Chapter 53: Chapter 53: Official Introductions (1)

At night, two men could be seen standing on top of a building. " What are we doing here again?" Sam asked.

Adrian didn’t answer and just pointed, below, a woman in a suit came out of a bar looking exhausted.

She went to her car but it appeared she had lost her keys, she cursed while touching her pockets then found her keys.

" What do you want with this woman, she doesn’t smell like a Fayera, We’re not killing normal people now are we?" He asked.

Adrain said nothing and followed the car, with their speed following a car was not a problem.

She drove to a nice neighborhood near the outskirts of the city, the place was quiet with a few houses.

But each house was more beautiful than the last and obviously expensive with yards large enough to build a soccer stadium.

Sanchez drove to one of these houses, this house was even more beautiful, calling it a house doesn’t do it justice.

It was a literal palace with a maze garden, at the back there was a golf court. The gate opened on its own.

She drove inside, Adrain paused outside the gates. He was standing on top of a tall tree, his eyes focused.

He could see the minor details around the house, there were cameras in every angle and motion detectors everywhere.

He took a deep breath, the cameras were easy enough, he had an ability that turns him invisible even though he it didn’t last very long.

He had no idea how motion detectors work or if they could still identify him even if he was invisible.

He looked through his mind to search for any useful ability then remembered that he had one.

He just wasn’t sure it would work here, it was same ability he had used when he faced those two agents.

It appeared as if he teleported but that was not the case, the ability just enhanced his speed to absurd levels in a short distance.

To be honest he would be lying if he said he fully understood how the ability worked, if he has to to explain it though.

It shrunk space by 10 metres or less, it wasn’t teleportation nor was it traditional speed enhancement.

He took a deep breath and moved.

Sanchez got to her house, she parked her car in the garage then opened the door and went inside her house.

The house was dark, her partner had left not along ago, while they haven’t broken up she knew it was inevitable.

She had become too obsessed with her work causing a strain in her relationship. She used her phone to turn the light on.

First thing she did was open her laptop and check the security footage to see if they caught anything.

Her house had always had cameras and motion detectors since she was a kid but lately, she has multiplied them by more 10 times.

They were everywhere, she too realised she was going nut but what could she do with everything she now knows.

There was nothing in the footage and she went to make herself some coffee. The coffee boiled.

She poured herself and cup and just as she put it on her mouth the light went out, she reacted quickly and pulled out her gun.

She reached into the shelf nearby and took out a torch. Slowly she walked out of the kitchen with a gun and a torch.

She went for her phone but when she got to the living room she saw a shadow sitting on her table.

Without a second thought she pulled the trigger but the shadow disappeared so fast she wondered if she was seeing things.

She took a step forward and went around the table but there was nothing there, then her torch died.

She tapped it a few times but it did not light up, the torch was new so she knew this was not natural.

She reached for her phone but it was gone from the table, now she was certain something was inside her house.

She grew nervous, her heart started beating fast, while she acted brave at work she still feared death and even more so the unknown.

At the very least she can shoot criminals back, she couldn’t even see her enemy this time.

" Come out, show yourself I know you’re here. If you don’t I’ll trigger the alarm and cops will be here in minutes."

She threatened but she was bluffing, the alarm button was too far from her current position.

" And do what?" A voice answered, or rather a hundred voices all at once from every direction.

She turned around and pointed her gun everywhere but saw nobody.

" A hundred cops will be here in minutes, I don’t care who you are..."

" You should." The voices interrupted her before she could finish.

" A hundred, a thousand, you’re no fool detective, we both know all you’ll be doing is sending innocent people to their deaths."

When the last word came out it no longer sounded like a hundred voice but one voice of a young man.

It spoke behind her so close she could feel his breath on her neck, she turned and saw two silver eyes glaring directly at her.

She raised her gun and tried to pull the trigger but it did not budge, before she could react he grabbed her neck and her vision blurred.

Her back rammed against the wall on the other side of the room, considering how big her house was, that was a massive distance.

She couldn’t understand how they could move across the room so fast. " Who..are you?" She asked in a choking voice, her feet were dangling nearly an entire metre above the floor.

Adrian slightly released the grip on her neck letting her breathe. " I think you know who I am detective."

Sanchez couldn’t see the face of the person choking her but she somehow knew exactly who it was.

" Adrain, please don’t do this, killing me won’t solve anything." She tried to reason with him, she was really scared and felt helpless.

" Kill you, detective I think you have the wrong id..." He paused and sniffed the air then his face became visible.

He was even more handsome than in the pictures that girl Annie showed but his face was frowning.

He turned his head towards the front gate, she followed his gaze but the front gates was too far for her to see anything.

Adrain sniffed the air again, " Blood Suckers" He whispered. " Well detective, it seems we’ll have to continue our conversation a bit later."

Just as he said that, the motion detectors were triggered and the alarm went off, Sanchez saw a blur and Adrian was gone.

By the time her feet touched the ground he was already out the door.
