Demon Lord: Erotic Adventure in Another World-Chapter 762: Reunited!
Asmodeus sighed while turning away. He faced Brando, ignoring the piercing eyes of Funf. Behind his brother, six men stood with makeshift weapons in hand, two bowmen, two spearmen and a tank with a shield.
"Can you still fight?"
"Of course!"
The surrounding gates rattled after a long silence.
Although the corpses of orcs, an ogre and various other monsters littered the grounds, it appeared they weren’t through.
Opposite their group, two enormous gates remained.
One to the north and another to the east.
"Can you still make those walls with your earth magic?"
Asmodeus remained focused on the northern gate, his golden eyes shimmering as he watched the dark figures hidden within.
’Damn it!’
He could make out several vague humanoid figures, but because a strange veil covered the entrance, even his divine eyes couldn’t see them. Though at the north, a tall female stood at the entrance of the gate.
’What a familiar figure.’
"I can probably make a wall at most, brother."
Brando lowered his head, but Asmodeus couldn’t blame his lack of enthusiasm. The war orcs killed a few of his men and almost wiped them out. It wasn’t his place to blame or judge Brando’s performance.
"Then make a wall that protects against the eastern gate."
His words spurred the bald men on as he quickly jogged towards the eastern gate and placed his hands on the ground.
The rumble that followed shook the entire arena.
A beautiful wall made of sand, earth and magic sprouted slowly like a flower blooming.
"How tall do you need it, brother?"
Brando yelled back with beads of sweat pouring from his face.
Asmodeus shifted his eyes to the eastern gate, watching the creature inside with furrowed brows. He couldn’t help but glare at Funf, who floated above. There were limits to how far someone should go.
’These bastards.’
Hidden in the darkness, a monstrous figure awaited them, not something Brando or his with Martha could kill.
He clenched his jaw while gripping his halberd, although he could fight. Asmodeus knew that most of the humans would die once that gate opened. There was no chance for them to resist this beast.
’I was set up.’
His eyes darted between the VIP seats, the stage and back to where Nerim sat.
Asmodeus didn’t understand why. All his parallel minds came to the same conclusion. This auction might be legitimate on the surface, but someone seemed to have set a trap to capture or kill him.
’That dumb woman doesn’t seem capable.’
He crossed Funf from his mental note. Asmodeus then tried to consider who knew he’d be at this auction at first. ’No.’ He stopped. Maybe that wasn’t the plan. They designed this to capture an unknown enemy from the start.
"Make it five metres tall, and extra thick. Are you able to condense the sand, making it fire-resistant?"
"Fire resistant?"
Brando tilted his head.
"Yes, it needs to be resistant to fire."
Brando glanced back at Nikolai with wide eyes. "Let me think about it." He then rubbed his chin before nodding. Then, immediately place both hands against the sand and take a deep breath.
A low throb echoed around him as mana flowed around his body like a snake.
Asmodeus paused, his eyes locked on the movement of the snake that Brando created. "Impressive." He whispered. "But there’s a little mistake with your magic circle. Let me help you." He pointed at a slightly crooked part of the snake before clenching his stomach.
If Brando’s mana could equal a snake flowing freely, then Asmodeus’s resembled a great dragon flying above as he poured a massive amount of demonic energy into the snake, wrapping Brando. The apparition’s colour deepened to a brilliant green, while the density increased rapidly.
"W-Woah, is this me!?"
"Of course not, idiot, focus on the movement of my mana." Asmodeus sighed. "Use me to learn how to strengthen your magic circle and spells. This lesson is quite expensive, don’t lose your focus for a second, or I’ll stop helping."
"A-Ah, brother, please!"
The golden wall stretched further and further thanks to Brando’s magic, while Asmodeus helped condense and strengthen the fire resistance by pouring his abundant mana into the wall without a care.
Meanwhile, above them, the voices of the announcers started again.
"It’s time for the main event!"
"The battle you’ve all been waiting for is about to begin!"
"Place those bets, will the red crush the blue like always, or will our mystery beast destroy them all?!"
A glowing box appeared in front of Asmodeus.
"Oh? That’s good."
Even though he left his crystal, the betting screen appeared and showed him a newly added set of buttons.
[Red Win]
[Blue Win]
[Beast Win]
[Release the Beast] [10,000/100,000,000]
Each of the different win buttons started to grow, with the blue side having only a few thousand. Asmodeus glanced up at Nerim’s crystal with a smirk. The amount bet on team blue was exactly how much he’d given her as spending money.
He watched as she tapped the screen and shouted inside the crystal chair with words likely enough to shock an old person.
