Deceiving Her Ears: Ignoring Your Call-Chapter 61: What About You, Isaac Vaughn? What Do You Want?
The car door opened, and Julian Beckett stepped out.
Seeing Isaac Vaughn still holding onto Natalie Kendall, his expression darkened.
The Beckett family had something to send to Mount Corvix, it should have been his father, Matthew Beckett, who would come.
But his father had something come up, so he was the one who came. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
Luckily, it was him who came.
"Nat, what are you doing here so late?" Julian spoke in a deep voice, "Come over, I’ll take you back."
Natalie Kendall forcefully broke free from Isaac Vaughn’s embrace, gave him a cold glance, and stepped towards her brother.
Since the last time Isaac Vaughn took her away from the old Beckett residence, and her brother gave her a phone to talk to Isaac Vaughn, Natalie Kendall knew her brother and Isaac Vaughn must have already talked.
But even so, being caught by her brother with Isaac Vaughn still made her feel panicked.
Julian Beckett opened the passenger door, waited for Natalie Kendall to get in, got in himself, and drove through the gate.
Half an hour later, he came down from Mount Corvix.
Isaac Vaughn was still there.
*
Julian Beckett drove with a cold face.
In the passenger seat, Isaac Vaughn took out a cigarette and put it in his mouth.
Thinking of something, he turned his head and asked, "Do you mind?"
Julian Beckett said nothing.
Isaac Vaughn shrugged, rolled down the window halfway, and lit the cigarette.
The smell of alcohol lingered on him, and his face still showed signs of being in a fight.
Running to Mount Corvix in the middle of the night to hold Natalie Kendall like this.
Made Julian Beckett feel displeased.
"How’s your uncle? I heard the experts came for a consultation. What did they say?"
Isaac Vaughn exhaled a puff of smoke, "No idea when he’ll wake up."
We can only hope for a miracle.
But there are not so many miracles in this world.
Thinking of this, Isaac Vaughn’s eyes darkened, and he extinguished the cigarette.
"Some things, I think I should make clear." Julian Beckett suddenly spoke, "I plan to send Nat abroad."
Upon hearing this, Isaac Vaughn turned his head towards Julian Beckett, his tone cold, "Did she agree?"
"About going abroad, the latest will be after her birthday." Julian Beckett paused and then spoke coldly, "So you two stop here. It’s good for both of you."
Isaac Vaughn curved his lips, "Ha. So Natalie Kendall didn’t agree at all, did she?"
Julian Beckett furrowed his brows.
Isaac Vaughn said lazily, "I don’t know if Natalie Kendall told you, but actually, she and I have been registered long ago."
"Screech!"
The car suddenly braked on the roadside.
Julian Beckett turned his head and looked at Isaac Vaughn in disbelief.
Isaac Vaughn met his gaze, half-smiling, "Anyway, all you want is the shares Natalie Kendall has. Once she’s married, the shares go into effect. You take the shares and stop bothering her, just like before."
After a slight pause, his tone was mocking, "Don’t act like you genuinely care for her."
Julian Beckett gripped the steering wheel tightly, his body tense, his face looking nasty.
After a long silence, he sneered, "And what about you? Isaac Vaughn, what do you want from this? Don’t tell me you have a heart!"
Isaac Vaughn’s face was calm, but his eyes suddenly flashed with cold light.
—
Returning home in the middle of the night.
Isaac Vaughn unexpectedly saw his father in the living room.
Ansel Vaughn had a medical kit on the table in front of him, looking over, he indeed saw the injury on Isaac Vaughn’s face still untreated.
"Still up? Waiting for me?"
Isaac Vaughn walked over and sat down casually.
Ansel Vaughn pushed the medical kit forward, "Take care of it yourself."
Saying this, he got up and headed upstairs.
Behind him, there was a "bang" sound.
Ansel Vaughn turned around to see Isaac Vaughn had knocked the medical kit to the ground.
