Divine Artifact in a Scientific World-Chapter 132: Couch Time (6)
Chapter 132: Couch Time (6)
Then it hit her. She didn’t need to wait for Rina’s software! If Jeeves could create a simulation from a design file, then she could skip the slow computer simulations and run the real Genesis Heart simulations directly!
She turned to look at him wide eyed.
"Just figured it out, huh?" he teased.
She shook a finger at him, then dashed out of the room to go help Rina. The sooner they had a working simulation description file format, the sooner she could get to making some real progress!

After Nora dashed out of the room, Jack summed a second copy of Jeeves and asked, "If simulations can be initiated from a digital file, can you create a digital file from a simulation?"
"Yes, though the file format must be properly documented and any details the format cannot support will be lost."
Excellent! He was sure Rina and Nora would be pleased to learn this, but, more importantly, he could also use it to monitor persons of interest. Having to be present to run his remote-presence technique would be inconvenient if he needed to watch someone 24/7.
But if he could have Jeeves run the technique and extract an audiovisual stream of the target, then he could review the video at his convenience.
Miranda had been asking him some very interesting questions about how he was planning to deal with irrational politicians that would oppose his technological advancements simply because they were ignorant. Or rival companies that were willing to use political and nefarious means to interfere in progress for the sake of profit.
He wasn’t willing to make sapient templates of all the people that might pose a risk, but he had no qualms about instituting 24/7 surveillance on them.
"Tell Nora and Rina about this as well," he ordered Jeeves. "Then ask Madison to work with you to develop a way to extract an audiovisual stream from my remote-presence technique."
"As you wish," replied Jeeves 2 before turning and walking out of the room. A few moments later he heard someone screech, "WHAT!"
He smiled. While Nora might be the oldest out of all of them, she wasn’t that old, and she could still behave like an excited little girl.
Until today, her behavior towards him had been friendly and professional, so when she’d asked him if he ’needed help with’ his Rina induced problem, he’d been surprised.
He wasn’t sure if the response he’d given was the right one or if he should have teased her in return and said, "Oh, are you offering?"
He’d picked up some ambiguous emotions from her that suggested she might become romantically interested in him in the future. The way she’d looked at his bulge in particular left him thinking she might be growing sexually interested. Still, he’d let things progress naturally.
As for the source of his bulge, Rina had surprised him. First by straddling him instead of sitting on his leg, then by wanting to kiss.
He could tell that she asked more out of curiosity than desire, but also noticed that she enjoyed it. He wasn’t sure, but thought she might not have realized how her body was responding.
And the way she reacted when she discovered his bulge was just too cute.
If Madison could get a little focused and analytical, Rina could get so lost in analysis that she’d get serious tunnel vision.
He still didn’t understand why she didn’t immediately realize what she was touching when she was poking and prodding his manhood through his pants. And the look on her face when she realized? Priceless.
He’d been a little concerned when she ran away, but through their connection he could tell that she’d calmed down almost immediately, so it was fine. And he knew she was eavesdropping outside while he talked with Nora.
He was both pleased and frustrated about learning that they could build a simulation using a digital file.
Pleased because it opened up so many more possibilities. Frustrated because the only way to learn more about Genesis Heart was to ask questions, and so many times knowing what questions to ask eluded him.
As for the land where they would build their research institute...
"Come to me," he commanded Isabelle through their connection.
A few moments later she came dashing through the doorway and practically slid to a stop in front of him, on her knees, Seiza style.
"Ma- Sir! I await your command," she gasped.
She was wearing a sports bra and leggings and was dripping with sweat. He’d learned that she already knew Aikido and Jujitsu and saw no reason to deny her access to the training dummies. So she spent much of her time in his soul space training.
"Do any of your construction companies handle environmental remediation?"
"Yes, Sir. One of my father’s companies does handle environmental remediation."
"Great. I plan to buy a plot of land that requires some environmental remediation. Including digging really deep in one spot. I want to build a research institute with underground facilities there and want to combine the construction and remediation efforts. And maybe ensure that part of the underground facility is...less public than the rest."
"Oh! Great timing, sir. One of my father’s companies just won the contract to build a new research building for NSU. We can have the same experts do the design work for your buildings. And one of my father’s other companies specializes in underground construction, including private bunkers."
"Excellent. I’ll have a lawyer contact you to get things rolling."
"Yes, sir."
"Dismissed." He waved his hand towards the door and she left with alacrity.
The way she looked at him was a little disturbing. She was trying, he could tell through their connection, but she was still stuck in a devoted worshiper mindset and he wasn’t sure if she would ever manage to behave normally around him.
He got up and headed towards his lab. As he passed through his white room, Miranda, who was sitting on the couch, said, "Hey Jack, have you called Katie and Sam yet?"
