head. "It’s nothing serious. There were two intruders, and their strength was clearly superior to mine..."
Chen Xiao’s eyes narrowed. "It seems these guys are more than they appear."
Xu Yanran was, after all, a genuine Grandmaster. For someone to suppress her in a single move, they had to possess strength at least approaching the Mid Grandmaster Stage. In all of Yuncheng City, experts of that caliber were few and far between. This made him even more certain of their origin. They were most likely sent by Jiang Tianquan.
"Did you hear anything else?" Chen Xiao asked, changing the subject.
Xu Yanran thought for a moment. "I was eavesdropping on them from the moment they came in. After they got the herbs, one of the thieves wanted to kill you, but the other asked if they hadn’t already suffered enough at your hands. Then he grabbed his partner and they fled with the loot."
Hearing this, Chen Xiao fell into thought. He had snatched the Dragon Heart Herb from the Jiang Family, so his first instinct after the theft was to suspect Jiang Tianquan and his people. But now, it seemed that might not be the case. Based on their conversation, the thieves were most likely the two Mid Grandmaster Stage Martial Artists who had fought him a few days ago—the subordinates of that woman, Zhu Baixi.
