Demonic Pornstar System-Chapter 69: First Fight of the Paragon of Sin
Chapter 69 - First Fight of the Paragon of Sin
"Let me show you the might of my class, Arcane Archmage!" David yelled as he aimed his right hand at him and pointed with his finger, "[Arcane Bolt]!"
Kaiden wasn't just standing around like a dumbass while his enemy got ready—he was already in a posture that made him ready to pounce, and he did just that. Even before the transparent blue projectile was shot at him, he was dodging to the side.
That being said, he didn't anticipate the extreme velocity of this spell, it was like a bullet shot from a barrel. The only reason Kaiden escaped being teleported to safety as soon as the battle started was thanks to his quick reaction, coupled with David's unfamiliarity with both combat in general and with his spells in specific. Neither of them used their classes before this moment in time.
There was still a good distance separating them, so Kaiden elected to use his gap-closing ability. He understood the strategy that had to be utilized perfectly well. Against a mage, you gotta get up close and personal so that you can beat the shit out of them with your fists.
It was time to use his class, Paragon of Sin—a class built around the seven deadly sins as stances, each granting the holder unique abilities. However, the Heavenly Demon had restricted Kaiden's access to its full might until he proved himself worthy of being the successor by ranking the Demonic Pornstar System up multiple times. For now, he could only access a single stance.
"Mode: Wrath."
The moment Kaiden uttered the words, a palpable shift swept through the arena. His eyes shifted in color, flaring a deep, blood-red. They were glowing like embers of a raging inferno. It wasn't just a color change, though. There was a feral intensity to them, a wordless promise of violence.
The air around him grew heavy, vibrating with malevolent energy, making it harder to breathe for David. Even the referee gulped. As a high-tier, high-leveled person, these rookies should have utterly no effect on him, especially not the F-tier. Yet... he did.
Everyone nearby felt it—the raw, unending craving for violence radiating off of Kaiden.
He had become the harbinger of wrath.
That did not mean that Kaiden lost control of himself; he didn't become a raging wild beast. No, he was in full control, but the violent tendencies he could normally keep under a soft blanket, like most people in society, were freed—allowed to rampage freely.
Being the Paragon of Sin was not about overcoming archaic trials where your mind was invaded by overwhelming thoughts reminiscent of each sin. It was about using those sins as stances to reign supreme both on the battlefield and in life in general.
Kaiden tried silently casting his next spell, but nothing happened. It made sense in his head since the abilities he could cast silently were gained directly from the system and were labeled as 'skills' while the abilities normal awakened had were called 'spells.' His Paragon of Sin class was given to him by the system but not governed by the system. It was a normal class like any other.
Kaiden knew time was of the essence; he couldn't dwell on this topic. He had to put the man who became too arrogant for his own good in his place. "[Warpath]!" He bellowed, charging at David with twice the speed his body was capable of normally. This ability gave Kaiden a 25% damage reduction as well as increased speed, but it had a long cooldown. He knew he had to make good use of this chance.
"[A-Arcane Bolt]!" David yelled while accidentally biting into his tongue. The sight of the tall, menacing man rushing at him like a mad bull was downright terrifying.
The same bolt shot through the air and hit Kaiden in the shoulder, where it etched itself deep into his muscles. He winced from the pain but managed to bear with it.
His charge did not slow down despite the blood trickling from the wound. Even with the damage reduction's help, it was like being shot by a 9mm pistol. Kaiden was just too angry; his veins pumped full of adrenaline to care. All he could think about was seeing David's broken form apologizing to his girls.
"S-stop! Don't come any closer! [Arcane Pulse]!" His enemy screamed and turned both of his palms toward Kaiden, then physically pushed them forward as if he wanted to shove him back physically. His spell immediately shot out from his hands and hit Kaiden squarely in the chest, sending him flying back toward the edge of the arena from where he started.
*Thud!*
His battered body hit the ground, making his three lovers gasp in fright, accompanied by some in the audience who couldn't help but cheer for the underdog. Yes, most of them were female. The men were still too jealous due to the beauty of his girlfriends.
"Haha! You gave me a scare! Are you sure this class of yours is F-tier?" David shouted as bravery returned to him once he saw his opponent's unmoving figure on the ground.
"Seeing that I'm standing without a single scrape while you're lying on the ground with multiple injuries, I suppose the association made no mistake in the end. I think this is the time when we put an end to our childish rivalry. I'll be scouted by a top guild and make mountains of money while you will go back to uni and become an economist. You know what, I'm magnanimous; I'll hire you as my financial advisor if you prove yourself worthy."
Kaiden groaned in extreme pain. His body was that of a normal human because he was still level 1. Humans were not made sturdy enough to take such damage and remain in fighting condition. Yet, the Paragon of Sin couldn't allow himself to lose. Kaiden made a sudden move by aiming his hand at David and intoning, "[Fiery Burst]!"
A torrent of flames abruptly erupted from his fingers and shot toward David, where they exploded as if he'd just thrown a grenade at him. Numerous gasps sounded from the audience.
Did the F-tier just win?
