Debuff Master-Chapter 898
Chapter 898
[Lightsword: 43d88e2e2qq1]
[The weapon used by the Coral Race.]
[These weapons are all called Lightsword regardless of their form.]
[Every Coralite possesses a Lightsword with a unique identification number.]
[These weapons artificially generate an Aura Blade, granting them devastating power and destructive force.]
[Type: Weapon]
[Rating: N/A]
[Durability: 5,000/5,000]
[Restriction: Coral Race]
[Attack Power: Scales with user’s level]
[Magic Power: Scales with user’s level]
‘You’ve got to be kidding me!’ Siegfried exclaimed inwardly, his eyes widening after reading the details of the weapon used by the otherworldly creature.
A weapon that could generate a powerful aura blade on command was definitely not something ordinary. To begin with, aura blades were not something common that could be created so easily.
The user had to be at least Level 250, and even then, most would probably fail due to insufficient proficiency or their class limitation.
In fact, even Siegfried had not gotten used to using aura blades until he reached Level 290, and only those who ascended to the realm of Masters could wield an aura blade with ease.
And yet, these otherworldly creatures were able to produce aura blades artificially from some weapon?
Their weapon alone already boosted their combat prowess beyond imagination. Even the lowest-ranking Coralite soldier could easily carve through a veteran knight of the continent like a hot knife slicing through butter, thanks to the weapon they used.
‘But what about this guy?’ Siegfried flashed his Rune of Insight at the otherworldly creature that managed to break free from the Embrace of Despair.
[Sirius]
[Commander of the Coral Race’s First Expeditionary Force.]
[One of the vanguards of the Coral Race. He allied with Giorgetto to colonize the Nurburg Continent.]
[Type: NPC]
[Race: Coral]
[Affiliation: Coral Governing Union]
[Position: 1st Expeditionary Force Commander]
[Rank: Brigadier General]
[Level: 350]
[Class: Aura Commander]
[Special Traits: +500% Status Ailment Resistance]
‘He’s roughly the same level as me. I can take him on,’ Siegfried thought while looking at the otherworldly creature.
The Coralite’s appearance was truly mysterious. Its skin glowed pinkish like a flamingo; it had red eyes and six distinct dots on its forehead. It also had two long, tentacle-like appendages hanging from the back of its head that extended all the way down to its waist.
The Coralite was humanoid, but his features made it obvious that he wasn't a lifeform found anywhere on the Nurburg Continent.
‘Hold on. This isn’t time for me to sit around admiring some alien, no?’ Siegfried snapped his focus back to his main target—Giorgetto.
However, He was nowhere to be found. No, to be more precise, Siegfried had no idea what he looked like in the first place. The empire had not provided him with any sketch of the man, and neither had they provided any intel on the man’s appearance.
‘Behind me?!’
Siegfried turned around after noticing that the dot labeled "Giorgetto von Posteriore" was right behind him. No, Siegfried tried to turn around, but...
Shwik!
A razor-sharp blade cut across his back.
“Ack!” Siegfried screamed in agony and lurched forward.
If his Defense had been any lower, he would have been cleaved in half.
The lethal ambush was executed to absolute perfection.
***
“Kuheok!”
Siegfried coughed up blood as he collapsed forward.
[Siegfried van Proa]
[HP: ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜]
A staggering thirty percent of his HP was wiped out in just a single attack, but that was not what surprised him the most.
‘H-How? When did that he...?’
Siegfried had no idea how Giorgetto managed to land an attack on him.
Inzaghi’s Clairvoyance clearly marked that Giorgetto was behind him all along, standing right there this entire time.
However, Siegfried did not even see his shadow move. Even when he was attacked, he did not sense any presence or danger.
‘How the hell does this even make sense?’
Even as he shot up to his feet like lightning to avoid getting hit by any follow-up attacks, Siegfried’s mind was still racing with unanswered questions.
Despite that, Giorgetto actually managed to land a perfect sneak attack on him?
Siegfried could not wrap his head around how it was made possible, but he had no time to dwell on it.
“Die.” Sirius swung his Lightsword in the form of a battle-axe.
‘Not a chance.’ Siegfried reacted quickly. Even while wounded, he evaded Sirius’ attack with one quick turn before burying a kick straight into Sirius’ gut.
“Guhh!” Sirius gasped, and he was blasted away.
At the same time, Siegfried activated Absolute Zero.
‘Now!’
Flash!
A blinding white light flashed, and the enemies gripped by the Embrace of Despair were frozen solid by Absolute Zero.
‘Get lost, you small fry.’ Siegfried unleashed the Wave of Annihilation at the frozen enemies.
Rumble!
A devastating shockwave that disintegrated its target into molecules swept over them.
One, two, three...
C-Crack...!
The frozen enemies splintered into fragments before disintegrating into fine dust.
[Alert: You have gained Experience Points!]

[Alert: You have gained Experience Points!]
Was it because he had killed some Coralites? He somehow obtained a ton of Experience Points.
However, Siegfried did not even spare them a glance.
‘Where is he?’ Siegfried focused on looking for Giorgetto.
No matter how much he scanned the battlefield, the man was nowhere to be seen.
‘Where is he? He was just here a while ago?’
The Inzaghi’s Clairvoyance was showing that he was roughly ten meters away from him.
When he looked around, however, he was nowhere to be seen.
Inzaghi’s Clairvoyance would never lie to him, so why could he not see Giorgetto anywhere?
“Giorgetto!” Sirius got back to his feet and shouted at an empty space. “Go on ahead! I’ll follow soon!”
Then, something shocking happened.
‘H-Huh? What the hell?!’
Siegfried noticed that the red dot labeled "Giorgetto von Posteriore" was moving quickly, but what was truly shocking was the fact that he made no noises while he was running away.
