Chapter 1922: Chapter 1923: Proposal

"So, we can only have fun within the Maomu City area? Well, I guess there will be a lot of people by then."

Sighing, Feng Yuan said somewhat disappointedly. Yi Guanghua seemed to have thought of something and looked at Feng Yuan, saying,

"You guys, aren’t you here to buy clothes?"

"That’s right, not renting them again. I can use the Ritual Robe instead, but they can’t."

Looking at Long Boduo, Feng Yuan said, even though the other is a Divine Beast, you can’t be too reckless, right? Moreover, everyone will be dressed in various traditional costumes, Long Boduo and Veronia’s attire would look out of place compared to others’, wouldn’t that be too noticeable?

Understanding Feng Yuan’s point, Yi Guanghua thought for a moment and said,

"If you are looking for traditional ethnic costumes, if there’s no particular restriction on the type, I know a place that probably won’t have many people."

Feng Yuan looked at Yi Guanghua in surprise and said uncertainly, 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

"We’re not too demanding; as long as it doesn’t look too out of place. But, is there still a clothing store with no people at this time?"

Smiling, Yi Guanghua understood Feng Yuan’s misunderstanding, so he explained,

"It’s not a clothing store, it’s a company that provides film costumes and props. We had contact with them when organizing an event. Normally, they wouldn’t take orders from regular people, but seeing the faces of those two, it shouldn’t be an issue."

"A props company? Right, they usually take bulk orders. We’re just missing clothes for Veronia and Long Boduo, so we don’t have high material demands."

Looking at Long Boduo and Veronia, Feng Yuan said. He knew about the props company but had never dealt with them as they deal with bulk orders, and ordinary people rarely interact with them.

So initially, he forgot about this aspect. In fact, finding a props company is more apt.

After all, as Yi Guanghua said, the traditional costumes used in events are typically custom-made with these props companies, not because regular clothing stores aren’t capable, but because props companies are more professional.

Not only can they tailor costumes to specifications, but they can also provide modification suggestions based on the client’s needs. Regular clothing stores cannot do this, as those custom stores don’t have the time to collect and study various historical information, and once they make haphazard changes, problems like motifs contrary to history arise, which would be troublesome.

"A props company? In terms of professionalism, they can be trusted. It’s just uncertain if they have the time."

Veronia looked at Yi Guanghua and said, the competition among props companies is not high. After all, a city can only accommodate one or two such companies, and that props company is intricately connected with the local area, so it’s not easy for outsiders to shake its status.

Furthermore, due to issues of professionalism, it’s not easy to run a props company. They not only need to investigate all local historical documents but also understand the folk customs of various areas to provide the best reference suggestions when customers need it.

This makes props companies more than just help in making film props; they’re essential support when filmmaking touches on history.

As Feng Yuan knew, in many places including Maomu City, sometimes history-related educational programs would seek help from the local props company.

Ordering costumes from them directly is something only Veronia and her kind could do. Ordinary people, even the company bosses in Maomu City, find it difficult.

Because of their professionalism, they’re actually not short of work. Moreover, backed by the local area, nobody would want to stir up trouble for them.

"That’s no problem. I’m here to also talk with them about the National Day setup. After all, Liantang Town is still slightly behind Cha Mu Town."

Smiling, Yi Guanghua said. Even though Cha Mu Town collaborates with the props company, their unique nature leads to a relatively complex folk culture composition, so they don’t need much help from the props company in performances.

Liantang Town is different; without some modification, the traditional costumes wouldn’t look as appealing and attractive.

Of course, that’s just one aspect. More importantly, incorporating aquatic features into their traditional costumes helps promote aquaculture better.

Seeing the other party speak like this, the group didn’t say much. Following Yi Guanghua, they arrived at the props company. Looking at the antique-like building, Feng Yuan exclaimed in surprise,

"This place really has something, doesn’t it?"

"It seems somewhat familiar, but architecture like this is rare."

Qi Chen curiously looked at the building and said. He didn’t know why, but this props company’s building felt strangely familiar, although upon closer inspection, it didn’t quite match the ancient buildings he had seen before.

"It should be modeled after Maomu City’s ancient buildings. Although there are modifications, the main structural design shouldn’t have changed much."

Feng Yuan said, stroking his chin. It was normal for Qi Chen to find it familiar because the Maomu Grand Library is an ancient building, but due to various reasons, its structure and appearance differ somewhat from Maomu City’s traditional buildings.

"It seems they really live up to their reputation. It’s making me a bit eager with anticipation."

Glancing at the antique-like building, Veronia smiled slightly and said that she hadn’t researched Maomu City’s history but trusted Feng Yuan wouldn’t joke about such matters.

"This is normal. After all, Maomu City has only one props company, but whether they can help is uncertain, given that National Day is approaching."

Looking at the hall behind the door, Feng Yuan said that apart from Liantang Town, he reckoned Cha Mu and other subordinate areas would also seek this props company since only this one in Maomu City could take orders unless they had their own designs.

Apart from Cha Mu Town, Feng Yuan didn’t believe other places had that capability, given that Cha Mu Town’s foundation is relatively substantial.

After Yi Guanghua entered, he communicated with the receptionist. The receptionist hesitated upon hearing that the special order was to design costumes for Divine Beasts.

Normally, they don’t take personal orders, especially for single garments, particularly at such busy times. But dealing with Divine Beasts is different.

While it’s unlikely to become a Divine Pact Maker this way, maintaining good relations with Divine Beasts is undeniably beneficial.

Ultimately, the company’s higher-ups decided to take the order, as the opportunity to build connections with Divine Beasts doesn’t come often, even though previously, when Long Boduo visited Liantang Town, Yi Guanghua and others hadn’t become friends with him.

Regarding their reply, Yi Guanghua and Feng Yuan weren’t surprised; it seemed entirely natural to them.

Accompanied by a dedicated attendant, they went to the designer’s reception room. The designer initially seemed puzzled to see so many people, but upon seeing Yi Guanghua, she thought of something and said,

"I remember you’re the tourism manager from Liantang Town, right? You and they..."

"I met them on the way here. This is Long Boduo, the Divine Beast, and this lady is..."

Yi Guanghua understood that the designer might have confused something, and after the introductions, he got up to leave for a meeting with the designer liaising with Liantang Town. Veronia, observing the intellectual woman, smiled slightly and said,

"Then, please take care of us~"

Nodding, the woman extracted a hairpin from her updo, which Feng Yuan noticed was actually a pen designed to look like a hairpin.

Quite a clever play; whether she did it intentionally or out of habit, Feng Yuan wondered as he pulled Qi Chen to sit beside him. Long Boduo leaned in curiously as the intellectual woman, according to Veronia’s requirements, drew a sketch.

While 3D models would be more intuitive, due to habitual reasons and the sketch being quick and easy to modify, she had no intention of changing it.

After listening for a while, Long Boduo felt a bit dizzy, as Veronia and the woman discussed intricate details like the golden balsam flower motif and the accompanying pendant, which were beyond his comprehension.
