Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!-Chapter 1442 - 1441: A Brand-New Faction
As the third beta test of the amusement park came to an end, the entire park gradually found its footing and started becoming lively.
Currently, Amagi Brilliant Park has three highly popular themed attractions: first is the roller coaster, second is Yukiko’s ghost house, and lastly is Latifa’s themed restaurant.
Incidentally, Latifa’s themed restaurant became wildly popular after opening. After all, people live for food, and although there are quite a few who can cook gourmet dishes in the Heavenly Dao Palace, Fang Zheng had never visited the Gourmet World, so he didn’t bring back any culinary talent that could shine.
And Latifa became the first chef to reach the "gourmet" realm.
Even without the glowing dishes, all other aspects are almost as good.
Although her main role isn’t a chef, but a Princess.
Even many little girls who aren’t interested in amusement facilities come all the way here to have a taste of the legendary delicious croquettes.
This made Matsubon and Tiramisu quite embarrassed because they used to be the main attractions as mascots in the park, but now they’ve turned from the most popular mascots into near expendable figures, which hurt their pride.
Now, they can only train hard, striving to shine during the nighttime carnival. Otherwise, these mascots might gradually become marginalized, and eventually no one would care about their existence.
As for Fang Zheng, he simply sent the invitation to the White Tower and handed it to his Divination System Mentor, since he couldn’t decide who to invite, so he let the White Tower decide.
What Fang Zheng didn’t expect was that, after his Mentor received the invitation, they suddenly asked an unexpected question.
"By the way, you are a Legendary Mage now, right?"
"More or less."
After thinking carefully, Fang Zheng nodded. From the perspective of strength, he was certainly a Legendary Mage, and considering his power as a Deity, crushing the White Tower... well, that’s not a problem.
"So, do you want to establish your own faction in the White Tower?"
"Faction?"
At hearing this, Fang Zheng frowned. He knew the White Tower had Eight Major Factions, but...
"What’s wrong? You’re not thinking about retiring, are you?"
"Haha, I was indeed considering retirement, but it’s not time yet."
The muscular Divination System Mentor sitting on the couch laughed heartily, then coughed.
"This can be seen as a proposition from our Chief Council. What do you think? Are you interested? If you establish your faction, you could freely recruit apprentices and develop your own forces. It’s a pretty good proposal, right?"
"So what’s the truth?"
Fang Zheng decisively filtered out the meaningless words, directly staring at his mentor and asking, to which the bearish Divination System Mentor chuckled.
"The truth is, we need greater power."
"Power?"
"Yes, as you know, given the current world situation, every little bit of power helps. However, we’re getting on in age and face some complicated political webs of relationships. So, we hope you can join us; at least it would be easier to have support, right?"
Ah, so that’s the intention.
Upon hearing this, Fang Zheng understood the White Tower’s Chief Council’s position. They were well aware of potential formidable enemies they might face. In this context, the White Tower naturally wants more technical and power support from the Heavenly Dao Palace.
The combat at Twilight Frontier earlier really stimulated these mentors significantly, and they certainly don’t want to be marginalized, hence this decision.
But the issue is that the Heavenly Dao Palace is currently the strongest force in the Main World, and Fang Zheng isn’t easy to deal with. If they wish to make a deal with him, they need to demonstrate sincerity!
And this is the White Tower’s proposal.
Shares in the Magitech Nation!
Of course, this is merely a metaphor; the Magitech Nation is a state, not a corporation, so it doesn’t go public, meaning there aren’t any shares. But it’s common knowledge that the Chief Council is the highest governing body of the Magitech Nation, and the Eight Great Chiefs essentially are the highest rulers of the nation.
At this point, Fang Zheng’s mentor suggested joining a new faction, which means turning the Eight Major Factions into Nine Major Factions, positioning Fang Zheng to "naturally" become one of the highest rulers in the Magitech Nation.
In other words, the Magitech Nation and White Tower are effectively exchanging "status" and "people" for Fang Zheng’s Heavenly Dao Palace "technology." Their idea is smart but risky, knowing that if Fang Zheng desires, he could use this opportunity to take over the Magitech Nation entirely—though Fang Zheng has no such plans.
"......"
