Chapter 119: Chapter 119

"So, how is it?" Aaron asked Zara after she took a bite of the chicken leg.

"Hmmmm, it’s so tender and delicious. I have never eaten such a chicken leg in my life. Maybe only chefs from top restaurants may make something like this", Zara was surprised after experiencing Aaron’s cooking skills.

She never thought that Aaron was such a great cook, not even when Aaron invited her an hour ago to accompany him for lunch.

When she got the offer, she first thought that they were going to one of the restaurants in the academy.

Yeah, the academy has its own dining hall, but there are other restaurants as well. These are normally used by the students.

Dusk Academy may be famous for Dark and Death Professionals, but that doesn’t mean only these two professionals are present. Except for light-based professionals, almost every other professional would be present.

This is one of the top five academies.

Who would say no?

Of course, if there were an offer from an academy that specialises in their profession, then one would go there instead of here, as going to their own academy would be more useful than joining the top academy and gaining nothing much at the end, but those academies are few.

So, many professionals like Alchemists, Smiths, Cooks, etc... would join other academies.

There, they would practice their skills and create their products, which, depending on the creator’s character, would be sold either directly to the academy or to the students.

Some would like to sell their products themselves, as there would be a higher profit rate when compared to selling wholesale to the academy. There are few who think that though they lose a little by selling on wholesale, they can save time, which can be used to improve their skills.

Better skills mean better products, which would be sold for much higher profits than what they would be getting from cheaper products.

---

The restaurants like that.

They belong to the academy but were managed by the students. As long as they pay a certain fee, profit or loss, it would be on the students’ shoulders. The Academy would have nothing to do with that.

There are some chefs whose food would become famous, and those restaurants would fill up very fast and are also costly.

Zara thought that since Aaron was taking her on a date, he would take her to such a restaurant. Yeah, though it was still noon and spur of the moment, she believed that it was a date. After all, she had been flirting with her since her friend Reyna introduced them to each other.

Though they were costly, she knew that he had earned a lot recently, both from the loot that he sold in the past few days and the rewards that he got a few weeks back. She believed that he could afford the cost.

When he brought her to his house after her shift ended, she was surprised.

Though she felt bad that she couldn’t enjoy some high-priced, delicious food, she didn’t think about that much. She isn’t a gold digger.

She felt that it was romantic of him to prepare the meals, and she was satisfied with this. She thought that even if the meals are not good, she shouldn’t be too direct about that and has to complement a bit, but she never thought that the food would be so delicious, comparable to some of the restaurants.

This is like enjoying good food at the cheapest price possible.

The restaurants, after all, weigh in not only the costs of the ingredients, but also the cost of labour, building, equipment, and in the end, profit into the bill.

Since Aaron made these himself, there was no building cost or profit that needed to be earned included in this.

So, this should be considered as cheapest price.

"Hmm, this is very good. If I didn’t know that you are a Death mage, I would have thought that you were a cook", Zara spoke to Aaron in surprise.

"Hehe, thanks for the compliment, but what I can do is nowhere near what the cook professionals can do", Aaron replied with a smile.

He was happy that she liked his food. If not, everything would have been a waste.

"No, what I am saying is true. Anyone would believe that you are a cook. Where did you learn to cook?" she asked him.

"Well, my parents are both cooks. Though they are not high-ranking ones, they are very good at cooking in my book. Maybe I am partial because they are parents. Anyway, they are the ones who taught me how to cook".

"Even though cooking has nothing to do with my profession, I learned it before and still practise it to this day. One has to learn skills other than their professional ones to survive in this world. That was my opinion", he said.

Zara nodded as well.

Only depending on the skills of one’s profession would not be good. Sure, for some, knowing those few is more than enough, but that is not for all.

Most have to learn other things in order to survive in this world. She is not a receptionist, but she has to work at a reception desk to earn so that she can have a stable life.

There is no profession named Receptionist to this day.

It was usually filled with other professionals who aren’t keen on killing or couldn’t as they lost their ability to do so due to injuries. These professionals would learn some new skills that would help them in their new jobs.

This was not the only job filled this way. This is a common thing.

It was not just scenarios like that, but there exist many other scenarios, which Zara understood. So, she was in agreement with what Aaron said.

They continued enjoying themselves while eating and chatting with each other.

---

Everything was going well and good.

Zara was satisfied with the food, but Aaron wanted more. This was not something he felt just today, but for days. It was why he asked her out for lunch, as these thoughts were disturbing him. He wanted to put an end to that.

Aaron pushed himself and took action.

He moved towards Zara, who was seated beside him and kissed her on the lips.

He has never done such a thing. Even when things went sexual with Samantha, it was because she was the one who initiated the whole thing, not him, but this time it was different.

Aaron knew that Zara was flirting with him every time they met. He wasn’t that dense, and Zara wasn’t subtle about that either.

So, seeing that there is no time better than the present, he made his move.
