Divine Beast Creator-Chapter 1954 - 1955: The Plan
Agunas, rushing in urgently, had no idea what was happening. If it weren’t for Veronia calling out to him through the Divine Beast Intelligence Network, warning that she’d uproot his lair if he didn’t appear at once, Agunas wouldn’t have been so anxious.
The fact is that his lair houses many important items, like the page books Feng Yuan left there and other special things. Though it’s hard for anyone but a Time Divine Beast to approach that space, Agunas wasn’t sure if Veronia could persuade Feng Yuan to help.
That guy certainly has a way in and out of that space, and should anything go wrong, it would be troublesome.
Forcing his way across space to descend upon the region where Feng Yuan and others were, Agunas’s massive strength triggered an alarm. Luckily, because of his prior association with the Alliance, he had notified them beforehand, preventing a major panic.
He intended to question Veronia, but seeing Estir there, seemingly angry, Agunas realized something must have genuinely happened.
After learning the details from Estir, Agunas flicked his tail and said,
"I see, the Alliance..."
With an enigmatic expression, he glanced at Feng Yuan, recalling what Feng Yuan had said when supporting the Divine Beast Hall. Even now, changes have already begun...
"There are always good and bad people; it’s unavoidable. But this time, Estir needs to strike the Alliance, so please help to keep things from getting out of hand."
Feng Yuan sighed and told Agunas. He could have gone himself, but that would cause trouble. After all, he was human, and mixing in with the beasts at such times was best avoided to prevent further escalation.
Regarding the Hao Chun Birds, although the Alliance’s protection was the best choice, looking at the current situation, it’s necessary to contact the Divine Beast Hall to see what’s happening over there.
Under Estir’s orders, those Hao Chun Birds could only choose to follow Feng Yuan’s instructions. Knowing these little ones prefer Ah Mu, Feng Yuan pointed to Ah Mu and told them to rest on Ah Mu’s canopy. Turning to Estir and Agunas, Feng Yuan said,
"Why not ask Gitalien for help? Surely we can’t start the fight from here?"
"No need. Sometimes, pressure needs to be accumulated slowly."
Agunas flicked his tail and replied, while enlisting Gitalien’s help would mean quickly reaching Alliance Headquarters, he didn’t wish for that. Such an abrupt strike is meant more for life-and-death enemies. Facing the Alliance, there’s no need for such a rush yet.
Slowly advancing would give the Alliance time to prepare and a lot of pressure. They aren’t genuinely aiming to overthrow the Alliance. Even Estir knows that person cannot represent the whole Alliance. Just like those who attacked Feng Yuan from the Divine Beast Hall, no organization is entirely good without some private interests; that’s impossible.
As for why the Alliance sent such imprudent people, maybe it’s a sort of test?
Having decided what to do, Agunas and Estir vanished among the woods in the blink of an eye. Qi Chen, looking at Feng Yuan, asked somewhat dazedly,
"What exactly...is going on? Why would the Alliance..."
"Because of Estir himself. After all, he has only recently returned to the Divine Beast Level, different from those ancient beasts. Coupled with the negative impact of being defeated by humans before, there’s always someone who misunderstands the situation, thinking beasts can be subdued by force."
Feng Yuan shrugged and said he wasn’t surprised at all. Beasts hold such high status due to their strength and capability. Estir is somewhat a special case among beasts, having been defeated by humans; naturally, this attracts some people’s unrealistic dreams.
What Agunas and Estir must do now is crush those unrealistic dreams. Would they fail?
With Agunas aiding from the side, the Alliance’s true strength lies with the Beastmasters and Divine Pact Makers who have good relationships with beasts. And those people, as long as they possess normal judgement, wouldn’t get involved impulsively, as their involvement would be meaningless and might even attract other beasts.
If it escalates to a battle among beasts, that’s when it truly becomes a major event. Not to mention, those beasts might not come to their aid.
"Let’s hope those people in the Divine Beast Hall are smart, otherwise..."
Looking at the Hao Chun Birds singing happily on Ah Mu’s canopy, Feng Yuan said wearily as Tamur circled him and said,
"How about creating a Secret Realm just for them?"
"Better not. That might not truly be good for them. Wait... can you create a Secret Realm?"
Feng Yuan responded instinctively, then suddenly sensed something amiss and looked at Tamur in shock. Are Era Divine Beasts just that peculiar?
Tamur swayed as he spoke,
"Yes, but only special Secret Realms, and they can’t spontaneously generate resources."
"That’s still impressive. Even Gitalien probably can’t manage that. So, what’s your Authority about?"
Veronia asked astonished, watching Tamur. She never quite understood what the other’s Authority entailed; it seemed he could do everything? That’s too omnipotent, isn’t it?
Circling Feng Yuan, Tamur gently flicked his tail and said,
"I’m not sure, but it seems like I can do a little of everything."
"Hm, mainly focusing on time, maybe indirectly achieving all Authority’s effects by special time re-enactment?"
Feng Yuan paused, speculating. By observing Tamur’s situation, perhaps even Tamur isn’t sure of his Authority’s effects. But to consider it omnipotent is impossible; no such divine beast exists.
To think of it as all-powerful yet powerless is equally unlikely. At least during the Abnormal Space incident, Tamur could counteract the interference of space rules, proving his Authority involves the underlying space rules.
Combining this fact with the notion of Era Divine Beasts, Feng Yuan could only surmise it relates to special time re-enactment, as Time Series Divine Beasts generally use time re-enactment to indirectly employ all series of Ultimate Moves, including those exclusive to Spirit Beasts.
However, the limits of time re-enactment pertain to Divine Beast Techniques, most of which cannot be replicated by time re-enactment. If Tamur’s Authority is considered special time re-enactment, maybe it could achieve what’s happening now.
Without overthinking it, since Tamur himself is aware of his abilities, Feng Yuan knew that the Divine Beast Hall members wouldn’t arrive quickly. Thus, he felt a bit guilty and told Dou Yanlan,
"Well, we might have to set up camp here temporarily."
It’s not necessarily to wait there, but the people from the Divine Beast Hall hadn’t arrived yet. If Feng Yuan and others left, they might face an awkward situation of the other party arriving and searching high and low for them. Moreover, Feng Yuan wasn’t sure those from the Divine Beast Hall were truly reliable.
If they turn out like the Alliance members, a fight might ensue.
In such a case, wandering around could potentially cause issues if they stumble upon the Wild Spirit Beasts’ habitats and start battling there.
Dou Yanlan smiled and said,
"It’s fine; Ah Chen has already found his Beast. As for mine, there’s no rush."
For Dou Yanlan, the requirements for a second Beast weren’t particularly high, as Cotton’s role is more of support rather than the main force. She merely needs to find a suitable main Beast.
That’s far easier than finding support-type Spirit Beasts, as the directions for offense and defense are the most numerous among Spirit Beasts.
"Uh, why not take a stroll around? Tamur, please help protect them."
Scratching his head, Feng Yuan said as Dou Yanlan looked at him puzzledly, to which Feng Yuan chuckled and said,
"Just worried if you choose a Beast like Xiao Hui, would that be good?"
Hearing Feng Yuan’s words, Dou Yanlan thought for a moment about who Xiao Hui was and giggled, saying,
"It’s not bad at all."
As a defensive Spirit Beast, Yang Hongzhi’s Xiao Hui isn’t bad at all. Its only limitation is its size and its lack of special attack moves, similar to Ah Mu. Nevertheless, it possesses thick skin, and not only boasts high defensive power but also decent attack strength.
Feng Yuan seems to be the only one dismissive of Xiao Hui-type Spirit Beasts.