After his mentor’s speech, Fang Zheng fell into silence. To be honest, he wasn’t particularly interested in the exchange since he didn’t care much for power or status. Speaking of power, Fang Zheng currently holds sway over several universe worlds, and concerning status—he’s a quasi-god; how could the Eight Great Chiefs compare?
But as a quasi-god, Fang Zheng had to admit his interest was piqued.
Why?
Because if he could have his own faction, he could mass-produce Magical Girls and gather more followers!
Though Fang Zheng can recruit Magical Girls in every world, each world’s Magical Girls offer varying levels of Power of Faith to him. For instance, in the Magical Girl World, like Little Sakura, Nanoha, and Anzu as Magical Girls, they each provide about 100 Power of Faith to Fang Zheng.
This is because this world itself is centered on Magical Girls, fitting well with Fang Zheng’s Divine Position.
Other worlds yield different results.
In something like the World of Love with Shizaki Sachiko as a Magical Girl, she only provides 20–30 Power of Faith, while Nie Xiaoqian and Aya from the Immortal Hero World offer about 50.
Simply put, the closer a world’s setting aligns with the "Magical Girl" attribute, the more power Fang Zheng can gain, and conversely, less in other settings.
Thus, the Main World is the most suitable, and if Fang Zheng develops Magical Girls as believers here, he could accumulate significant power.
Indeed, that’s why Fang Zheng was tempted; the Main World is his base. In other worlds, if Fang Zheng wants to recruit Magical Girls, he must find ways to change those worlds into Free Worlds first. But in the Main World, there’s no such hassle; according to his mentor’s idea, Fang Zheng could establish a Magical Girl faction here and enjoy a steady stream of Power of Faith.
What could be better than lying back and collecting profit?
So Fang Zheng ran these thoughts through his mind and nodded decisively.
"Of course, no problem. Let’s establish a Magical Girl faction."
"Uh... wait, what did you say?"
Hearing the beginning of Fang Zheng’s sentence, the Divination Bear Man nodded, but upon hearing the latter part, he was dumbfounded.
What does setting up a Magical Girl faction mean?
He understood the four words separately, but together he had no idea how to interpret them.
Magic, girl, yes, a girl using magic, that makes sense. In fact, there are many girls among Mage Apprentices; by this literal definition, they could be considered Magical Girls. But...
"What are you planning to do? I’m telling you, the White Tower isn’t a place for messing around. If you plan to fool around, we won’t agree."
"Do I look like that kind of person?"
Fang Zheng felt frustrated at this misunderstanding from his mentor. Does someone like him, talented and handsome, need such a method to create a harem?
"So what on earth are Magical Girls? And what magic do they learn?"
"Hmmm..."
Faced with his mentor’s inquiry, Fang Zheng was momentarily at a loss. Magical Girls can be omnipotent or specialized...
"In short, it’s a faction that can enhance power in a short time."
Ultimately, Fang Zheng could only offer this explanation.
As opposed to faculty who purchase a ticket before riding, Magical Girls belong to the type who board first and pay later. The powers they possess can only be seen once they sign the contract and become Magical Girls. Thus, even if Fang Zheng wanted to elaborate, he couldn’t say more.
His mentor’s brows furrowed upon hearing this. Although knowing Fang Zheng wouldn’t likely deceive him, this vague explanation left him uneasy. In the study of spells, methods claiming to enhance power quickly are either dangerous or evil; generally speaking, shortcut methods are frowned upon by academic mages.
"That’s not acceptable; you wouldn’t pass muster this way. Even if I say so, the other mentors would not agree."
"........."
Fang Zheng said nothing, just open-handedly looked at his mentor, knowing that if his teacher spoke like this, there must be a solution.
Sure enough, after a brief moment, Mentor Xiong’s eyes brightened.
"How about this — bring a few Magical Girls to participate in the White Tower’s ladder competition? With a good performance, if I recommend it, it should be fine!"
"The ladder...?"
Upon hearing this, Fang Zheng couldn’t help reminiscing about his past glorious achievements dominating the ladder.
This seems like a good idea too?
"Of course, that’s fine."
With this thought, Fang Zheng nodded decisively.
"Right after this event ends."
