Max listened attentively as she spoke.

"The second reason," she continued, "concerns another matter."

Lady Virelia looked directly at Max.

"Do you remember Elder Joe who appeared during the grand trial?"

Max nodded immediately.

How could he possibly forget that person.

Elder Joe had appeared in the middle of the trial and had spoken with the seven family heads as if he were their equal. Although the family heads had tried to hide it, Max could clearly sense that they treated Elder Joe with a certain level of caution and respect.

It was obvious that Elder Joe’s identity was far from ordinary.

"Yes, I remember him," Max replied. "He seemed to hold a very important position."

"Elder Joe came here to deliver an invitation," Lady Virelia explained. "Our Black Dragon Clan has been invited to participate in a gathering that will be held by a second rate force.
