Demonic Skeleton God-Chapter 60: Pioneer Stage 2
Chapter 60: Pioneer Stage 2
Itai made a lot of friends, which was quite easy thanks to his friendly personality. Almost all adventurers knew him and respected him as a future talent. Even Ariel was somewhat friendly toward him, although to be honest, she was still rather cold.
Itai also learned from his friends how to train the brain — in reality, it was much easier than training the body. You just had to sit down and let your mind be at peace, and before long, you would feel a slight tingling sensation, which was a sign that you were training your brain. So Itai began training at least 2 hours a day, sometimes even more, because he wanted to increase his stage and mana capacity.
Itai still hadn’t found the right opportunity to summon Gate of Death, but in the near future, he wanted to leave the Imperial City further behind because he wanted his undead army to grow stronger.
Itai acquired a large stash of gold coins, totaling 3400 gold. So now Flain should have enough money to buy the sword in that shop in front of the statue of Athrylith.
Flain had made significant progress in the art of the Spell Master — he understood it much better now, and his ability to concentrate had improved significantly, so the process was going much faster. Flain had managed to designate the spell as necrotic, and now he was working on how it would function. He estimated it would still take at least 5 more months.
-----
In the meantime, Flain had accumulated an enormous amount of EXP, totaling 784300 EXP and 150 Evolution Shards.
When Flain saw it, the dark purple lights in his eye sockets lit up like lightbulbs. He spread his arms toward the ceiling.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA." He began to laugh maniacally.
Then he suddenly stopped. "I love this feeling," he whispered.
"What the— I’ve never seen you like this, you’re insane," said Ghosty, his transparent head poking out from the side.
"While we’re on the topic, is that guy still watching my villa?" Flain asked, a long bloody smile on his face — if he had one, of course, since he was a skeleton.
"Yeah, when Itai is inside, he watches the villa, and when Itai goes hunting, he follows him," said Ghosty.
"At least he’s not after me. In any case, he doesn’t want to kill Itai because he’s had plenty of chances already, so he’s just gathering information about him. Damn, if he’s following him everywhere, Itai won’t be able to summon the Gate of Death anywhere," Flain muttered.
"Hehehe, at least it’s entertaining. It’s better to watch him than to watch no one — or you, training nonstop. The people walking by are also getting pretty boring to look at," said Ghosty.
"If only I could figure out his stage, to know how strong the people interested in Itai are," Flain sighed.
During that month, Flain had developed his sense for detecting EN well enough to determine someone’s stage, but the range of his sense was still far too small to catch the man who was spying on Itai.
’Alright, enough of that. Now comes the best part — leveling up,’ Flain thought, trembling with excitement.
Flain opened his stats.

[You have gained 7 bonus points]
Flain was trembling all over, his efforts had paid off, he received the drug he longed for so badly.
"Yes, yes, finally." He collapsed to the ground and began laughing uncontrollably.
"Have you completely lost your mind?" asked Ghosty, who flew over to Flain.
Flain stood up and brushed off his armor. "Going crazy wouldn’t bring me EXP, at most it would only delay me, so I’m definitely not planning on going mad," he said, feeling like he was in heaven.
"You’ve been crazy from the start," said Ghosty.
"Don’t distract me now," Flain replied.
Flain thought about where to place his 7 bonus points. After a moment, he made his decision.
[Strength increased by 4, agility increased by 3]
Flain finally chose strength and agility, as that would directly increase his power in combat, which was exactly what he wanted.
Then Flain focused on his magic energy, and the smile on his face grew even wider when he saw how much he had strengthened. Before, he was Mid Stage 2, and now he was Pioneer Stage 2 — a jump of two sub-stages, and now he only needed to surpass Stage 2 Peak to reach Stage 3.
Even though his progress was fast, there was one problem: when he reaches the maximum of Stage 2, he won’t be able to advance to Stage 3 unless he has 500 Evolution Shards, and he currently only had 197 — not even half of what he needed. Evolution Shards are best obtained from many weak monsters because they are killed quickly and exist in large numbers.
The best scenario would be for Flain to find an undiscovered dungeon and have it all to himself, but Flain doubted he would find something like that.
Another option was to go and slaughter villages where there were many weak villagers. The problem was that the last time Itai’s undead wiped out a village, Flain gained 23 Evolution Shards — but villagers don’t respawn like monsters in a dungeon, so Flain would have to wipe out a lot of villages to gather the required Evolution Shards.
And the biggest problem was that Flain would have to slaughter at least 10 villages without being noticed, so that option was definitely out.
But then, there was still a third option...
