Chapter 50: Ch 50 Buddha Incarnate

----------

TRAIT: BUDDHA INCARNATE

RANK: Outlier

This trait signifies profound enlightenment and peace, granting unique abilities that defy conventional understanding and the natural order of the universe.

EFFECTS:

Emotional Immunity: Negates the influence of negative emotions such as ego, greed, pride, and anger, enabling pure, unclouded rational thought and decision-making. The wielder’s mind remains serene and logical even in extreme circumstances.

Compassionate Return: The Host always repays compassion or kindness shown to them, often several times more than what was received. This effect creates a powerful, often disproportionate, sense of obligation to those who offer genuine benevolence.

Fate Threads: Grants the ability to perceive the intricate threads of fate connected to the Host and others. These threads manifest as luminous lines of energy, color-coded: red for love, golden for allies, black for enemies. The display may sometimes show odd or unexpected connections, revealing hidden destinies or relationships.

Calming Aura: Radiates an inherent aura of peace and tranquility, which passively reduces hostile intent in others and actively disrupts aggressors’ focus. This can cause unpredictable behavior in enemies, ranging from hesitation to outright confusion or a sudden loss of aggression.

Suffering Detachment: Provides an extremely high resistance to spiritual and emotional attacks, effectively negating despair, mental anguish, and psychological torment. In extreme cases, this can grant full spiritual immunity, making the wielder impervious to soul-based assaults or curses.

Spiritual Growth: The trait strengthens and evolves with consistent meditation and acts of saving lives, particularly those facing profound suffering. This continuous growth enhances all existing effects and potentially creates new, inexplicable abilities or even minor reality shifts, reflecting the wielder’s increasing enlightenment.

"Interesting," Klaus murmured, a new, almost serene expression settling on his face.

He sat in the opulent guest lobby of the Adventurer’s Association, his earlier demeanor of arrogance had melted into something much more manageable,

a profound sense of inner calm had spread in his mind.

His hand, which had been clenched moments ago, now loosely held a bottle of soda, his body completely relaxed.

In front of him, a constant barrage of notifications had been appearing, a silent battle raging within his very soul.

[DING!! Trait: Draconic Pride has detected trait: Buddha Incarnate...]

[DING!! Draconic Pride is trying to suppress Buddha Incarnate..]

[DING!! Buddha Incarnate is resisting the suppression..]

[DING!! Draconic Pride is being suppressed by Buddha Incarnate..]

"System, it’s been quite a few minutes. These traits have been fighting, and I have been hit by waves of conflicting emotions one by one," Klaus commented,

his voice now calm, devoid of the earlier frustration.

He had felt the sudden surges of overwhelming arrogance, followed by profound tranquility, then back to the egoistic feeling, a chaotic internal tug-of-war that had been mentally exhausting.

[Host, they will have to come to a truce to coexist inside your soul,

but none of them seem to be getting an upper hand in the direct confrontation.] the System replied.

"It’s almost entertaining looking at these two fight" Klaus chuckled, a genuine, light sound, as he casually stuffed some chips into his mouth.

The internal chaos, though intense, was now observed with a detached curiosity.

[System detects Host has undergone another weird personality change.] the System stated, its robotic voice carrying a hint of observation.

"System, you are just mocking me, hahaha!" Klaus laughed, finding the System’s commentary amusing.

"I know you are also enjoying the fight, plus such a chaotic rush of emotions is overloading my brain and psyche. It’s as if I am high."

He took a long gulp from his bottle of cola, the fizzy sweetness a minor distraction from the internal maelstrom.

The System was about to reply when another, more urgent notification appeared, cutting off its response.

[The fight between Draconic Pride and Buddha Incarnate has awakened ?????]

"Oh! Shit, the dangerous question mark Sama is here," Klaus said nonchalantly, his voice completely unconcerned.

He was too used to cryptic question marks at this point; they usually signified something beyond its current understanding.

[????? has suppressed Draconic Pride.]

[????? has suppressed Buddha Incarnate.]

[????? is returning to slumber.]

"Wait! Don’t go! Give me some power-up, please!" Klaus said in a comical, almost pleading tone, his voice echoing slightly in the quiet lobby.

