Days of Living with My Sister-in-Law-Chapter 154: Flipping the Table
COUGH, COUGH, COUGH!
An Zhiwen patted his chest vigorously and said excitedly, "Kid, are you sure you want to go all-in? Let me tell you, you’re guaranteed to lose this hand. But I’m a kind-hearted person. I’ll give you a chance to take it back and replay the hand."
"Replay the hand just because you say so? I’m all-in." Chen Xiaobei looked at the croupier and said, "Miss, deal the cards!"
At the same time, he activated his Nine Nether Eyes, keeping them locked on the hands of the croupier and An Zhiwen, afraid they might try to pull a fast one.
But his worries were for nothing. The beautiful croupier quickly finished dealing the cards. An Zhiwen was holding a pile of junk, whereas Chen Xiaobei had three sixes.
A sure win!
"An Zhiwen, since you were the one who went all-in first, why don’t you show your cards?" Chen Xiaobei urged flatly.
An Zhiwen’s face went completely dark, his expression so venomous he looked like he wanted to slaughter Chen Xiaobei on the spot.
He finally understood: this Chen Xiaobei was a memory expert, just like him. He had deliberately lost the first two rounds to lower his guard, only to bait him into this hand.
What a vicious strategy! An Zhiwen’s teeth chattered with rage.
But at that very moment, Song Chengdong suddenly piped up, laughing with undisguised glee, "Hahaha, Xia Xue, your boy toy is a real comedian. Young Master An’s gambling skills are second to none. He gave you a chance and you didn’t take it. You must be out of your mind."
"Young Master An, show your cards! Smack him in the face!"
Prompted by Song Chengdong, the surrounding spectators also began to chant, "Show them! Show them! Show them!"
"Hey, are you going to show your hand or not?" Chen Xiaobei said impatiently. "It’s fine if you don’t. We’ll just call it your loss. Settle up so I can leave."
As he spoke, Chen Xiaobei shamelessly placed his hand on Xia Xue’s butt. Wrapped in tight jeans, her perky posterior felt incredibly elastic. The sensation was exquisite. Xia Xue was so hot and bothered by the touch she couldn’t bring herself to resist, her face turning as red as a ripe apple!
Just then, An Zhiwen slammed his cards face down on the table and snarled, "Fine, you win this round. But if you want the money, you’ll have to play another game with me. If you can beat me, you can leave immediately."
As his words fell, you could have heard a pin drop in the room. No one was stupid. It was obvious that An Zhiwen couldn’t stand to lose and was starting to resort to foul play.
Sure enough, no sooner had he finished speaking than a dozen bodyguards surrounded the card table. Their ferocious glares made Xia Xue’s heart pound in her chest.
"Xiaobei, what do we do?"
"I’m here. Don’t be afraid!" Chen Xiaobei wrapped an arm around her slender waist and smiled. "An Zhiwen, how do you want to play?"
"Simple." An Zhiwen produced a new deck of cards and fanned them out on the table. "We each draw one card. Highest card wins. But this time, I’m not playing against you. Since it was Xia Xue’s father who owed me money, she will play against me."
"So, do you dare?"
Staring at Xia Xue’s beautiful face, an almost uncontrollable lust flashed in An Zhiwen’s eyes.
He had already decided. This Chen Xiaobei had utterly humiliated him today. Later, regardless of whether they won or lost, he would have his way with Xia Xue. He would torment her right in front of Chen Xiaobei; only that could quell the fury in his heart!
Hearing this, the color drained from Xia Xue’s face.
But Chen Xiaobei whispered in her ear, "Don’t worry, I’ll help you!" 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Just as he finished, An Zhiwen shamelessly placed his hand on one of the cards. "I’ll go first!"
The card was the two of diamonds, the lowest card in the entire deck. An Zhiwen planned to mislead Xia Xue; since she didn’t know how to gamble, her first thought would surely be that it was a high card.
As expected, after barely touching it, An Zhiwen pulled his hand back. "Actually, ladies first. You go ahead."
Song Chengdong sneered, "Xia Xue, you only get one chance, so why not let me draw for you? Besides, you can’t possibly beat Young Master An. You should just give in and become his little mistress. Young Master An has both money and power. How is he not better than this Chen Xiaobei?"
"Shut your mouth!" An Zhiwen’s eyes were red with rage as he bellowed, "Someone get in here! Drag this son of a bitch out, break his legs, and never let him in here again!"
If that idiot hadn’t egged me on, I wouldn’t have lost face by going all-in. I didn’t even go after him for it, and he still had the gall to gloat. Ungrateful bastard.
Hearing the command, Song Chengdong nearly pissed himself in terror.
"Young Master An, have mercy! I’ll never speak out of turn again!"
"Get him out of my sight, now!" An Zhiwen roared.
Just like that, four bodyguards seized Song Chengdong and dragged him out. A few agonizing screams echoed as his legs were promptly broken.
"Xia Xue, are you going to draw?" An Zhiwen glared at her with bloodshot eyes. "I’m warning you, my patience is wearing thin."
"Don’t be afraid. The sixth card from the left. Trust me," Chen Xiaobei whispered.
"Okay," Xia Xue nodded mutely. Her hand trembling with nerves, she drew the card.
The Ace of Spades!
"Holy shit! How is that possible?"
"She drew the Ace of Spades on her first try? Are we sure this isn’t a movie?"
The crowd was in an uproar. The onlookers stared at Xia Xue and Chen Xiaobei, their eyes wide with awe.
As for An Zhiwen, his face had gone from dark to a deep shade of purple!
This is insane! When I shuffled, I specifically hid the Ace of Spades in that spot and didn’t even let Chen Xiaobei inspect the deck. How could she possibly have drawn it on the first try?
"Sister Xia, you’re amazing!" Chen Xiaobei openly planted a kiss on her cheek, then turned his attention back to his opponent. "An Zhiwen, we won the high-card draw, too. I believe it’s time to settle our account, isn’t it?"
"Let’s see... the pot between us was forty million in chips. I lost six million to you in the previous rounds, so that leaves thirty-four million that you owe me! Since that’s the case, time to pay up!" Chen Xiaobei held out his hand, acting every bit the part of a creditor.
"Pay you? Go fuck yourself!" An Zhiwen exploded, flipping the entire table over. He roared, "You little shit! How dare you cheat in my Ting Yu Xuan? Do you have a death wish?"
Chen Xiaobei feigned innocence. "Are you kidding me? The cards are yours, the croupier is yours, and you’re saying *I* cheated? If you can’t handle a loss, just admit it. Don’t make up such a lame excuse."
"Insolence!" An Zhiwen bellowed. "Chen Xiaobei, I’ve been running Ting Yu Xuan for over a year, and no one has ever dared to walk away with this much of my money."
"I’ll give you two choices. One: leave Xia Xue here for me, and you can come work for me. Two: I break both of your legs, and you can spend the rest of your lives begging on the streets of Songshan."
"Live or die. Make your choice."
WHOOSH!
In an instant, Chen Xiaobei was surrounded by more than a dozen bodyguards.
