Chapter 595: Chapter 319: Tears of Joy

Lawrence Winters thought, maybe it could come in handy?

"Thank you, Mr. Foster. If I need anything, I’ll get in touch," Lawrence said politely before hanging up the phone.

Kenneth Osborne heard that it was Edward Foster calling and said nonchalantly, "...Could it be that young Mr. Foster is really going to have a child?"

"What do you mean, ’going to have’..." Lawrence laughed and lightly tapped Kenneth, "He said his dad knows some very famous obstetricians. I thought maybe I’d need them, just in case?"

Kenneth simply uttered an "Oh" and asked no more.

After all, Lawrence had made a good point.

The ancients used to say that for a woman, giving birth was like stepping into the gateway to death.

Thanks to modern medical advances, childbirth is not as dangerous as it used to be, but you still hear news from time to time about complications during delivery.

When they arrived at the hospital, they saw Madcap Girl’s parents and Joyce Shaw’s grandmother waiting there. They also spotted a familiar face, Francis Johnson.

Lawrence smiled and greeted first, "Mr. Johnson, long time no see."

Francis also smiled and nodded in acknowledgment.

Kenneth walked over, shook his hand, and smiled, saying, "When did you get back, Mr. Johnson? Last time I heard from your secretary that you were on a business trip."

Francis patted his shoulder, "Only got back a few days ago, luckily just in time."

Lawrence went over to Joyce’s grandmother and softly reassured her, "Grandma Shaw, don’t worry. Madcap will be fine."

"Yes, thanks for your kind words." Grandma Shaw said a little nervously, forcing a smile.

She had no great expectations left in her life, only hoping that this child could be born smoothly.

Lawrence also glanced over at Madcap’s parents, nodding and saying, "Uncle, aunt, hello, I’m Madcap’s classmate, Lawrence Winters."

Perhaps nine months had passed, and Madcap’s parents had finally accepted the reality.

They didn’t lose their temper and instead politely replied to Lawrence, "I remember you. I heard you got injured some time ago. Are you better now?"

"All better, completely recovered." Lawrence raised the arm that had been injured and shook it, smiling as he brought the conversation back, "This child of Madcap’s seems to be a leisurely type. I hope when the time comes, it will be quicker."

But it turned out, a slow-tempo child also takes its time coming out.

Lawrence and Kenneth waited with Madcap’s parents, Joyce’s grandmother, and Francis until one in the morning, when Madcap finally began to give birth.

According to hospital regulations, if it’s a natural birth, one relative can go in to assist.

Abroad, it’s generally the husband’s role; domestically, it’s usually the maternal mother.

Regardless, it didn’t seem right for a classmate to go in.

So Lawrence couldn’t go in, having to wait with everyone else outside the delivery room.

Madcap’s mother went in to help.

Over the past few months, Madcap had been taking good care of herself. Under the watchful eye and guidance of professional doctors, the child wasn’t too big.

With the use of painless delivery, there wasn’t even the typical screaming associated with childbirth.

Half an hour later, at 1:30 in the morning, Madcap and Joyce’s son was born. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

Madcap’s mother came out from the delivery room, looking somewhat weary but still excited.

She excitedly told Grandma Shaw, "...The child is very healthy. Not particularly big, but once born, cried loud and clear! You can tell it’s a full-formed child just by that cry!"

Grandma Shaw’s tears fell immediately.

Madcap’s mother quickly took out tissues to wipe Grandma Shaw’s tears.

Madcap’s father also went over to comfort Grandma Shaw.

Seeing this scene, Lawrence understood that Madcap’s parents had finally reconciled with Grandma Shaw.

Now they were like a family, eagerly waiting for this child’s arrival.

Lawrence let out a breath of relief, leaning against Kenneth, whispering, "...If nothing had happened to Joyce, they’d be happy now, right?"

Kenneth held her hand, lips pursed, saying nothing.

Francis walked over to them, lowering his voice as he said, "You two also need to be careful. There’s still a mastermind behind Joyce’s attack that hasn’t been found. I worry they might target you as well."

Lawrence was taken aback, furrowing brows in response, "Really? Justus Spencer is gone, and that foreign ’father of AI’, Thomas, also seems gone abroad, right? Weren’t they the masterminds?"

Francis regretfully shook his head, "We’ve already confirmed, besides Justus and Thomas, there’s another hidden mastermind behind Joyce’s attack who hasn’t appeared."
