Death Mage with an SS-Rank Talent-Chapter 203
Chapter 203: Chapter 203
The trio, Aaron and the girls, exited the mission hall once they had successfully registered the mission.
"The registration is done, and we have ten days to complete the mission. It would take two days to reach this village. One day to reach WoodStone City and another to reach the village. This includes resting time". ƒгeewebnovёl_com
"It means we would only have six days in total to complete the mission, as four days would be consumed for the travel itself. So, let’s not waste any time and move now. Also, prepare the supplies needed for the ten-day travel. We may complete the mission before the ten-day time, but it’s best to be prepared", Aaron spoke, looking at the girls.
Erika nodded, "You are right. We need to be prepared. Also, we don’t know what we might face along the way. So, I vote to get some extra supplies".
"You were right", Diana agreed.
Aaron nodded as well, "You are right. We need to prepare for not just the mission but also for the things that we might face on the road. You have...let’s say an hour to collect the supplies. We shall meet at the front gate in an hour."
"It is acceptable", the girls nodded.
After making their decision, they went to their dorms to collect the supplies needed for the journey. What they lacked, they can buy from the Student Resource Center.
---
While the trio was busy with their preparations, Viren and his group were too.
One of his goons took the mission that was near WoodStone City. This was the other mission of the two missions that were near each other. The trio could have completed both, but this is not a novel, but real life.
They have no idea what could happen on the journey, and if they fail to complete both missions, the punishment would be severe. The trio didn’t want such a black mark early in their journey. So, in the end, they only chose one of the two.
The other one was snatched by Viren’s man, who came to get a mission to get a genuine reason to leave the academy and be near the trio later on.
Getting the mission that was near the mission location of the trio was lucky on their part or unlucky, which he would learn later on, but at the moment, he believed to were lucky to get the mission.
If he had missed this mission, then Viren would have lashed out at him. So, for now, it was enough to think that he was lucky.
After registering the mission, he arrived at Viren’s dorm, where there were only two besides Viren. Others were collecting supplies for the trip.
"Young master, I got the mission that was near WoodStone city, near to where those three would be going", the boy spoke.
Viren smiled, "Excellent", he said, "Now get ready, we will be leaving soon, if we want to catch up with them".
Viren thought that the trio had already left the academy. So, he was pushing them to leave as soon as possible. If he gets a chance to eliminate them beforehand, he would take the chance. To do so, he needs to catch up with them.
He has no idea that they were still in the academy at the time.
Once the two others arrived, Viren spoke, "Let’s move".
The team registered for the mission was six members. So, including Viren, five others are allowed for the mission. Whether they take outside help, that doesn’t matter as long as they complete the mission in time, but for the team, the maximum allowed number is six.
---
An hour later, the trio arrived at the academy gate after collecting everything that they felt was needed during their journey.
"Pass", the guard at the gate stopped them.
Aaron took out the mission scroll that the mission hall issued for the mission. This acts as a pass to leave the academy, and when the mission was completed, the mission issuer would sign it, denoting the completion of the mission.
Only when it was signed would the students get the credits or rewards that were prescribed for the mission.
The guard checked the mission scroll and then returned it to Aaron, "Sign the book before you leave", he said as he placed the book and a pen for use.
The book was to keep those who were still in the academy and those who were not. This is so that one knows whether the students ever returned from the missions or perished outside.
The trio signed the book, and they left through the gate.
They chatted as they kept walking.
What they didn’t know was that there were six people stalking them closely behind them.
---
Back at Viren’s dorm, once the six were present, they set out of the dorm area towards the exit gate.
Once they reached the gate, they were stopped by the guard to check their pass and had to sign their names before leaving.
When Viren signed, he observed that there were names missing from the book. The trio hasn’t signed the book.
"Wait a minute, have they not left?" Viren thought to himself.
When the six got some distance away from the gate guards, Viren spoke, "The three have yet to leave the academy".
One of the other five asked in confusion, "How do you know this boss?"
He was genuinely confused because just a few minutes ago, Viren was trying to leave as fast as possible, fearing they might lose the trio, but now he was telling them that the three had yet to leave.
"Their names were missing from the book, we just signed", Viren spoke in irritation.
He was irritated because he felt that his henchmen were a bit dumb. The clever ones have left the group, fearing the consequences for what they are about to do.
"Oh", the others nodded, but quickly quit when they saw the irritation on Viren’s face.
"Now, let’s wait in the shadows. They would soon leave the academy, and we can easily follow them", Viren said as he led them to hide.
The others followed, even though they had some doubts regarding the reason why they would soon leave the academy. They may leave hours later or maybe even the next day. There was no guarantee,e but fearing Viren’s wrath, they followed him into hiding.
Soon, the trio arrived at the gate and went through the same procedure as them.
As the trio started to walk away, the six started following them from a distance to make sure that the trio didn’t find them out.