He stood up, a mocking smile on his face, which combined with his injuries, was strangely striking.
Ansel Vaughn took a deep breath, held back for a moment, but couldn’t help but scold, "Isaac Vaughn, when will you finally be mature? Stop worrying your mother and me!"
"Ethan is your brother. How can you let the Vaughn family be a laughingstock?"
Isaac Vaughn was provoked by the word "brother".
"A laughingstock? Ethan can still flaunt himself in front of my mom, that’s the biggest joke!"
Ansel Vaughn’s eyes suddenly widened, his chest heaving, he steadied himself by grasping the stair railing.
"You, you..."
"You may have forgotten, but I’ll never forget! Not in this lifetime!" Isaac Vaughn’s expression was full of dark coldness, "Ethan will someday pay the price for what he’s done!"
—
Sebastian Beckett was getting older; his biological clock was early.
So just after 7, Natalie Kendall was accompanying him in the dining room for breakfast.
"Did you go out last night?"
The hand holding Natalie’s spoon paused, and she answered with a low "hmm".
But Sebastian didn’t press on further, he finished breakfast quietly, and only then did he say, "And how’s it going with Noah Sinclair?"
"Grandpa, I don’t think we’re suitable."
"Why not suitable? Did the boy bully you?"
"No."
"Then see him a few more times."
Sebastian made the final decision, ordering her to meet Noah Sinclair at least three more times, or else choose the next one to meet.
Natalie had no choice but to acquiesce to her grandfather’s decision to meet Noah Sinclair three more times.
*
Just as Natalie agreed to meet again, Noah Sinclair sent a message to ask her to go out.
If she couldn’t escape the meeting, then she might as well get it over with sooner.
Natalie went out and met up with Noah Sinclair at the mall.
Noah Sinclair said his little niece’s birthday was coming up and wanted Natalie to help him buy a birthday gift.
He’s only 26 this year, but his little niece is already 19.
"The family connections are a bit complicated."
Noah Sinclair explained with a smile.
The two entered a jewelry store.
Meanwhile, Isaac Vaughn came out from another store with Vanessa Grant.
They were there to pick up wedding rings.
Originally prepared for Natalie Kendall and Jason Grant’s wedding, but now, it probably won’t be needed.
As he looked up, Isaac Vaughn saw Natalie Kendall.
And then, he saw Noah Sinclair beside her, his gaze immediately darkening.
Vanessa Grant also saw them, her expression flashing with surprise, then pain again.
"Though the Beckett family hasn’t said it outright, given your uncle’s situation, canceling the engagement is inevitable. I just didn’t expect Nat to meet someone new so soon."
This made Vanessa Grant think of Jason Grant in his hospital bed, leaning on her son’s shoulder, feeling a wave of sadness.
Isaac Vaughn held his mother tighter, staring at Natalie Kendall’s back, wishing he could burn a hole through it.
—
In the evening, Isaac Vaughn was called out by Franklin Finch to hang out.
He was lounging on the sofa, indifferent to everything.
During this, two women approached him for drinks, both were beauties with slim waists and long legs, but he didn’t even lift an eyelid, coldly telling them to get lost.
His long fingers played with his phone, and suddenly it rang.
He swiped the screen, seeing a message from Natalie Kendall.
[When will you sign?]
Isaac Vaughn stared coldly at the message for a long time before replying:
[I’ll sign now. You come get it.]
Natalie Kendall: [Mail it.]
Isaac Vaughn directly sent over the location of the bar.
[I’ll give you an hour, be late by a minute, and you can keep waiting.]
Natalie Kendall checked the bar’s location, then took a cab there.
When she entered, Isaac Vaughn was surrounded by two voluptuous women and was being coaxed into being fed a drink mouth-to-mouth by one of them.
Isaac Vaughn smilingly said that the other one shouldn’t get jealous, so why not both feed him, one cup each to be fair, winning a chorus of cheers.
He turned his head, meeting Natalie Kendall’s expressionless face.
