Deceiving Her Ears: Ignoring Your Call-Chapter 180: I’ll Call Brother-in-Law
Vanessa’s first reaction was to pull the blanket back to cover it, not letting anyone else see this scene.
Facing away from the doctor and adjusting her emotions, she turned around and said, "Doctor, it’s okay. You can go ahead."
"Doesn’t the patient need an examination?"
"No, no need for now."
After the doctor left, Vanessa returned to the bedside. It took her a long time to build up the mental strength to lift the blanket again.
Almost immediately, her eyes turned red.
"Baby."
She knelt down, holding her son’s shoulders, her voice trembling: "Baby, what’s wrong? Don’t scare mommy, okay?"
But at this moment, Isaac was unable to give any response.
Seeing him in such discomfort, Vanessa thought of something and took out her phone to make a call.
Before she could dial, a hand suddenly reached over and pressed her wrist.
"Baby?"
Isaac gripped his mom’s wrist, his male voice hoarse: "Don’t call her, we, we’re divorced."
"What?"
Although today, when picking up her son at the entrance of the civil affairs bureau, Vanessa had vaguely sensed something.
But a guess is just a guess after all.
Before it was confirmed, she didn’t dare to think too much in that direction.
"You and Nat..."
In the end, Vanessa swallowed back the words she wanted to say.
Now it’s come to this.
The separation has happened.
The dust has settled.
Saying more means nothing.

Hearing the door open, Jordan ran out from the room with a "thud-thud-thud."
"Sister! Sister, you’re home from work so early today?"
He ran over to hug Natalie and act coquettishly, but was perfunctorily patted on the head and gently pushed away.
Natalie’s face was pale, and she depletedly walked towards the bedroom, throwing herself onto the bed as soon as she entered, closing her eyes.
Jordan followed her inside, and seeing her legs still hanging off the side of the bed, he went over to lift them up onto the bed.
"Sister, are you okay? Are you sick? I’ll call brother-in-law!"
Jordan finished saying this and was about to run out to borrow a phone from the temporary nanny.
"Stop."
Just as he reached the doorway, a low, husky female voice called out.
"I’m fine, just tired, I want to sleep for a while."
"Really, sister?"
"Mm." Natalie turned over, her voice muffled: "No phone calls."
"Okay, I won’t call, you sleep, sister."
Jordan obediently went out and closed the door.
As he turned around, he bumped into Cynthia, almost scared enough to fall to the ground.
Cynthia glanced at the door, asking: "What’s wrong with her?"
Jordan replied: "Sister is tired and wants to sleep."
Sleeping in broad daylight?
Cynthia furrowed her brows slightly, reaching to open the door, but Jordan spread his arms to block her.
"Don’t disturb sister! Sister is sleeping!"
Cynthia looked down at Jordan, who was like a little loyal guard standing before her, chuckled coldly, and turned away.
Jordan let out a sigh of relief, glanced at the room door behind him, and prepared to stand guard here, not allowing anyone to disturb his sister’s sleep.

The next day, Natalie still seemed listless, but had no choice but to go to Beckett Group.
Just as she sat down in the office, the assistant knocked and came in.
"Miss Kendall."
Natalie looked up to see the assistant holding a letter with a somewhat strange expression.
She straightened up, leaning back into her chair, and asked in a calm voice: "What’s the matter?"
The assistant approached, licking her lips, and very reluctantly placed the letter on the table in front of her.
"Miss Kendall, this was received yesterday afternoon."
Yesterday after she and Isaac finalized the divorce procedures, she went home and didn’t come back to the office.
Thinking of this, Natalie reached out for the letter, opened it and suddenly paused.
Soon, she placed the letter face-down on the table, her voice icy and cool: "I got it, you may leave now."
