Demonic Skeleton God-Chapter 109: Third Eye
Chapter 109: Third Eye
Flain was walking through the academy, searching for the class where Third Eye was taught. Flain was confident in his senses — they were even far better than those of a normal Stage 3, even though he himself was only Early Stage 3, which was far from the average.
Flain found a crowd of people entering one of the classrooms — this was what Flain had been looking for. He also met Itai and Flor there, who had the same approach as Flain: to try out all the subjects.
Flain found himself in a large circular room, much bigger than a normal classroom. He sat down on a chair next to Flor and Itai. After a while, the students stopped arriving, and it was 9:30.
A professor walked in through the door. He was a stylish young man with black hair, dressed in a white lab coat that reached all the way to the ground and dragged behind him. But what stood out about him was that his eyes were bandaged, his nose was broken in such a way that he practically couldn’t breathe, and his ears were plugged.
Everyone looked at him in confusion — was this really supposed to be their professor? He looked more like a madman or a beggar asking the renowned for bronze coins.
"Greetings to all the new faces. To introduce myself, I am Nihon Yudri, professor of Third Eye. Before we begin the lesson, do you have any questions for me?" he asked as he stepped onto the platform.
The students began whispering among themselves, still not quite understanding why a noble who was also a teacher would look like that. The smarter ones, however, assumed it wasn’t just for show — it must have some special meaning.
"Why do you look the way you do?" someone among the students asked.
After that question, everyone perked up, because nearly all of them were curious about the answer and watched Nihon with interest. Flain didn’t care at all — he was just waiting for him to finally start teaching something.
"I was certain someone would ask that question, that’s why I gave you the opportunity to ask. My appearance serves to block the four most important senses: sight, hearing, smell, and touch. So in theory, I shouldn’t be able to use any of these senses, and yet I can still see, hear, breathe, and feel touch. I achieved this because I’ve refined these senses to an extreme level of perfection. I’ve devoted 654 years of my existence to this pursuit," Nihon said.
"If I removed all my barriers, I would reach an entirely different level. And you might achieve something similar under my guidance. In fact, I’ll give you a little challenge for 10,000 Mana Crystals. It’s simple — just try to touch me. The one who succeeds wins. I won’t remove a single one of my barriers, and you’re all free to attack me if you want," Nihon said and stretched out his arms.
The students began whispering among themselves again. Many stood up and prepared to attack. Flain stood up as well — although he doubted he had any chance, this week he had to act like an average, unremarkable student, so it was better to go along with the crowd.
"You may all come at me!" Nihon shouted.
The students charged forward, some even drawing weapons from their spatial rings.
The first wave of students lunged at him — everyone wanted those 10,000 Mana Crystals, and so they focused on nothing but Nihon. Because of that, some students were pushed to the back, and complete chaos broke out.
Some even used spells and techniques that injured the other students, causing many to collapse to the ground.
Nihon was like a wall — there was literally no room to dodge, yet he still managed to avoid every single attack. His movements were graceful, even beautiful.
In the end, most of the students ended up on the ground, including Flain, who only pretended to fall, and only a few remained standing — one of whom stood out: Akio Keshiru.
His arm transformed into a large mass of green slime aimed at Nihon. Nihon simply dodged backward, but Akio didn’t hesitate and released a layer of slime from his legs onto the ground, which surrounded Nihon.
Akio’s entire body became slime — he looked like some sort of humanoid slime monster. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
"You have five more seconds," said Nihon.
Akio didn’t waste any time and sent his arms toward Nihon, but Nihon just grimaced and took a few steps back. Akio’s head swelled and spewed a multitude of slime projectiles aimed at Nihon. But, to no one’s surprise, Nihon dodged them all.
"Time’s up," said Nihon.
Then, a green zone appeared around all those lying on the ground, beginning to heal them. The students slowly began to stand up and, defeated, started returning to their seats.
Akio reverted back to his human form. "It was an honor to fight you," he said and bowed, then took his seat as well.
All the students began whispering among themselves. "This contest demonstrated two things. One — to build your respect toward me. And two — so I could roughly assess the level of your sensory abilities. I must say, you’re some of the better students I’ve had. I even saw some very talented faces among you. Now, let’s begin the lesson," Nihon said.
For the remaining 25 minutes, Nihon explained in detail the four fundamental senses important for combat, making sure every student understood them well. He answered every question, and despite his appearance, he was very wise and charismatic.
The lecture ended, and the students began leaving the classroom. Flain was genuinely intrigued by it — he couldn’t imagine the effort it must have taken for Nihon to reach the level he described.
In any case, Flain hadn’t expected to be so interested. By the end of the day, Flain was still considering whether he would continue attending Third Eye classes or not.
Flain was walking through the academy, currently taking a short break before his next lecture, which was Lion’s Endurance...