He was addressing the mysterious entity, hoping for a quick, unexpected boon.

[Draconic Pride and Buddha Incarnate have come to a truce....]

[Draconic Pride is going passive.]

[Buddha Incarnate is going active.]

A profound sense of calm and tranquility suddenly washed over Klaus.

It was not merely the absence of agitation, but a deep, pervasive peace that settled into his very core.

The internal conflict ceased, and his mind felt clear, unburdened by any overwhelming emotion.

"Hm? Truce?" Klaus murmured, a slight surprise in his voice.

"System, what kind of truce?" he inquired, seeking clarification.

[Host, they have formed a pact of coexistence. They will activate according to their favorable surroundings.]

"What favorable surroundings?" Klaus pressed, finding the explanation vague.

[The System does not know.]

"Who was that Mr. Five Question Marks?" Klaus asked, his curiosity piqued by the entity that could suppress two high level traits.

[System doesn’t know.]

"Why were you hyping ’Outlier’ rank as a big deal when the strength of the skills was on the same level as Divine?" Klaus questioned, remembering the System’s earlier ’panic’ about the Buddha Incarnate trait.

[System doesn’t know.]

"What do you know?" Klaus asked, his voice flat, a hint of exasperation returning.

[That System doesn’t know.]

Klaus let out a deep, internal sigh, a wave of profound weariness washing over him at the System’s unhelpful, yet undeniably true, responses.

The System’s very inability to answer spoke volumes about the mystery.

"Anyway, I’ve been meaning to try the Fate Threads effect of the trait," Klaus said, shaking off his frustration. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com

He decided to focus on what he could understand and control.

Since there was no one else in the immediate vicinity of the guest lobby, Klaus decided to try activating the trait on himself.

"Earlier, you said that the Heavenly Will cut my fate threads. Let’s see," Klaus murmured.

He willed the Fate Threads effect to activate.

He then rose from the sofa and walked over to a large, polished metallic wall of the association building, which served as a makeshift mirror, looking at his own reflection.

What he saw shocked him.

He could perceive hundreds of thin, straight golden threads emanating from his chest, specifically from the area of his heart, and disappearing into oblivion, stretching out into the unseen.

These were, presumably, his connections to allies, to those who would aid him.

But there were even more black threads, thicker and darker, that came out similarly, stretching into the distance.

These, he understood, represented his enemies, the individuals, or factions who sought to oppose or harm him.

He could also see some threads that had been systematically cut down, their ends frayed and broken.

Thankfully, these were very few, indicating that most of his connections, both positive and negative, were still intact.

But the most prominent and startling thing was a single, vibrant red thread of love.

It was significantly thicker than all the others, and it radiated a bright, warm luminescence, coming directly from the place where his heart was.

It stretched out into the oblivion.

Klaus currently did not have many opinions about matters of love so he just ignored that for now.

his attention was on the black threads which were almost double in number.

Looking at all this, Klaus was genuinely shocked.

The sheer number of black threads was daunting.

"Seems like I have quite a few enemies," Klaus said, his voice quiet.

The visual representation of his hostile connections was far more impactful than a mere number.

He was lost in thought, contemplating the implications of these visible threads of destiny, when the door to the guest lobby opened.

An middle-aged old man, appearing to be almost sixty years old, walked inside.

He possessed a robust, muscular build, clearly maintained through rigorous training, despite his age.

His thick, grey hair was neatly combed back, and his face, though lined, held an air of profound authority and wisdom.

He wore a sleek, impeccably tailored black suit, adorned with subtle silver patterns of lion heads on the lapels and cuffs.

As soon as he entered the room, the very air shifted.

The casual hum of the lobby seemed to quieten, and a palpable aura of immense power and experience settled over the space.

behind him Ria and another man walked like assistants.

Klaus turned around, his gaze falling upon the man.

Only one thought passed through his mind which was much clearer than before

"Strong."

This was a truly powerful individual, perhaps even beyond the SSS-rank.

Klaus did not feel any hostility from the man, in fact the man was smiling looking at Klaus.

But the most noticeable and shocking thing to Klaus was a golden thread coming out of him going directly into the old man.

more over the golden thread pulsed even more the nearer the old man came.
