Demon Cultivator in Abyssal Era-Chapter 402 - 209: Peach Blossom Spring (Part 2)
"A very unique method of cultivation, quite different from the Awakened, is this the Power slowly cultivated in a world not Devoured by the Abyss?"
Chu Xiu thought to himself.
He could sense that as he observed these soldiers, they were also watching him. However, their gazes were anything but friendly, even carrying a hint of disdain. Yet, as Chu Xiu passed by, each one of them knelt on one knee to show respect.
"Hmm, it seems that this so-called ’Elder’ isn’t very popular."
At that moment, Chu Xiu’s eyes suddenly flickered, looking toward a certain room.
It was an unremarkable house tucked away in a corner of the military camp, like the others, sealed with a thick steel door.
A gentle female voice emanated from within.
"Seventh Brother, the Elders from the temple have arrived. Quickly put away your things, don’t let them see."
Soon after, a young male voice filled with disdain spoke up: "What are you afraid of? How could those bald monks who only know how to chase women possibly come to such a filthy place?"
"Seventh Brother! Keep your voice down! Buddhist Elders have vast Divine Techniques, who knows what methods they have? Besides... our camp isn’t entirely made up of trustworthy brothers, Fourth Brother, isn’t he..."
The girl’s voice gradually weakened, and the young man fell silent as well.
After a while, his voice, dripping with hatred, rang out: "One day, I will settle the score with those bald monks for Fourth Brother’s revenge and that snitch; I will make him wish for death."
"Yes, yes, but hurry and put your things away now."
"Alright," the young man replied without further argument, just chuckling, "Sister, don’t be too nervous. I’ve soundproofed this place as recorded in the book, those bald monks who claim to be gods are actually just Mortals like us who happen to cultivate advanced Martial Arts, they definitely won’t discover..."
"Bang!"
Mid-sentence, a deafening crash rang out, and the heavy steel door was kicked open, revealing the cloaked figure of Chu Xiu, slowly walking in.
The young man and woman inside stood in shock, staring in disbelief at Chu Xiu. Once they processed the scene, their faces turned deathly pale!
"You, you are...."
"Elder! Where are you going? Wait for me!"
Before finishing, the soldier leading the way came running in, panting heavily. Upon seeing the pair before Chu Xiu, his steps halted sharply, and his face was filled with intense fear as his body began to tremble uncontrollably.
"El-Elder, this is a misunderstanding, th-these artifacts were discovered accidentally while eliminating those ’Hungry Ghosts’; we hadn’t had time to report it yet; there was no intention to violate the commandments!"
The soldier’s teeth chattered, but Chu Xiu could see that he had already sunk into extreme terror, still forcing himself to explain for the young man.
Upon hearing the soldier refer to Chu Xiu as Elder, the young man let out a bitter laugh, suddenly understanding his situation. His face still bore disbelief, unable to fathom why a "Buddhist Elder" would suddenly show up. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
But even as disbelief lingered, he quickly accepted reality, kneeling down and calmly stating: "Honorable Elder, I possess forbidden items and know there is no escape for me. Punish according to the commandments, whether it’s dismemberment or burning, I harbor no resentment. I only ask that you don’t take it out on the other brothers in this camp; they are all good soldiers fighting for the Buddha."
"Seventh Brother!" The girl looked at the young man, her face full of despair.
Chu Xiu aside: ...
Wait a minute, I haven’t said a word yet, what are you all acting out?
Still, he couldn’t be bothered to speak with them any further, merely shifting his gaze to what they referred to as "forbidden items."
There lay a book on the verge of falling apart, and several dismantled modern industrial items.
Chu Xiu merely glanced at them and lost interest, shifting his focus behind the young man and lightly pointing a finger.
Suddenly, an invisible Giant Strength descended upon him, and with a thunderous noise, the entire wall behind the young man exploded, revealing a well-preserved secret room.
Within the room were numerous books, at a glance at least a hundred of them, along with many old modern artifacts, some large like discarded appliances, others small like simple toys, filling several cabinets densely.
Clearly, each item had been carefully categorized and well preserved.
This sight made the already bloodless faces of the three even paler!
If the few forbidden items before could still be barely explained away, perhaps executing one or two people would gloss it over; the multitude of forbidden items before them undeniably pointed to treason, impossible to easily ignore.
Not even the death of one or two people would suffice; even the General might accompany them to their demise!
The young man’s face was ashen, and the other two were filled with despair.
Nevertheless, Chu Xiu remained expressionless, simply pointing again, causing the hundred books to flip open, unwavered by any breeze, as his Divine Sense swept through. An overwhelming surge of knowledge flooded his mind.
This sight deepened the despair on the faces of the others.
They had never seen, no, not even heard of such a mysterious Divine Technique before! The person before them must be an influential figure within the Buddhist Sect.
Chu Xiu, however, was unconcerned with what the three thought. In truth, he cared not about what was forbidden or not, nor about their secret maneuvers.
He was merely drawn by sensing numerous books with his Divine Sense and came over for a glance.
