Chapter 1094: Chapter 90: Macaron

The towering stone tower at the center of the Ideal Country seems to be the only building that has existed since its construction. From the outside, it appears extremely magnificent, but inside there isn’t much decoration, giving it a rather cold and desolate vibe.

The overall tower presents a four-layer hollow structure, but in the middle, a stone pillar rises straight up to the top level. Fisher isn’t sure what it’s for, but he feels that the moment he entered, his body temperature dropped slightly, as if certain presences around him had become more active.

Margaret smiled and walked ahead, with Uncle Chun following behind her. They ascended the spiral staircase attached to the tower, and she spoke,

"In fact, I noticed you when you first entered the Tree Continent and met Chun, but I didn’t reveal myself recklessly because it might have brought disaster to Chun. If Master Tao hadn’t attempted to fall upon you with a butcher’s knife, I wouldn’t have been forced to use the Weaver to delay her with the truth."

Fisher watched her back and asked,

"So, you’re the one who veiled fate."

"Yes, Master Tao of the past was powerful but had fatal flaws. The blessings of the past are both blessings and constraints, blinding Master Tao, making her easy to lose her way. As long as she doesn’t know how I stole the Destiny Loom, she won’t know the extent of my control over the Weaver now, so she won’t dare to act rashly."

Margaret and the others soon arrived at the top of the tower. The top was an open structure, ventilated on all sides, allowing a clear view of the Ideal Country below and the undulating mountains beyond.

It was here that the stone pillar in the center of the tower finally reached its end, revealing itself as an extremely deep pool of water. Fisher cast his eyes into it, seeing only pitch black, as if the pool were bottomless like the Abyss.

The furnishings beside the pool were extremely simple: a large bed, a big table, and several chairs made from Chun Wood. The number of chairs corresponded exactly to the number of people present, suggesting that Margaret already knew how many guests to expect.

On the table were several stacks of exquisitely crafted desserts and some kind of unknown leaf-infused tea from the Otherworld. Smiling, Margaret introduced them to Fisher and the others,

"These are local adaptations of my hometown desserts, macarons and chestnut cakes. Please, let’s eat and chat."

Fisher and the others took their seats. Tangze Asuka initially wanted to sit in the position closest to Fisher, but Helair had already claimed that spot with a smile, and there was no place on Fisher’s other side, leaving the vacant seat next to Margaret on the opposite side of the table.

She glanced at the other side’s position, but before she moved, Margaret across the table waved her over with a smile, saying,

"Asuka, if you don’t mind, sit next to me?"

"Huh?"

Tangze Asuka was slightly taken aback, and Margaret looked at her, thinking she might have addressed her incorrectly,

"Hmm? I heard that with Japanese names, the surname comes first, and the personal name comes after. Did I address you incorrectly?"

"Ah, no, no, no..."

Tangze Asuka laughed, waving her hand, then glanced at Fisher, before carefully sitting down next to Margaret, forming a circle around the table with the others.

Margaret smiled at Asuka as she pulled out her chair and sat down, her gaze lingering on her until Asuka had settled in her seat, still scanning her up and down.

"Lady Margaret, is there something wrong with me?" 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

"No, not at all..." Margaret was momentarily stunned by the question, then picked up her teacup with a smile, taking a sip before saying, "It’s just that you seem so young yet not a child, at the most beautiful time. I once had a daughter, and if she were still here, she’d likely be about your age. I wonder if she would have been as tall as you are..."

"This... I heard you mention it in Master Tao’s barrier realm as well..."

"Haha, because six months ago I was still myself. I’m constantly thinking of my child, and now is no exception."

Margaret’s gaze drifted for a moment, quietly watching the rippleless pool. Asuka also looked at her profile until a second or two passed, and she withdrew her gaze before speaking,

"Alright, back to business. I think I already know your purpose for visiting the Tree Continent earlier and coming to the Ideal Country now. It’s for the World Tree’s teardrop, right?"

Fisher nodded and said to Margaret,

"Precisely. If we’re not mistaken, the World Tree’s teardrop is merely a byproduct of the Destiny Loom, which is why we ventured here. We’ve prepared a reward for it. If you have any needs, you may ask. We only want the World Tree’s teardrop."

The negotiations quickly progressed, and at such times, Tangze Asuka tended to remain silent, listening cautiously from the side, as she had little experience in such matters before coming to the Otherworld.

Indeed, her only experience with bargaining involved negotiating with classmates over the rights to the last fried noodle bun at the store in exchange for math homework answers.

Margaret was about to respond when she caught sight of Tangze Asuka’s adorably tense and uptight demeanor out of the corner of her eye. She smiled slightly, placing the untouched dessert in front of Tangze Asuka and whispered to her,
