Death Mage with an SS-Rank Talent-Chapter 278
While Aaron was marvelling about the use of his new skills, the card that Jay had given him, which can transfer items started to glow and made some noise, which broke Aaron out of his thoughts.
Ding!
Hearing the sound coming from his pocket, Aaron pulled out the card that Jay had given him. He could see a glow on it, which means that there were goods sent from the other side. As long as he accepts the transfer, the goods would appear here.
The Card works in a simple manner.
Once activated, it would swallow the goods designated and would transfer them to the other side, but the person there should accept the transfer, or the transfer would be on hold. Only when the transfer was accepted could the items be transferred from one place to another.
"Oh, it looks like Jay might have come through. Let’s accept the items", Aaron accepted the transfer.
As soon as Aaron accepted the transfer, a box appeared in front of him.
Aaron took the box and opened it. The box was nothing but a protective case for the items. Some items are sensitive and need something to protect them during transfer. If not, changes could appear in those items due to space energy interferences, or they may even get damaged in the transfer, and damaged products don’t work as they were supposed to.
It is not a sword that can work the same with a chip on its surface. Even a crack in these items makes them useless for the work, and if used as they were, then there is a high chance of blowing everything in one’s face.
One of the items needed for the dungeon core transfer is a very sensitive item. For that reason, Jay sent them all that was needed in a protective box.
If that item was damaged and if Aaron uses that in that state, then during the extraction, the dungeon core would explode. The extractor and everyone nearby would end up dead.
So, damaged items can’t be used in situations like this, no matter what. Even if it costs more, one should always use the perfectly stable and undamaged items.
---
Aaron opened the box and saw the items inside. They were perfect with no damage.
There were three items inside.
The first and most important was the Dungeon Crystal Ball, which is used to store the core and stops it from degradation or forming a dungeon.
The second item was a set, an Inscription Set.
An Inscription Pen and Inscription Ink, and they are not normal, low-grade items.
All three are top-grade items.
Aaron has already told Jay what type of dungeon he was claiming. For such a high-ranking dungeon, low-grade items may fail. Sometimes, storing a dungeon core in a cheap Dungeon crystal Ball would let it degrade, and what one would have in the end could become a low-ranking dungeon.
To avoid such degradation correct crystal ball or even a higher one is required.
Of course, these crystal balls are not just a one-time use item. They can be used a few more times, depending on the ranking of the cores and on the quality of the crystal ball. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
The last item in the box was a guide, a blueprint to correctly extract a dungeon core, with what to do and what not to do.
Aaron took the inscription set and started to draw the inscriptions and circles, first at the center and then around that center circle, according to the guide.
Once done, he placed the Crystal Ball in the center circle and then inscribed the final inscription, which activated the circles and the inscriptions.
Aaron couldn’t see a thing as there was a bright light, which made him close his eyes. A minute later, the light disappeared, and the inscriptions faded, but the crystal ball, which was originally colourless, had now turned green.
It is the colour that represents that the core was successfully stored inside, and there was no damage to it.
After the core was successfully extracted, the existing dungeon started to crumble.
Once the core was removed, the dungeon couldn’t stay. Though it won’t collapse the next second, as the commands and energy required for a few minutes would have been supplied some time ago.
Once that time comes, it will slowly start to crumble, piece by piece.
Any spawned monster that was alive would disappear first, then come the walls and the ground, which were the structure of the dungeon.
If someone remains inside the dungeon at that time, they would be dead, lost to the void. No one can ever find their remains.
If they were either at the start of the dungeon or at the end, there are portals that they can take to leave the dungeon. If they were not, they could only hope that they had enough time to reach either of the portals.
As the monsters would be the first to disappear, one would have time to reach one of the portals, most of the time. There were occasions when people disappeared along with the dungeons.
These kinds of scenarios occur when a wild dungeon appears and two opposing factions compete for it.
Most of the time, it would be just one faction that found or bought the information that would know about this.
If there were multiple factions, they would come to a compromise. One faction may possess it, but in exchange, they have to provide resources, either as a one-time compensation or a trade of resources for lower prices in the future.
Some may compensate by providing entry to the dungeon for free, for a certain period of time or a certain number of times.
There are many such compensations, which depend on what the factions wanted.
Of course, not every time would the factions be neutral or friendly enough to create such compromises. Sometimes, they would be opposing factions, when the ownership would be decided based on who was able to get the core first.
At that time, the other team or teams inside would be in a precarious position if the extraction of the dungeon core happened before they were near the exit portal.
There have been many times when such things have happened.
Luckily, Aaron has no such problems. As the one who extracted the core, he was near the exit portal in the Boss Room. So, he quickly entered the portal and left the dungeon safely.

As Aaron was busy with his status, skills and the newly acquired dungeon, something far greater was happening a few kilometres away from Fort Last Bastion, something that could change everything that was happening in the world.
