Chapter 885: Chapter 22: The Seven Angel Leaders (5k)

The seven beings before Fisher far exceeded the limits of what he could imagine. Even though they had restrained their auras, their mere presence constantly triggered his biological instinct to avoid harm. He couldn’t look them in the eye because it felt like the moment he raised his gaze, he would be utterly devoured by death. Even the rules of the world would twist in the face of their rank...

"Then let’s begin, Helair, you will preside."

Under that extremely terrifying and slender suppression, the dazzling light on the high platform in front of them slowly dimmed. Then, a calm and ethereal female voice came from that direction. Fisher looked up; the speaker seemed to be a female Angel seated at the center of the high platform.

This Angel had white hair and was not as tall as the other Angels; she was quite "short" in comparison. At least, she was compared to the Angels, and her physique was similar to that of a human. However, her terrifying aura, dazzling brilliance, and the three pairs of huge, illusory, silver wings behind her all indicated that she was an Angel Leader of an extremely terrifying rank.

What was surprising was that her face didn’t have "eyes." Where there should have been eyes, there was only a flat, seamless surface, covered by two shining lines. Above her head was a halo of seven colors, twisting with countless pulsating sediments.

She seemed to be blind.

Helair, standing beside her, nodded and straightened up, then began to introduce to the seven beings on the high platform,

"Yes, Lord Sariel. My lords, six days ago, this member of the Whale-man Species trespassed from the first day’s territory into the second day, attempting to visit Lord Raphael but was caught by the compatriots of the second day; four days ago, this male human appeared out of nowhere in the second day and was similarly caught by compatriots there; yesterday, this female human also appeared out of nowhere in the second day... Let’s not speak of the Whale-man Species for now, but these two, just like the previous one, they should be the Transferees."

"What of the Transferees? Violating divine laws warrants a death penalty. The last handling was improper, and if we repeat this time, soon, all unknown creatures appearing out of nowhere will be treated as Transferees and kept."

After Helair finished speaking, the Angel with short black hair sitting in the second position on the left side let out a cold snort and spoke.

The first and second Angels on the left side were both male and looked almost identical, except one had golden hair and the other black hair. The golden-haired one always bore a benevolent smile, and his eyes shimmered with a soft golden glow; the black-haired one always kept his eyes wide open, with a fierce flame of retribution burning within.

Upon hearing the black-haired Angel speak, the golden-haired Angel, similar to him, also spoke in harmony,

"Although I do not agree with executing them, it indeed isn’t good to allow living creatures under the Holy Land to freely ascend to other skies, as it might cause unrest... The gods’ gifts have already descended upon the first day through Remiel’s hand, and to proceed further would be overstepping... Michael, last time we entrusted the Transferee to you because of your appeal, please do not trouble Uriel and Raguel again this time, okay?"

Transferees?

Are there other Transferees in the Holy Land?

Fisher heard this and his expression shifted slightly. Next to him, Tangze Asuka, who had been retching, also lifted her head slightly, seemingly having heard that there were others like her from Earth.

Hearing Raphael’s words, the tall, handsome, androgynous Angel with long, red hair sitting to Sariel’s right closed their eyes and didn’t agree but rather said,

"That Transferee is quite helpful to our forging. That’s why I kept him. You’ve all witnessed his miraculous capabilities before, and I don’t wish to explain further to you."

"I understand, Michael."

The Angel known as "Michael" spoke with a hostile tone, but surprisingly, Raphael, Uriel, and Raguel, whom he indirectly criticized, did not directly refute him. Even Raphael’s previous tone carried a hint of negotiation...

Fisher keenly realized that among these Angel Leaders, there were differences in status, and they were not all equal.

Then, about Pandora that Renie mentioned earlier... Sariel is the only one who can communicate with the Heavenly Lock as a Divine Envoy, and she even holds the Holy Grail capable of granting angels’ wishes. Therefore, her status should be the highest, which is why she sits in the center of the seven. By extension, the ones sitting on her left and right should be the second and third in rank.

The third Angel Leader is Michael, who manages the affairs of forging and warfare on the Fifth Day, and is the one who just spoke rudely. So, the one sitting to her left should be the second-ranked Angel Leader...

Fisher carefully observed the divine appearances of the Angel Leaders above as the divine light gradually darkened overhead, but he quickly noticed that the Angel seated to Pandora’s left was a very peculiar being.

This was a female Angel with long, light brown hair, with no pairs of illusory wings behind her, only countless floating, eye-like, virtual ring-shaped halos. Even more oddly was her posture.

She was almost lying sideways on her seat, her expression somewhat vacant, seemingly not listening to the debate among the other Angel Leaders. She sat dazedly to the left of Sariel, embracing a strangely shaped, round crystal.
