DB: Legendary Super Saiyan Bloodline at the Start-Chapter 36: The Androids Appear
Chapter 36 - The Androids Appear
"What's wrong, Mr. Cado?"
Trunks looked curiously at Cado, who seemed momentarily lost in thought.
"This is my mother, Bulma. In your timeline... you're not close to my mom?" he asked.
Cado smiled upon hearing Trunks' words.
"I know your mother very well. More than well, actually." he said with a gentle expression.
He turned his gaze toward Bulma, his eyes softening.
"It's just... seeing her now, I'm a little emotional. You've changed a lot.," he added, his voice carrying a note of deep feeling.
Bulma brushed her hair back behind her ear, giving a slightly bitter smile.
"In this world, just surviving is a blessing." she said quietly.
Cado sighed inwardly.
The Bulma of this ruined world was nothing like the lively girl he remembered.
She had become more serious—her youthful, playful aura had completely disappeared, replaced by the gravity of survival.
Bulma, still curious, asked.
"The me from your world... how is she? Is she doing well?"
She was well aware of the existence of parallel worlds, even if the history and outcomes differed.
Cado nodded firmly.
"She's doing great. And I'll protect her—always."
His words were filled with unwavering conviction.
Bulma blinked in surprise.
Those weren't words you said to just a friend.
She thought back to the complex look Cado had given her earlier and then chuckled knowingly.
Studying Cado's face more closely, a small, secret happiness blossomed in her heart.
'Looks like the 'me' from another world made a good choice' she thought mischievously.
"I see..." she said, smiling warmly.
"Then, please take good care of her."
"I will." Cado said without hesitation.
Inside, he made a silent vow—
'I will never let any harm come to my Bulma.'
Standing nearby, Trunks listened to their conversation, utterly confused.
'What are they talking about? Couldn't they just talke more clearly?'
Trying to shake off the awkwardness, Trunks asked.
"And... what about Vegeta? How is he?"
Bulma's voice held a trace of longing.
Even in this devastated timeline, she still cared deeply for Vegeta.
Cado thought for a moment before answering carefully.
"He's... well, he's still the same old Vegeta."
Upon hearing this, Bulma laughed with relief.
"That's good to hear... that's good..."
It brought her comfort knowing that, at least in another world, everyone she loved was doing well.
Trunks, however, gave Cado a strange look.
Vegeta, still the same?
He remembered the battered and broken Vegeta he had seen.
Was that really considered "good"?
As they chatted, a sudden dull thud echoed through the underground base.
Boom!
The entire room shook violently. The lights hanging from the ceiling flickered, swinging wildly.
"Lord Trunks! The androids are here!"
A young child burst into the room, panic written all over his face.
Trunks immediately turned to Cado.
"Mr. Cado!" he called urgently.
Cado glanced briefly at Bulma, then his expression hardened.
"Let's go. I'll deal with them." he said, his voice cold and resolute.
Even though this Bulma wasn't "his" Bulma, he couldn't stand by and watch her suffer.
Above ground, chaos had already erupted.
Endless streams of bullets rained toward two human figures striding through the battlefield.
Explosions from RPGs pounded the ground, sending fire and smoke into the sky.
The stench of burning rubble and scorched metal filled the air.
Yet, despite the overwhelming assault, the two figures walked forward without the slightest hesitation.
"Heh. Pathetic insects." sneered a young man with neatly parted black hair.
With a casual motion, he pointed a finger, and a beam of energy erupted from it.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Explosions rocked the ground, vaporizing the defenders instantly.
Half of the resistance firepower vanished in an instant.
"Hey, 17! You're killing too many!"
A blonde girl frowned in dissatisfaction.
"If you kill them all, what are we supposed to do for fun later?"
These two were none other than Android 17 and Android 18, creations of Dr. Gero—and the very monsters who had turned this world into a living hell.
"Heh, don't worry..." 17 smirked.
"If we don't make a big mess, Trunks won't come out to play."
"It's been a long time since we last hunted him, hasn't it?"
17's lips curled into a cruel smile.
"This time, he's mine." 18 said, crossing her arms with an annoyed look.
"Last time you jumped in first, beat him half to death, and he didn't show his face for two whole months. I was bored out of my mind!"
"Fine, fine." 17 said with a laugh.
"I'll leave him to you. I'll just have fun cleaning up the rest."
With a flick of his hand, another deadly beam swept across the battlefield.
"No... no...!"
A desperate rebel clutched his head in terror as death approached.
In that instant, the soldiers in the trenches lost all hope.
Their eyes dimmed, like snuffed-out candles, and they simply awaited the inevitable end.
They were only ordinary people.
No matter how fiercely they fought, they were powerless against the might of the androids.
For years, their so-called resistance had been little more than a hollow dream.
A faint hope that maybe, just maybe, they could wound the androids.
But reality was cruel.
Every attempt ended the same way—massacres, complete annihilation.
BZZT!
A deafening explosion roared out.
Yet, strangely, the soldiers in the trenches remained unharmed.
"What's going on?"
Confused, the rebels cautiously peeked out.
"It's Trunks! Trunks is here!" someone cried out in relief.
Just as the deadly beam had been about to claim them,
Trunks and Cado had arrived—blocking the attack in time.
"Finally, the little mouse shows itself." 17 said, scowling as he saw his attack interrupted.
Trunks stood before him, golden light crackling around his body.
His hair was now bright and wild—he had transformed into a Super Saiyan.
"Androids! Your reign ends today!"
Trunks growled through clenched teeth.
Their crimes against humanity could only be answered with death.
"Hahaha! You? Kill us?"
17 burst into laughter, mocking him mercilessly.
"You must have hit your head last time!"
Trunks gritted his teeth but said nothing.
He knew the bitter truth:
On his own, he couldn't beat them.
But this time was different.
He turned slightly and pointed toward the androids.
"Mr. Cado, those are the ones!" he said firmly.
"I see..." Cado replied calmly.
His eyes never left 17 and 18.
Cado couldn't deny it—
18 was beautiful, her features flawless.
But he knew better.
These androids had lost all trace of humanity.
They were monsters in human skin.
"Tch, so you found yourself a helper, huh?"
17 sneered.

"Doesn't look like much."
In this ruined world, 17 and 18 believed themselves to be invincible.
No matter what kind of reinforcements Trunks found, they were certain no one could defeat them.
But today...
They would realize how wrong they were.
