Death Mage with an SS-Rank Talent-Chapter 195
Chapter 195: Chapter 195
Two months later...
Aaron, Erika, and Zara started to level up faster than before. While Aaron and Erika dedicated more time to levelling up in the dungeons, Zara, as an alchemist, started to spend more time improving her alchemy for the two months that came after the announcement regarding the changes in taking of missions.
Zara, as an alchemist, would usually take a longer time than combat professions to level up, as only successful attempts at creating products would give her EXP. She would need to produce a lot of products in order to obtain the EXP needed to level up.
In that aspect, both Aaron and Erika helped her by going through dungeons where the materials are available. The materials from dungeons that they can’t enter, Zara got from other students.
He was sleeping with her and was in a relationship with her. He cares about her and doesn’t want to end up in a ditch because she was weak. So, he tried to help as much as he could.
Erika, while being a bit jealous about Zara’s relationship with Aaron, someone she had eyes on since Day One, came to know her as days went on and bonded with her. She, too, like Aaron, didn’t want Zara to get hurt. So, she helped her whenever she could, but not as much as Aaron, who was earning more than those two combined.
Reyna, on the other hand, started to take on missions outside to earn more credits than usual, and her level also started to skyrocket more than usual. She had already crossed Rank-4 and was moving towards Rank-5 step by step.
Diana, who has been friends with Aaron and Erika, soon became friends with Zara and Reyan too. At first, the girls thought that Diana might become part of Aaron’s Harem, but they learned that she was not interested in Aaron, which surprised them.
This was because every girl Aaron knew was in the Harem, more or less. ƒreewebɳovel.com
Though Reyna has not yet joined the harem, Zara and Erika could see that she wanted to but something was stopping her. They had decided to wait till Reyna was ready.
With three girls he knew in the academy part of his harem, they assumed that Diana might become one, but they were wrong.
When the two girls asked Diana about that, she said that she was interested in him because he was strong, but in a romantic way, because she likes girls rather than boys.
With no threat from Diana to their harem, Erika and Zara became good friends with Diana and even started to go to dungeons to level up.
Though crafters usually increase level by gaining experience in crafting goods, they can earn EXP when they hunt, but it would be less, similar to how combat professions gain max EXP through combat but less EXP from crafting.
---
It was not just these few, but everyone was on a Booster Plan when it came to levelling.
Two months ago, the academy didn’t release the news about why the changes occurred, but that didn’t remain secret for long.
In the North-west part of the alliance lands, there is a region called Vulur. It was not an official name, but it’s how locals recognise themselves, though most would recognize themselves as citizens of a city or town, rather than a region.
Vulur is the border region of the alliance, which recently saw increased monster attacks from the forest lands that they border.
At the junction, there used to be a fort called Last Bastion, but that fell two months ago. Almost all of the guards and everyone stationed there were gone, leaving only ten survivors. Even the fort was destroyed before reinforcements came to help, and that was within an hour of the start of the battle.
The troubling factor was that there was a Rank-8 monster at the scene, which was later eradicated by the head of the Hunters Guild.
Though it was gone, everyone started to worry about why such a beast was at the border in the first place. Rank-8 and Rank-9 monsters wouldn’t be at battles with humans, unless necessary.
Most of the time, they would be trying to improve themselves, not seek out conflicts. They won’t bother the humans unless they intrude into their territories or their bloodline is in danger.
Also, never has been a Rank-8 at the start of the war. So, that means, there could be Rank-9 monsters too as time moves on, which means a lot of casualties. Even though there are Rank-9 among humans, casualties can’t be avoided.
Things only escalated when the cults started to increase their attacks. Taking advantage of the monster attacks, the cults started causing trouble everywhere. So, the secrets couldn’t stay secret no more.
Soon, the news about what happened at Last Bastion came out, and everyone in the alliance now knows about this, which caused a lot of fear, especially for the regions that border the Vulur region.
Aaron spoke with his parents to not be out at night, and if the restaurant doesn’t accept that, they can resign from their jobs. He has a lot of resources in his storage that haven’t seen the light of day as they might cause suspicion in his hands, but if the situation demands, he is ready to cash them in.
He told his parents that he could afford the money to buy a small food stall if they wanted to cook. He didn’t try to stop, as cooking is the way for them to improve their skills and levels. He wanted them to grow strong and be powerful enough to defend against most enemies.
No matter how much he wanted them to be protected, he knew that he couldn’t be there for every scenario. Even if he recruits some security, there is no guarantee that none can slip through the defences. So, if his parents are strong, even if they can’t defeat the enemy, they can run away easily.
Luckily, the restaurant changed their timings, as with the talk about the upcoming crisis, and cult attacks everywhere, no customer is daring enough to come out at late night to dine. So, most restaurants started to operate only during the daytime.
Only in high-tier cities do the restaurants still open at night. Low-tier cities like Rock City don’t have powerful awakeners to protect everyone or even most if there were any attacks on anyone walking at night.
That was one less problem for Aaron to worry about. His parents still stayed at the restaurant where they have been working for years and also, he didn’t need to pull out the resources that shouldn’t be in the hands of someone his age.
With the safety of his parents semi-secured, he devoted his time and thoughts on improving himself faster, rather than worrying about things that he can’t control.
