Death Mage with an SS-Rank Talent-Chapter 125
Chapter 125: Chapter 125
Four pairs stood on their respective stages, with a referee for each stage, to make sure that the students would follow the rules properly and also to make sure that the students wouldn’t hurt each other badly.
The academy is well aware of the rumours that were spreading in the academy. They knew that some of the students were well aware of the crisis that was coming.
Though there was a gag order from the higher-ups, they were the first ones who should have broken the order. Even though they might order not to spread the news to avoid mass panic, they are still human and would do things that are beneficial to them and their families in the end.
This is to be expected, unless they have no one that they care for.
Since there are rumours, some smart ones should have already figured out the situation, even without any information from their families, in addition to the ones that were informed by their families.
So this duelling competition would be very troublesome as no one would want to miss out on this chance to improve themselves and thereby their chance of survival in the upcoming crisis.
There is a chance that the students would cross the line in order to make sure that they would get on the final team.
The academy can’t let that happen, as if any deaths or permanent damages to the students would sully their reputation, which would not be beneficial for them in the long term.
To make sure that doesn’t happen, each match would be individually watched by referees, and there would be medical teams on standby.
Injuries are common in battles, whether it is a real-life battle or just a competition. So, the medical teams are present near the stages to make sure that the injuries sustained by the students wouldn’t be fatal or damaging to their careers.

Erika from the spectator’s stand watched Aaron’s match keenly. She was more interested in this match than any other match, but she kept an eye out on other matches, as her number could come up any moment if any match completes.
"Are you ready?" the referee asked Aaron and his competitor.
Both nodded their heads.
"Then, let’s start the duel", the referee gave the start signal.
[Fire Ball]
The opponent cast the fireball skill as soon as he was given the signal to attack. He didn’t want to give Aaron any chance to attack at all.
Seeing the speed at which the fireball was cast, Aaron could easily understand that his opponent was a Fire Mage, whose Fireball skill level was high, and there was also a chance that he had a talent related to fire or magic in general.
Though not all awakners would have talents, the ones with talents would have all ended up in the topmost academies. So, seeing someone with a talent in the Dusk Academy would not be a surprise.
What would surprise one would be if there is someone that don’t have a talent in the top academies.
The fireball cast by the opponent that Aaron was facing was very fast. Whether it was powerful or not, he didn’t know and was not thinking about finding out personally. He sprinted away easily.
With his high attributes and high-ranked skill, Sprint, he easily evaded that attack.
[Dual Cast]
[Mana Ball]
Aaron, once out of the area where the fireball would land, he cast Manaball, but used Dual cast, which meant there were two Manaballs that were attacking his opponent.
Once they were cast, he moved away from the position and summoned twenty skeletons. He felt that they were more than enough for the match.
Pulling more than that would attract unwanted attention. Unless there was a need to pull so many skeletons at the same time, he decided to show the minimum number of skeletons that were needed to win these duels and to make sure nothing bad would happen in the future. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com
Twenty skeletons that had the strength of someone higher than the opponent, that was more than enough to overwhelm the Fire Mage, easily subduing him in less than thirty seconds.
As soon as the referee saw that the Fire Mage had no chance of winning, to avoid any problems, he declared the end of the match.
"Number 69 wins", he declared.
Once the referee said those words, Aaron pulled back his skeletons and left the stage. He quickly found Erika in the spectator stand, as she stood up and started waving at him after he left the stage.
Aaron’s match was the first match to complete, and that too happened within a minute, which surprised everyone. Even though that was the case, as soon as the match was over and the opponent was collected by the medical team, a new match started.
"Congrats on the win", Erika congratulated Aaron as soon as he appeared near her.
"Thanks", Aaron said as he took the seat beside her.
She felt that she had underestimated him a lot. Though she believed that he would be strong, she didn’t think he was this strong, that he was able to eliminate the opponent in less than a minute.
While they were chatting, two more matches were completed. It was then, Erika’s number came up to fight, which she won easily.

The day went on, while the students kept duelling their classmates, but no one showed any mercy to others, even if they were friends. So much is at stake here.
Whether it is due to recent rumours of an upcoming crisis or whether they had warnings from their families, no one is treating this like a competition.
Everyone is acting as if these matches are Death Matches, where only one would be able to walk out alive.
The referees kept watch to make sure that these duels wouldn’t turn into death matches, and both participants would walk out alive, though injuries that can render them useless for a time period are inevitable.
Aaron and Erika fought against others in three more matches, which they won pretty easily.
