Death League 101: I'm Dead In 10 Minutes!-Chapter 69: “Midnight Hunting Spree (43): Human Flesh Supermarket”
Leinster and the scythe guy watched with wide eyes as a few chunks of red, bloody meat bounced out of the flesh meat sections and fell to the floor.
Plop.
These red meat wriggled and crawled on the floor, slowly getting closer to each other.
Once they met up, the fresh meat actually merged, squirming and wriggling actively, as if— alive.
Then, they slowly formed the silhouette of a red-colored human being.
From less than a meter tall to slowly growing to almost two meters...
The thing looked like a human who only had flesh with no bones or skin.
The bunch of meat wriggled with a strange rubbing noise as it slowly walked towards Leinster and the scythe guy.
One, two, three...
Five.
Five whole humanoid red meats came to life!
At another counter, another meat was laying still, vaguely looking like a whole chicken with smooth skin, its fur plucked clean.
But if Leinster could see the meat closely, it actually resembled...a human in a kneeling position, just...with no heads.
The "chicken meat" slowly stood up from the counter and staggered.
Thud.
Their legs landed on the floor and their size slowly expanded.
One meter, two meter, three...
The "chicken meat with no head" slowly spread its wings that sharply resembled human arms and stomped the floor.
Bang!
The floor shook slightly, becoming a testament to the headless chicken’s strength.
One "chicken" came to life and then came two, three, four, five...
Ten whole such big things crowded over the spacious place, making it extremely cramped.
But no, it wasn’t the end.
A strange fishy smell suddenly wafted from the aquariums and the sound of splashing water rang throughout the area.
Splash. Splash.
Small shrimps resembling tiny humans with hunch backs jumped out of the aquarium.
Once they landed on the floor, they suddenly ballooned to the size of an adult human being.
Then, the giant, grey "shrimps" stood on their tails, waving their sharp whiskers and legs menacingly— but their many legs looked so much like human legs and arms crowded together.
Even their heads vaguely had traces of human faces.
Not to be outdone, fishes leapt out of the aquarium one by one and landed on the floor with a splash.
Just like the shrimp, the grey fishes swelled to the same size as a human being, as if they were injected by water.
But this time, the fishes’ tails slowly turned into a pair of human legs, adorned with dull fish scales.
Their upper bodies and their heads...were that of a fish.
Their dead human-like eyes stared eerily at Leinster and the scythe guy, their fins— webbed human hands, flapped around noisily.
Then came the crabs, crawling out of the aquariums.
Once they landed on the floor, the crabs’ sizes swelled as well, becoming as big as an adult human being.
They slowly stood on their hind legs while waving their extremely large pinchers that could snap a metal into two.
But the pincers were giant human hands and their shells looked too much like human spines.
Once the "avengers" were assembled, the fishy smell mixed with rotten meat became so strong that Leinster and the scythe guy’s faces turned green.
"Blergh! It smells so bad!!"
Leinster almost puked at the unbearable fishy smell but he could only hold his breath as he watched the army of land and sea meat storm towards his place.
Damn. Calling for reinforcement? This is unfair! Where’s the referee? Where’s the coach??
The other ten challengers also saw the monsters that suddenly popped up out of nowhere and they all shuddered, their faces turning pale.
"W-what’s going on? What are those monsters??"
"R-run! We have to run!"
All those strange things looked like they were at least level two monsters!
The ten challengers didn’t hesitate to crawl out of the aisle, rushing towards other areas but when they saw the row of ghosts standing still like a fence, they subconsciously dragged their b*tt and turning around on all four.
"Damn! Damn! Why are those ghosts still here??"
"T-there are so many of them!"
"Ugh! Can we cut through a path with our combined abilities?"
"I...I don’t know!"
The ten challengers fell into a disarray while unknowingly, the challengers in other stores were all driven toward the supermarket.
As more and more challengers were trapped in the supermarket, the number of ghosts increased sharply and they tightly blocked all exits leading out of the supermarket.
A few stray challengers who weren’t driven into the supermarket had all been devoured without a trace, their desperate screams echoing for a long time.
Leinster and the scythe guy didn’t know that many challengers, including the people they had seen before, had entered the supermarket amidst the local customers’ encirclements.
Then, the supermarket’s employees slowly came out of the dark, slowly approaching the newly-arrived challengers.
At the same time, in other special areas in the supermarket, similar entities as the giant butcher slowly came out, each drawing their unique weapons.
The challengers who were unlucky to stray into the special areas were all locked inside the ghost wall, unable to leave...unless they die.
The audiences who switched between livestreams slowly went silent, their faces turning pale.
[Is this really...just a pseudo level four ruin? Not a real level four ruin??]
[W-why are the ghosts so smart? How did they cooperate with each other to force the challengers to enter the supermarket?]
[Is the supermarket the last stage or something? Is this the peak?]
[No, no, I-I think this is still not the peak yet, just a prelude!]
A few challengers who didn’t enter the current ruins popped up one after another, each bringing bad news.
[I can assure you, these monsters are planning something big. Just see. The supermarket isn’t going to be the end game.]
[There are still more?? Fck! Fck! Fck!]
[I think...this ruin is slowly turning into a level four ruin.]
[Is it because there are a few level four veteran challengers inside, making the ruin evolve on its own?]
If that’s the case...
It would be bad news.
Leinster didn’t have time to see the audience’s comments.
He gripped his chain, his back was stuck to the scythe guy’s back.
Despite the scythe guy’s disgust visible on his face, the guy didn’t move away and also gripped his scythe tightly.
"Heh, criminal, can you clean up these mobs?"
The scythe guy taunted.
"Hmph. I can! Just focus on your own thing!"
Once the words dropped, Leinster immediately swung his chains like a lasso and the chains swiftly wrapped around the red meat ghost’s neck.
A crazy smile flashed across Leinster’s face as his eyes lit up in excitement.
"Let’s go!"
Swoosh!
