Chapter 87: Gown Wigrem

Inside was a large golden room with tables. At the end, there was a podium on which stood an old man.

"Welcome, all students. I will be your helmsman for 3 days until we arrive at the Academy. To the left are doors where your rooms will be. In this room, you will eat. Any questions?" the man spoke.

There was silence for a moment until a girl in the crowd spoke up. "Is training allowed here?" she asked.

It was a pretty girl with blood-red eyes and white hair.

Whispers spread among the students. "That’s the daughter of Duke Woldern," echoed through the airship.

"Of course, but if you destroy anything, your family will have to pay for it. Any other questions?" the man asked. No one asked anything else.

"Excellent. Now you will be assigned a random number for your room, form a line," said the man.

All the students lined up, and a clerk came to them handing out keys. Flain received the key to room number 42.

"Remember, breakfast is at 8 o’clock, lunch is at 1 o’clock, and dinner is at 7 o’clock. You may now do as you wish," said the man.

The students scattered across the airship, and Itai came up to Flain. "Heh, this is going to be fun. Anyway, I had no idea something like an airship even existed," he said.

"Let’s check out our temporary rooms," said Flain.

They entered the door on the right, revealing a large hallway with doors marked with room numbers. Flain entered his, number 42.

It was quite a large golden room with a bed and a table. There were also windows through which moving clouds could be seen.

"Wow, I’ve only seen luxury like this at Flor’s place," said Itai while searching through the room.

As usual, Flain planned to spend the next 3 days on the airship training. He had no interest in socializing and didn’t need to eat.

As Flain thought, so he did—he kicked poor Itai out of his room and began training.

With the armor, he was several times stronger, gaining a bonus of [+10] to strength, [+5] to agility, and most importantly, [+60] to vitality. So he currently had 1,090 HP. Now he was completely sure he could defeat someone 3 sub-stages above him.

When he fought Ivy, he didn’t even use his biggest ace up his sleeve, which is Wrapping of Death. Since then, Flain had much better armor and stronger weapons.

Two days passed, and of course, Flain trained the entire time. At the moment, the airship was landing. Flain calmly looked out the window.

He saw 4 massive buildings, each one looking almost identical. It was a large golden castle with a big garden at the end. The airship finally landed.

Flain, after the 2 days, left his temporary room. The airship was in chaos—everyone was packing their things and disembarking. Flain calmly walked to the end of the airship and got in line with the people going out.

When Flain stepped outside, a beam of sunlight hit him. Flain decided to follow the students and go into the castle.

Flain entered the interior; the castle had the same design as any luxurious building in the Empire of Light—almost everything was made of gold or gilded.

At the front, they were being led by a man who looked like a servant. After a short while, they arrived in a large hall filled with chairs, and at the end was a large podium on which a man stood.

The man was dressed in a gray suit, had short black eyes and black hair, and wore a cold expression on his face.

"Everyone, take a seat on any free chair," he said. His voice was very loud and echoed through the entire room.

But his tone didn’t sound like shouting—more calm and cold. Flain assumed he had some spell to amplify his voice.

Everyone began to sit down, and whispers echoed throughout the hall as the man on the podium coldly watched them until they were done.

"Hey, get down, I want to sit here!" one student shouted in the hall and tried to push another off the chair.

The man on the podium looked at him. "I said on free chairs," he said coldly.

The student looked back at him angrily. "Who do you think you are?!" he shouted at the man on the podium.

The student’s body suddenly began to tremble violently, and he collapsed to the floor as if something of immense power was pressing him down. His eyes were bloodshot, and foam was coming out of his mouth.

The man’s cold eyes pierced him with a stare. From the side, staff came and carried him away on a stretcher.

When the other students saw this, a deathly silence fell over the hall. Every normal person felt goosebumps from that man.

"Excellent. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Gown Wigrem, the Headmaster of the Noble Academy. This palace is the academy for the first year, and the remaining three palaces are the academies for the upper years. It is forbidden to interact with students from higher years."

"It is forbidden to destroy or steal anything in the academy, except when permitted by a teacher. Unofficial fights are allowed, but murders are not. Stealing from other students is only allowed in the form of Mana Crystals, and only if the other student wins an unofficial duel. There are also official duels where one student may challenge another, and the challenged may accept. In an official duel, the challenger and opponent must wager something, and the winner takes what the loser bet. In official duels, a student may kill their opponent without punishment."

"Other students may also bet their Mana Crystals. If they bet on the winner, they earn more Mana Crystals; if they bet on the loser, they lose their wagered Mana Crystals. The gain from betting depends on the number of Mana Crystals the student bet and how many total bets were placed on the winner."

"Every student will receive 5 Mana Crystals per week. There are quests in the academy through which bonus Mana Crystals can be earned. The number of Mana Crystals depends on the quest’s difficulty. If you fail a quest, you may be punished, but not necessarily—it depends on the extent of the damage you caused by failing the quest."

"Let us now move on to education," said Gown...