She didn’t seem to notice his glance.
"Now the bets are in!" Funf’s sensual voice oozed seduction. She sprawled on a chair, with her chest pressing against the arm, which revealed the deep cleavage sealed between her plump mounds. "Let the battle begin, Mwah!"
A pink heart flew from her lips.
"Here we go, prepare yourself. I’ll deal with the enemy’s vanguard; you and your brothers just remain on this wall."
Asmodeus pulled back his hands, the wall reaching an ideal height with a charred black colour from the fire resistance. He kicked off the floor, leaping into the air, travelling dozens of metres with a single movement and landed close to the north gate.
"Let’s see what you have."
Vwoosh!
He flicked his halberd in a circle before catching the shaft in his armpit and lowering his stance, ready.
Horns sounded.
The black metal gates shook as they began to lower with a grating noise.
Asmodeus took another breath, steadying his mana and breath. There wasn’t a flicker of gold or black wrapping his body, only a pulse of purple demonic energy that reverberated along his halberd.
Clack!
Time almost felt frozen as the gate slowly opened.
Unlike the monsters, there was no loud charge, roar, or buzz of battle music.
His aura spread like a tsunami.
A single woman stepped forward, beautiful with a sharp jaw, soft cheeks and a familiar face.
’Martha?’
He instantly recognised her.
The feisty wife of his brother looked different from the past, now with dark tanned skin, strange markings across her face and a slightly swollen stomach. He didn’t see a warrior but a mother, desperate to protect her child.
"Long time no see, boss." Martha greeted him in a low, gritty voice.
"Have you been well... how is the baby?"
Asmodeus dragged his aura back like reeling in a fish, letting it wrap around his body like a violent dragon. A slight tingle pricked his flesh as he couldn’t help but second-guess himself at the unexpected situation.
"The baby is strong, like his father."
Martha’s gaze shifted to the distant wall, her lips curling into a broad smile. "Did you see how hard he fought to impress you and protect me?" She beamed.
’This idiotic couple...’
He couldn’t attack her, so he stood up, releasing his domineering aura.
"Let’s not fight."
"The monster hiding in the dark will wipe us both out."
Asmodeus watched the bidding panel from the corner of his eye with a sigh. The crowd appeared to wish their deaths as the million bid was only a few thousand short.
He scanned the gate behind Martha to find several female warriors.
Their bodies were stout with countless wounds and scars, but somehow, this added to their exotic and proud beauty.
"Leader, what is going on?"
A young black-haired warrior holding a spear, wearing a leather tunic and skirt made from what appeared to be tiger hide and fur. With thick, black leather boots protecting her calves and shins from damage.
Martha’s lips twisted as she looked back.
"Kiki, the enemy is my husband and his men."
"!!!!"
Kiki, the young warrior, and the other women all made a swooning noise while looking at Asmodeus with fierce, judgmental eyes.
Tall, muscular, and heroic, with two demon horns.
"L-Leader, your husband is amazing!" Kiki squealed while watching Asmodeus intently.
The young girl and others seemed to have misunderstood, causing both Asmodeus and Martha to smirk at each other before she looked back and corrected them.
"Ah, no... this isn’t my husband but my boss."
Asmodeus opened his mouth, but the gates to the east shook before lowering. Instantly, the beast inside became wild and slammed against the walls with a low roar. Everyone trembled at the dragon’s roar, their eyes dragging towards the east as if reluctant.
"It’s a wyvern."
"Is that like a dragon?" Martha snapped out of her daze, but slight bumps spread along her bare skin, revealing her true emotions.
"Boss!"
Brando’s shout came from a distance.
"It looks like we need to prepare for a battle. I won’t ask you to fight in your state, Martha. Take your people and join Brando. He should have a few crossbows to use; take these just in case."
He lifted his hand, before the ring on his wedding finger shone, and several heavy crossbows, explosive and piercing bolts dropped in a pile. The female warriors from the red team all watched his actions with their jaws wide open.
Spears, swords, shields, anything he bought over a certain level of defence, he left for them to grab.
’Thank god I bought all this while dating Nerim.’
"Martha, I will keep the wyvern’s attention and fight it head-on. I hope you and Brando can show me your fabled teamwork from the ocean." He curled his lips, and with a loud gust of wind, his wings unfurled and flapped in the air.
"Don’t worry, I’ll ensure you two can return."
Asmodeus took flight before she could answer, his face tingling from the hot, desert wind as his figure shot towards the eastern gate while gathering power.
’Damn lizard, think I don’t recognise you?!"
