Deceiving Her Ears: Ignoring Your Call-Chapter 175: He Sent People
Matthew referred to "solutions," probably meaning to abandon Cynthia Kendall in a sanatorium, leaving her to fend for herself.
"But Nat, why did you suddenly come back?"
Matthew changed the subject, glanced back at Cynthia, who was being restrained by the bodyguards, and clearly understood: "Did your mother inform you?"
Natalie was silent.
Matthew chuckled, "I had no idea when you and your mother started getting along."
Pausing as if casually, but deliberately reminding Natalie: "After all, your mother hurt you several times before, I thought you despised her."
"Even if she is really going to be sent to a sanatorium, shouldn’t it be decided after examination by a professional doctor?"
"No need for any professional doctor, nor any examination," Matthew firmly stated: "Your mother’s insanity isn’t recent."
"But..."
"Enough." Matthew interrupted Natalie impatiently, both his tone and expression showing frustration: "Nat, let’s not waste time here."
"What about my brother?" Natalie calmly spoke: "What should we do when my brother returns from M-Country?"
Matthew’s gaze darkened, but he quickly said, "I’ll talk to your brother; he’ll understand my decision. Alright, these are not matters for you to worry about."
With that said, Matthew raised his hand.
The two bodyguards immediately started dragging Cynthia towards the door.
"Wait!"
Natalie frowned at the scene, wanting to intervene.
But just as she moved, Matthew grasped her arm, "Nat, that’s enough. Keep this up, and Dad will be angry."
Natalie turned her head to meet his gaze.
Just as Cynthia was already at the door about to be dragged out, suddenly four men came in from outside, stopping them and forcibly taking Cynthia away from Matthew’s bodyguards.
"Who are you people!"
Matthew furiously watched his men be easily subdued.
Natalie immediately recognized two of the men as Isaac Vaughn’s bodyguards.
It’s him.
He sent them.
How did he know?
"Miss Kendall, are you alright?"
The leader among the four respectfully asked Natalie.
"What? Nat, you called them here?" Matthew glared angrily at Natalie.
Natalie drew her arm from his grasp and stepped towards the four men and Cynthia.
"Dad, we’ll be leaving now."
Matthew didn’t expect Natalie to be prepared; he realized there was no way to send Cynthia to the sanatorium today.
Not only that, he could only watch helplessly while Natalie took Cynthia away.
"Nat, have you truly forgotten what she did to you before? She wanted you dead! You’re the farmer and the snake today!"
Natalie was not swayed by these provocative words and left with the four bodyguards and Cynthia.
Cynthia got into her car, while the four bodyguards drove behind her.
After driving a short distance, Cynthia, who hadn’t spoken, hoarsely said: "Drop me at a hotel."
Natalie looked straight ahead; it was unclear if she paid attention to the words.
minutes later, the car entered the neighborhood where she currently lived and stopped downstairs.
Cynthia guessed where it was, turned her face to look at her, with a slight surprise in her eyes.
Natalie just said calmly: "Get out."
After speaking, she first opened the car door and got out.
Isaac’s bodyguards had followed her till here, she glanced at their car, and took out her phone.
Isaac had called her several times.
She called back, and after a single ring, it was answered, a deep, anxious male voice asked: "Little Ear, are you alright?"
