Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau-Chapter 454 - 247: There’s Always Someone Better, and the Sky’s the Limit (Third Major Update)
Ryan Sheldon looked up and took a sharp breath.
When did they get surrounded by police cars?
What do these people want to do?!
Ryan Sheldon had been studying abroad since his teenage years and became a professional racecar driver after university, not returning to his home country for over a decade.
He was more familiar with foreign police than domestic ones.
So he instinctively used the approach for dealing with foreign police, obediently parking the car on the highway’s emergency lane, and immediately called home for a lawyer using his phone.
He first called his elder brother, but no one answered.
Then he called his mom, but still, no one answered.
Ryan was frustrated because all the lawyers he knew were abroad, and for a local lawyer, he needed someone from his family to step in.
With no other choice, he called his dad, Aiden Sheldon.
He was most afraid of his father, always feeling like he disappointed him, but this time he had no one else to turn to.
Aiden was talking to Lucas Harlow at the time.
He said casually to Lucas, "I didn’t expect you to make a name for yourself in the domestic film industry."
Lucas chuckled, "I haven’t even thanked you, brother-in-law, for taking care of my dad."
"It was your sister who took care of him. I’m not accepting credit for that." Aiden had a look that showed he didn’t want to be affiliated with the Stetford Family.
Lucas couldn’t say much to that.
In fact, if he weren’t the only son of Uncle Stetford, he wouldn’t want to be linked to that family either.
At that moment, Aiden’s phone rang.
He glanced at the number and found it was his second son, Ryan Sheldon.
Ever since he became a professional racecar driver, this kid often avoided him, not calling even once a year.
This time, he’d organized for them to return home for New Year; let’s see if he dares not come back.
Aiden answered the call with a stern face and said, "Hello," "What’s wrong? Are you in trouble?"
He knew his son too well; Ryan wouldn’t come to him unless he was desperate.
Ryan urgently said, "Dad, here’s the thing, I’m being pulled over by the police on the highway, can you help me find a lawyer?"
Aiden’s expression tightened further. "You’ve just returned and already causing trouble, tell me, where are you?"
Ryan shared his location and even sent a video, saying, "Look, it’s this lady driver! She forced me! I didn’t do it on purpose!"
The video showed a female driver in a Grand Cherokee performing various high-difficulty maneuvers, which indeed surprised Aiden.
Lucas inadvertently caught a glimpse of the video and was momentarily stunned.
He immediately walked over and said to Aiden, "Brother-in-law, let me see this video, who is this lady?"
Ryan, on the other end, heard his voice and quickly said, "Is that you, Uncle? It’s Ryan! I got conned by this lady driver! I just wanted to race her! But she called the police on me!"
Lucas, hearing this, and seeing the side profile of the woman in the car, was almost certain it was Lawrence Winters.
He said to Ryan with a smile, "Where are you now? Can you take a clear picture of that lady driver? I might know her."
"Really? You know her?" Ryan was surprised, looked out the window, and saw the lady driver already got out of the Grand Cherokee and was talking to a group of female police officers.
From his angle, he managed to snap a photo at a forty-five-degree angle; it wasn’t a full face, but close enough.
Ryan quickly took a picture and sent it to Aiden’s phone.
The photo came through quickly, and Lucas confirmed it was indeed Lawrence Winters.
He smiled and said to Aiden and Ryan, "Brother-in-law, Ryan, do me a favor, this lady driver is my manager."
Aiden: "..."
Ryan: "!!!"
"Really?! She’s really your manager?! Does that mean I might have a chance to race with her in the future?!" Ryan exclaimed excitedly.
Lucas hadn’t fully understood the situation yet and said ambiguously, "Stay put, I’ll come to find you now. This doesn’t need a lawyer, I can handle it."
Aiden looked at Lawrence Winters’ photo and said in surprise, "Are managers this pretty now? She’s prettier than many celebrities."
"It doesn’t matter if she’s pretty or not." Lucas said seriously, "The key is if she’s pleasing to the eye."
Aiden: "..."
After a while, he slowly said, "...being pleasing to the eye isn’t something to be said casually."
"It’s the truth." Lucas replied cryptically.
Aiden frowned, and just as Lucas was about to open the door and exit, a girl dressed in a white fox fur coat rushed in recklessly, diving straight into his arms.
