District 42-Chapter 301: Frelsis’ objective part 2
Camilla walked hastily toward the mansion, easily breaking through its closed door. She knew that they would maintain it locked, so she was ready to break even steel if needed.
The inside of the mansion was dead silent. Nothing could be heard. The quietude was such that Camilla wondered if someone was inside there. However, there was no mistake. They sieged that place in a way that they couldn’t run away. Even if they went out of the mansion, they would be faced with the dome that was blocking their escape. The teleporting pads were also messed. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
’Canute did well when taking all those warriors away from Jomurgand’s assault. This way, they wouldn’t have huge losses that could cost them a lot. Nonetheless, it isn’t possible that he could get enough energy to teleport all the people on this mansion snd every single Ridire troop and the Aesir at the same time.’
Camilla’s worries disappeared once she finally heard something coming from the last floors of that place.
The top floors of the mansion were her first guess as to where those people could be hiding. After all, that was the most obvious place in the mansion where they would run away.
The woman smiled excitedly. She was looking forward to seeing the faces of those people once she got there and could do anything she wanted with them. No, better, she wanted to see the face that they would do once she told them what the Frelsi were searching for.
She went straight to the stairs, but carefully. She looked at each room as she passed through that place. No one could predict when a hostage would suddenly be brave and attack her out of nowhere. It was not the time for this type of mistake, after all.
’I doubt that these weakling Jarls have the strength to take me down. The first person who tries it will die for sure.’ Camilla frowned hard, cocking her pistol and going up the stairs once she got there.
’I’d rather die than let these people touch even a finger on me.’
When it came to Jarls, Camilla had a deep grudge and disgust for them. She saw those people just like cockroaches.
Whenever she crossed with a Jarl, Camilla could only think about one thing: Step on him and crumple his body until it was reduced to nothing more!
The mansion had 8 floors. It was quite big. That place’s existence was somewhat annoying to Camilla. After all, the money and resources used to build such a luxurious thing could be used to, at least, lessen the high taxes that the folk out there needed to pay. Maybe a help for those who are in a miserable state as well. But, no... Not the government. All they seemed to want was to see those people crumbling, just like old buildings.
Seeing all those details and nourishing her wrath against the Jarls, Camilla continued to search across the mansion until she got to the eighth floor.
The other floors had different rooms that usually would have in a normal house. Numerous bedrooms and bathrooms were spread there, party rooms, gardens, kitchens, offices, libraries, and everything else.
That place was a palace rather than a mansion.
Nevertheless, that last floor was different from the others. That one didn’t have any walls parting the rooms, nor doors. It was just a wide and rustic room with anything else but a single door right after you went up the stairs and faced its entrance.
In a matter of seconds, Camilla put a bomb on a spot near the lock of the door. It was an automatic one, so she should be careful and don’t put it in a place that would alarm the system, making that mansion basically gain life and kill every threat inside there.
The security system of that mansion was completely automatic. If something happened, it would be quick to find the threat and annihilate it as fast as it could. There were weapons and traps on the house that would just trigger if this alarm sounded and the system reported the threat.
’If that man wasn’t on our side, we wouldn’t be able to invade this mansion even if all the Castle got caught. It would be troublesome to go through the security system. Fortunately, that man could access it and disable right on the day of our invasion.’
Camilla activated the explosives while thinking about those things. The door opened immediately once it happened. Those explosives weren’t strong enough to make any major noise, but their pressure was useful to break through doors.
Inside that place, all the Jarls that lived in the mansion were gathering together. Their eyes were full of fear. Their bodies were shivering, and they couldn’t think properly without getting panicked.
Not all of them were pure-bloods of the Royal Family. The majority were just servants who had prestigious positions inside the mansion.
Once Camilla entered there and everyone saw that half of her face wasn’t covered by a mask, they began to sob and moan in despair. They didn’t know if they tried to run or just stayed and waited patiently, obeying for whatever she wanted to do or say.
Nevertheless, their answer came once someone tried to get up. The others didn’t know whether he decided to rebel against that woman or not. But they didn’t have the time to know to sort it out.
Soon, a bullet got stuck on the forehead of that man. People around began to get more and more anxious, so Camilla needed to be assertive there in order to keep their mouth shut.
"Listen well, if one of you try to get up ever again, say something without my permission, or just breath too loud, you will have the same fate as that other guy over there. I am counting on you to be easygoing and make my job here more pleasant." She smiled sarcastically, pointing the gun at them and waiting for their response.
