Demonic Skeleton God-Chapter 80: Akies vs Hikaru
Chapter 80: Akies vs Hikaru
"MORE! MORE!" Hikaru screamed like a maniac.
With inhuman strength, he lunged at Akies, grabbed his head, and smashed it into the ground. The earth beneath them collapsed, creating a huge crater.
Akies immediately transformed – his body was covered in hard scales, and additional blades sprouted from his spine. Then, red projectiles began to shoot from his eyes, sharply blasting Hikaru backward.
Hikaru landed a distance away but was already getting back on his feet. His entire body was covered in blood, some parts of his flesh were literally torn apart, but even so, he had a smile on his face.
"HAHAHA! THAT’S WHAT I LIKE!"
The monster’s body didn’t look any better. Several of its eyes were crushed, and marks from Hikaru’s fists were visible all over its body.
A freezing wind began to form around Hikaru. The ground was freezing under his feet, and his hands were completely covered in layers of ice as thick as steel.
A freezing wind began to form around Hikaru. The ground was freezing under his feet, and his hands were completely covered in layers of ice as thick as steel.
Akies attacked, his blades slicing through the air like mad. However, Hikaru was now blocking or deflecting every attack. With each clash, shards of ice and blood exploded in all directions.
At one moment, Akies fired red beams from the eyes on his body, precisely aiming at Hikaru. Hikaru barely managed to dodge, with one beam almost tearing off his ear.
"ALMOST!" roared Hikaru, blood dripping down his face.
"Hmh, you are quite persistent, I’m looking forward to killing you," said the monster in a deep voice.
Hikaru lunged back at Akies. They fought so fast that they looked like blurred shadows. Each exchange of attacks destroyed trees, tore the ground, and hurled stones into the air.
At one point, Akies enveloped his entire body in red energy and charged into Hikaru. Hikaru was caught off guard, and Akies stabbed a blade directly into his stomach, sending Hikaru flying several meters back, crashing through several trees.
The sound of bones grinding could be heard, but Hikaru stood up with an even bigger smile.
"Let’s finish this!" he shouted, and his entire body became covered in an even thicker layer of ice.
This time, he slammed both fists into the ground. The entire area around them instantly froze, and massive spikes erupted from beneath Akies.
The monster tried to dodge, but some spikes struck and impaled its arms and legs. It roared in pain.
Hikaru didn’t hesitate, leaping into the air and punching it with his fist wrapped in thick ice, hitting its chest with full force.
Crack!
A massive burst of green gas erupted from Akies’ chest, and the monster fell to its knees.
But even then, it tried to stand up.
But Hikaru raised his fist and smashed it with full force into its head, completely crushing it.
Itai and Zheren watched from a great distance, the environment before them looking like it had been through an apocalypse. "So this is a battle between Stage 7," muttered Itai...
"That is the power of my strongest brother," said Flor’s voice behind Itai, which startled him a little.
"Hmm, it’s bad that a Stage 7 monster appeared in such a location," said Flor.
"I sure hope so, because I refuse to come here if absolute monsters like that are roaming around. Damn, I was one step away from death. At first, I talked to him, he seemed strange but at the same time friendly, I absolutely didn’t expect him to be this strong," muttered Itai.
"Hmh, you talked to him? Tell me everything," said Flor, his interest piqued.
Then Itai told him everything about their conversation.
"You’re right, that’s really strange, I’ve never seen that kind of monster before. Anyway, it’s a shame Hikaru killed him, I could have detained him and interrogated him. Still, I have some ideas about what it could be," said Flor.
Flor then walked into the devastated area towards Hikaru. "Did you enjoy the fight?" he asked with a smile.
"Hahaha, finally a worthy opponent after a long time. If you find someone like that again, let me know," said Hikaru and ran off so fast that it looked like he disappeared.
----
Another day passed. Itai was calling with Flor, still quite curious about what that monster was.
"My guess has been confirmed. Most likely it was an escaped subject from some cult," said Flor.
"Cult?" asked Itai.
"Yes, a cult. A cult is a faction where people usually worship some entities that grant them various abilities. Most other factions don’t really like them. Anyway, the place where it appeared is under the supervision of the Empire of Light’s army because if one escaped, there’s a chance that several escaped," said Flor.
So now Itai couldn’t go to Dungeon 15 for survival. He didn’t really mind, though, because Dungeon 15 was his least favorite anyway.
-----
Days passed, and eventually, a whole month went by.
The situation with the monster didn’t repeat, and no other comparably strong monster appeared in the area where it had been.
Itai continued with his routine and managed to gather 15,000 gold; this month he had been particularly diligent. Itai advanced to Mid Stage 2, and Zheren to Pioneer Stage 2.
Itai’s undead army had grown stronger again, and most of them had reached at least Pioneer Stage 1. Nobody broke through to a higher Stage, but almost everyone advanced their Sub-Stage.
Flain had masterfully learned to fight with his tail and really enjoyed being able to use three weapons at once in combat. EXP per hour of training had risen to 650, which didn’t seem like much, but it helped a lot.
So Flain currently had reserves of 670,150 EXP. That was enough for him to buy only 2 levels. Flain realized that powering up would become slower and slower.
The unknown voice in Flain’s head kept bothering him. Fortunately, Flain had gotten quite used to it, so it didn’t anger him that much anymore. But he was still curious why it was happening since he couldn’t find any reason.
Flain was currently in Dimension X. He named it that because he didn’t feel like constantly repeating "the dimension where spells are made."
His eyes were extremely focused; he was doing something big...