No footsteps, no footprint, no shadow, and not even a scent.
It seemed that Giorgetto had some sort of ability to hide all of his traces perfectly.
‘You’re not going anywhere.’ Siegfried rushed toward the red dot, chasing it down.
Unfortunately, he couldn't leave.
“I’m your opponent,” Sirius said, blocking his path.
“Tsk...” Siegfried clicked his tongue in annoyance.
Fwaaaah!
Siegfried unleashed the Eternal Flames, engulfing Sirius.
Sirius had 500% resistance against status ailments, making Embrace of Despair not that effective.
However, it was not an issue for Siegfried.
‘I’ll just have to shred his defense and beat the crap out of him!’
Siegfried wasn't a one-trick pony who could not beat his opponent just because he couldn't debuff them.
Kwachik!
He gripped his +16 Vanquisher’s Grasp and cranked up Overclocking to its third stage.
Bzzzzzt!
A violent surge of electricity crackled throughout his body.
“A-Argh...!”
The Coral Race was sensitive to mana. Sirius instinctively flinched from the raw energy radiating from the human in front of him, causing him to stagger a few steps back.
And that was all the opening Siegfried needed.
It was then.
Boom!
Siegfried launched forward like a bolt of lightning, swinging down his +16 Vanquisher’s Grasp on Sirius’ skull.
“Kuheok!”
The brief lapse in defense cost Sirius a lot.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Siegfried struck his head three times with Skull Breaker.
Ding!
And the Mark of Death appeared on top of Sirius’ head.
“Argghhh!” Sirius screamed in agony, yet his instincts as a warrior allowed him to barely evade the fourth strike, which would have detonated the Mark of Death, by rolling away.
“Oh? Not bad,” Siegfried said with a grin before unleashing a relentless assault on the otherworldly creature.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The +16 Vanquisher’s Grasp and Lightsword clashed violently against each other, throwing sparks in the air every time they collided.
[Alert: 5 seconds remaining on Mark of Death!]
[Alert: 4 seconds remaining on Mark of Death!]
The Mark of Death was slowly fading away as the seconds went by.
Shwiiiiik!
Siegfried unleashed a storm of aura blades, launching them like a barrage of missiles at Sirius.
“...!”
Sirius swung his weapon frantically in a desperate bid to knock away the aura blades.
However, his desperation proved to be a fatal mistake.
“D-Damn it!”
While he was busy fending off the attack, Siegfried had already closed the distance between them.
“Headshot!” Siegfried shouted, striking Sirius’ head with the +16 Vanquisher’s Grasp.
As soon as the +16 Vanquisher’s Grasp landed on Sirius’ skull—
Kaboom!
—the Mark of Death detonated, sending Sirius flying from the impact.
He was a Level 350 Coral Warrior, but it was impossible for him to withstand the combined damage of Skull Breaker and the Eternal Flames ripping through his defensive stats.
“Guuhhh...!”
Sirius vomited large amounts of blood, yet he desperately tried to get back on his feet.
Shwik!
The +16 Vanquisher’s Grasp—in saber form—moved faster than he could even react.
A grotesque noise echoed in the air, followed by absolute silence.
“...”
Sirius felt his neck grow cold, and his grip on his Lightsword loosened.
***
“W-What is your... name?” Sirius asked.
“I’m None Of Your Business,” Siegfried sneered in response with a smirk.
“My kin will... come and... hunt you down...” Sirius warned. Then, he staggered before continuing, “Ugh... The true... wielders of the Lightsword... the Royal Bloods... they'll come for—”
But that was as far as he got...
Thud!
Sirius' head took to the skies, and pink blood sprayed like a fountain from the stump.
Thud!
His headless body collapsed to the ground.
[Alert: You have obtained Experience Points!]
“Ah! Damn it!” Siegfried cursed loudly despite gaining a staggering amount of Experience Points from killing Sirius.
He only had 0.01% remaining before leveling up, and the sight of it frustrated him a lot. If Sirius had dropped just a little bit more Experience Points, then he would have leveled up by now.
“Tsk... Stingy bastard! You could have just dropped a bit more since you were gonna die anyway!” Siegfried grumbled in frustration.
He looked around at the battlefield and summoned the Three-Legged Crow to pick up all of the loot on the ground.
[Alert: You have obtained Lightsword: 43d88e2e2qq1!]

[Alert: You have obtained Lightsword: rrd00qeaaa0!]
He picked up the Lightswords dropped by the Coralites in hopes of giving them to Quandt to study.
Without wasting another second, he immediately went after his main target.
‘Did you really think I’d let you slip away?’
Siegfried saw that Giorgetto had already slipped past the forest and was running for his life.
‘You're invisible, but there’s no way you can escape from me.’
Even if Giorgetto possessed some sort of high-level cloaking ability, Siegfried possessed the Inzaghi’s Clairvoyance. Giorgetto von Posteriore managed to evade the others' eyes, but there was no way he could escape from Siegfried.
***
‘I have to survive. I have to survive no matter what!’
With that single thought in mind, Giorgetto ran with all of his strength.
He ran, ran, and ran without even stopping to catch his breath.
If the reinforcements from the Corals successfully crossed over to the Nurburg Continent, the throne would practically be his for the taking.
Well, at least that was what he thought.
Regardless, that ember of hope gave him the strength to run for his life. He slipped past the imperial troops swarming the forest until he eventually managed to reach a place that he deemed relatively safe.
Only then did he throw his robe away and gasp for air to catch his breath.
“Huff... Huff...!”
“Ah, so that was your little trick?”
“Hruugk?!” Giorgetto gasped and jumped in horror.
Why?
It was all because a young man was staring at him from beneath a bush.
It went without saying that the young man was none other than Siegfried van Proa.
