Demonic Skeleton God-Chapter 68: Full Potential Stage 2
Chapter 68: Full Potential Stage 2
’What if I just left with that book now? Then I’d have a Stage 2 spell book which, according to the system, I could sell for a lot. Also, once Itai’s undead army becomes more intelligent, they could all learn it in bulk, and that would be a huge power boost. Anyway, I’m still thinking it over,’ thought Flain.
----
Days began to pass again, and another full three months went by. Flain decided to keep the book, and if Itai ever got confronted by the Overseer to return it, he would simply leave the Imperial City.
Flain made a lot of progress in creating his spell. He encountered a pretty big issue—if he used it for more than 30 seconds, he’d run out of mana. But then he had a pretty good idea, which he managed to implement, and it worked so that it didn’t consume any mana at all.
He also once made a big mistake and completely messed up the spell, forcing him to start over, which made him really angry. Luckily, he remembered most of it—otherwise, he would’ve been screwed.
Itai kept repeating the same routine over and over, and by now, he had become friends with nearly everyone. In fact, he had gotten really close to an adventurer who was Stage 5. A lot of people admired Itai because he had a spell and had recently broken through to Novice Stage 2.
Itai now fought in the dungeon using his Ice Spikes together with Zheren, and he also absorbed mana from the corpses of those he occasionally managed to kill himself. He didn’t kill much, since whenever he did, the experience wouldn’t go to Flain—which Flain had warned him about, though in slightly different words.
----
Flain was currently standing in his basement, about to level up for the first time in a long while. He was really looking forward to it. For three months, he had trained for 12 hours a day nonstop, gaining tons of EXP, and on top of that, he received 80% of what Zheren killed.

A wave of sweet warmth washed over Flain—the feeling he adored so much.
"Ah, yes," Flain murmured as his mind melted into madness.
"Hmh, is your crazy episode coming again?" Ghosty asked when he heard Flain speak after a long time.
"You probably don’t understand this, but I am death slowly emerging from this world," Flain said in a distant tone.
"What are you rambling about now?" Ghosty asked.
"Hehe, don’t worry—once I’m able to touch you, you’ll see how people should behave around me," Flain laughed.
"I’d love to see that, since I’m intangible," Ghosty laughed back.
"Exactly, that’s why you’re defenseless," Flain said.
Ghosty wanted to say something when he heard that, but instead he angrily flew out of the basement, leaving Flain alone.
Aran stood behind Flain, swinging his spear—in fact, all throughout the villa, undead were training. This idea had come from Flain, because opening the Gate of Death was far too risky. There was a chance the Empire of Light had sent a spy that had not yet been discovered.
The villa had a lot of space, so Itai’s undead rotated in and out; every day, there were different ones present. Aside from those in a Stage, the others could train there continuously, overseen by the Steward and three undead wolves—Zheren was with Itai. Flain had dismantled part of the villa’s floor so there would be soil, allowing Itai to alternate between undeath types.
In Flain’s basement, only Aran was allowed to train, as he was Flain’s slave, and Flain wanted to keep the space for himself. Unfortunately, that attack on Flain from a month ago had delayed progress, so none of the Stage 1s had managed to break into Stage 2 yet.
Aran had managed to learn the spell in just four days, which was understandable given his Stage.
But let us move to the main event—Flain now had his stats open in front of him, and with joy, he began to level up.

Flain once again felt like he was in heaven. He looked at his fist and clenched it tightly.
"I’m Peak Stage 2, and Stage 3 is just behind the door," he murmured to himself.
Then he gazed at his stats. "I will become the strongest, and no one—fate itself has decreed it," Flain muttered with a laugh, his purple eyes glowing so intensely it could be seen through his helmet.
[Strength increased by 2, agility increased by 4]
This time, Flain increased his speed more, because speed in battle was also very crucial.
Flain returned to his usual discipline.
----
Itai was walking with Zheren. Together, they had gathered 8500 gold, so they rewarded themselves with a day off. They had the idea to explore the Imperial City near the palace, since they had never been that close before.
Where they walked, practically every building was a large villa, and many people strolled around in fancy-looking clothes. Not many commoners came here, because if they somehow offended a noble, it could end badly.
They were now standing in front of a large golden statue, about five meters tall. It depicted a young man with a halo above his head.
Itai didn’t know who it was, but he’d guess it was the son of some high-ranking noble. It hadn’t yet occurred to him that it could be the Emperor of Light—but surely the Emperor didn’t look that young.
"Hey, hello there. I haven’t seen anyone this young and weak around here in a long time," someone said from behind Itai...
