Demon Hunter and His Cabin-Chapter 124 - : Waning Moon Witch’s Sword
Chapter 124: Chapter 124: Waning Moon Witch’s Sword
Roger drove towards Bordeaux City.
Just now, Crater had called to inform him that the Steel Sword was complete and asked him to come to Royal Street to collect it as soon as possible.
He had thought he would have to wait a while, but this time Crater seemed to have been inspired by a fervor for creation, setting aside his other work to focus solely on forging Roger’s Steel Sword.
Knowing the way well, he drove fast and arrived near Royal Street in less than two hours.
This time, he didn’t need to go through the dark passage. Instead, Roger took a detour and came directly underground via an elevator from another entrance.
Crater seemed quite busy, and Roger had to wait a good while before it was his turn.
However, upon seeing Roger, Crater was very pleased, his face glowing red, and even his wrinkles seemed to have smoothed out a bit.
“Thanks to those materials of yours, I feel like my forging skills have climbed another step.”
“Take a look, this is my best work in nearly 10 years!”
Crater presented a narrow iron box.
Roger was also a bit excited in his heart. Having poured a fortune in precious metals, plus the extremely unique Witch’s Skull, if he didn’t get a good sword out of it, he would indeed be at a great loss.
In fact, if he had kept the Witch’s Skull, once he assimilated a new Hunter’s Cabin, placing it inside would definitely have added a lot of experience.
But by comparison, now without a sword in his hand, his combat power had greatly decreased. Prioritizing, a good sword would greatly enhance his strength, so after much consideration, Roger decided to infuse the Witch’s Skull into the weapon.
He opened the iron box.
A Steel Sword, about three fingers wide, lay quietly inside.
Simplicity.
This was Roger’s first impression of the whole sword: forgoing complex patterns and impractical decorations, the new Steel Sword was entirely silvery-white, with only an unknown brown beast skin wrapped around the hilt.
“This is a little personal treasure of mine, still some trinkets left over from the ancients. Don’t be fooled by the small surface area of this leather, but it fits just right here.”
Crater said with a smile.
“You’ll know the specifics when you use it.”
The Longsword’s blade was slightly longer than the previous Steel Sword; the overall curvature from the tip to the spine was moderate, fluid with a hint of beauty that made one unconsciously overlook its lethality and regard it as a piece of craftsmanship.
Roger reached out to take the weapon from the box, and it sank slightly in his hand. This weight was at least double that of his previous sword, but it felt just right for the current Roger.
The blade was also slightly thicker than ordinary weapons. With a slight swing in his hand, Roger could feel the shift in the weapon’s weight.
The previous Steel Sword had a balanced distribution of weight, making it a standard weapon. However, this new one in his hand had a slightly increased weight towards the front.
This would allow for smoother chopping movements due to the shifted center of gravity, also slightly increasing the power of the strikes.
“I observed your attack habits the other day, so I made a slight adjustment to the weight distribution of the weapon,” Crater explained.
Roger nodded, quite satisfied with this small detail.
With a flick of his wrist, the Longsword danced around the room, and with just a few simple adjustments, it seemed to have become part of Roger’s body.
A glint of light flowed over the blade, momentarily giving it a special luster.
“In the scrap pieces you brought back last time, there was nothing of value except for the tip of a weapon.”
Crater offered an explanation.
“That small piece of metal seemed to be coated with an unknown substance, altering the entire metal’s properties. It took a lot of effort to preserve this quality, then I melted it and spread it evenly over the blade.”
“Although it hasn’t been tested specifically yet, this weapon should damage a Spiritual Body to a certain extent even without any special Potions applied, and might even block some special attacks.”
“For instance, spells from witches or magicians.”
“You’ll need to figure out the specifics on your own.”
Crater added in conclusion.

“Alright, now that you’ve got your items, scram.”
“This is my proudest work to date. If I hold onto it any longer, I might be tempted to keep it for myself.”
Roger ran his fingers over the blade, unable to hide his excitement. In terms of appearance, functionality, and compatibility, this weapon was an excellent match for him.
With this weapon, his strength had skyrocketed by a huge margin!
Unlike Crater, Roger didn’t need to explore the weapon’s features, as the notice board provided detailed descriptions about its characteristics.
Waning Moon Witch’s Sword: A metal longsword forged from sea rock iron, wood steel, a witch’s skull, and meteor dust among other materials.
Demon Break: The blade has been infused with a strange energy, granting it a certain degree of spirit-breaking and energy-suppressing effects. It has terrifying lethality against evil spirits and spiritual bodies of lesser ranks.
It can also cause considerable damage to monster spirits; the special vibrations emanating from the sword suppress the energy of spellcasters.
Shielding: The wood steel mixed into the weapon can shield it from scans by modern electronic devices.
Interference: The remnant soul within the witch’s skull, merged into the blade, produces a wind-breaking sound when the weapon is swung. This noise has the potential to disrupt the enemy’s mental focus, with a certain chance of causing sensory misjudgment.
A man relies on his clothes as a horse relies on its saddle; a refined weapon not only enhances a Demon Hunter’s strength but also their value, and at the same time, boosts the reputation of the Hunter’s Cabin.
The weapon’s sharpness and solidity speak for themselves, but these three additional abilities are also extremely practical. Demon Break allowed Roger’s combat effectiveness against spiritual bodies and spellcasting targets to rise.
Shielding would enable him to carry the weapon through special areas with security screening equipment.
As for the last ability, Interference, although he had not tested it, he vividly remembered the Prophet’s disruption against Henrik. Without that ability, she probably would have been killed by Henrik quickly given her condition at the time.
After all, the Prophet only had the knowledge of a Waning Moon peak-level witch but her actual strength had decreased far too much.
Just as he was about to leave, Crater called out to Roger.
“And take this!”
He casually tossed a sword sheath to Roger.
“Consider it an extra gift from me.”
“The last item was made by me. Now that you’ve got a new weapon, the old one obviously won’t fit.”
“It was my first time making one, so naturally there were some rough edges and many design flaws. I’ve upgraded the sword sheath a bit, so you should find it more convenient to use.”
“Also, dispose of that old trash to avoid giving the impression that my craftsmanship has deteriorated!”
“I can’t thank you enough!”
Roger said with a smile.
This thing might look simple, but the design process is quite intricate. Crater’s willingness to help went beyond a mere matter of money.
“Work hard,” Crater said, his face full of longing.
“I truly hope to see the glory of the old hunters’ heritage.”
“After all, close-quarters combat is the true romance for a man!”
