Chapter 200: Chapter 198: You don’t get to look relax

Levi’s expression softened, a faint smile breaking through. He pulled Leo closer, making him rest his head against his chest. "Yeah," he whispered. "It does."

Leo suddenly shifted, the quiet mood lasting exactly three seconds before his personality kicked back in. "So," he said, poking Levi’s chest lightly, "are we talking whispers behind lockers or dramatic gasps in the hallway level of realization?"

Levi blinked. "What?"

Leo grinned, wide and mischievous. "Because if it’s dramatic gasps, I want front-row seats. Maybe I’ll even wave."

Levi snorted despite himself. "Really?"

"Yes..." Leo said, sitting up a little, propping his chin on his hand. "Do you think they’ll say I corrupted you? Because I feel like that’s a compliment."

Levi laughed quietly. "You did nothing of the sort. No! you really corrupted the holy shit out of me."

Leo gasped theatrically. "I accept though." Then he flopped back onto Levi’s chest dramatically. "Fine. I’ll accept being labeled the charming menace."

Levi shook his head, smiling as his arm tightened around Leo. "You’re not scared at all, are you?"

Leo hummed. "Scared? Nah." He tilted his head to look up at him. "Worst case scenario, people talk. Best case? They mind their business." Then he paused. "And if they don’t?" He shrugged lightly. "I’ll just be louder than them."

Levi laughed again, this time fuller. "You really don’t know when to be serious."

"Oh, I do," Leo replied, softer now but still smiling. "Just not when I don’t have to be."

He nudged Levi playfully. "Relax. We’re together. We’re alive. Sex didn’t kill us." He smirked.

Levi groaned. "Don’t remind me."

Leo laughed.

Then Levi said. "God knows how Athena is feeling."

Leo sat up and reached for his phone. "I’ll call her."

Levi glanced at him but didn’t stop him.

He unlocked his phone and dialed her number. It didn’t ring for long before the call connected.

"What’s up, girl?" Leo said lightly.

There was a pause on the other end. Then, hesitant, "Hi... I didn’t know you would call."

Leo’s expression softened instantly. Then sighed. "Athena, listen... I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have doubted you. That was stupid of me, and I really am sorry."

"No, no," she said quickly. "It’s okay. I don’t blame you." She hesitated, then asked, "How’s Levi?"

Leo cleared his throat awkwardly. "He’s fine. He’s... uh...he’s here."

A brief silence before she asked. "Can you pass the phone to him?"

"Yeah. Yeah, sure." Leo handed the phone over.

Levi brought it to his ear. "Athena... I’m really sorry."

"It’s okay," she replied softly. "I’m not angry. Not one bit."

Levi swallowed. "So... where are you right now? Aren’t you coming for the exam?"

Silence stretched on the line.

"Athena," he added gently, "people will always talk. Don’t skip school because of what happened. It’s not worth it."

"I know," she said quietly. "I’ll figure it out."

"And Felicia?" Athena asked quietly. "How is she?"

"She’s... okay, I think," Levi replied with a sigh. "But she’s been acting strange lately. Moody. Angry. She hasn’t been attending classes, and no one even knows where she lives. We’ve tried calling, she’s not picking up."

"I hope she’s okay," Athena murmured.

"Yeah," Levi agreed. "We all do."

"What about Armand and Alaric?" Athena asked.

"They’re good," Leo said with a grin. "Still the fine models of the school after the Phantom Fours."

Athena chuckled softly on the other end.

Leo frowned exaggeratedly and leaned closer to Levi. "Okay, okay," he said dramatically. "Why are the two of you talking for so long? I called first, remember?"

Athena laughed on the other end, the sound softer than usual but real. "Someone had to check if Levi was still alive."

Levi snorted, leaning closer so his voice carried. "Barely. Leo won’t stop talking."

"Lies," Leo gasped. "Pure slander."

Athena hummed. "I miss you idiots."

Levi’s expression softened. "We miss you too." He hesitated, then added gently, "Whatever you decide about school... just don’t disappear, okay? Call us. Text us. Anything."

There was a pause, before she mummered. "I will. I promise."

Leo nodded even though she couldn’t see him. "Good. Because if you vanish, I’ll personally hunt you down. Exams or no exams."

She laughed again, a little brighter this time. "Noted."

"And Athena?" Levi said, voice steady. "You’re not alone. Don’t forget that."

"Yeah," Leo chimed in. "And you’re stuck with us. Forever."

Athena let out a soft exhale. "Thank you. Both of you." Leo grinned. "Anytime, girl."

"Call me after your exam," Athena added. "I want to hear how badly you both mess it up."

Levi groaned. "Wow. Supportive."

"That’s my job," she teased.

They said their goodbyes, and the call ended.

Leo dropped the phone onto the bed and stretched, smiling. "See? She’s stronger than she thinks."

Levi nodded, staring at the ceiling again. "Yeah. She is."

Athena on the other hand, played with the cool water of the small waterfall beside their apartment, letting it run through her fingers as she swirled her hand lazily. Soft music floated through the air, mixing with the sound of splashing water. She leaned back slightly against the edge, her bikini straps damp against her skin, a glass of wine resting safely on the edge nearby.

Azrael had been busy all day, and boredom had finally chased her here.

She lifted the glass, took a small sip, and sighed contentedly.

Suddenly she felt a cold shiver run down her spine.

Athena stiffened slightly, sensing someone behind her. She turned just as Azrael stepped into view, shirtless, wearing only a pair of dark shorts clinging to his hips.

Her eyes flicked over him before she could stop herself. "Well," she said slowly, arching a brow, "looks like someone finished work."

Azrael smirked as he stepped into the water, the surface rippling around his legs. His gaze stayed fixed on her, on her wet white hair clinging to her shoulders, on the way water slid down her skin.

"Looks like someone’s been having way too much fun without me," he replied casually.

She tilted her head. "Jealous?"

"Yes." He moved closer, water sloshing softly, then slid an arm around her waist and tugged her toward him. She yelped as he suddenly tickled her side.

"Azrael—stop—!" she laughed, and dropped her wine on the edge as she tried to twist away.

"Nope," he said, grinning as he leaned in to press quick kisses to her cheek, her forehead, the corner of her mouth.

"You don’t get to look this relaxed while I’m stuck working all day." He said as he continued to tickle her.

She laughed harder, splashing water at him. "Stop."

"No" he shot back and stop tickling her, dodging the splash and pulling her closer so she couldn’t escape. "Admit it. You miss me don’t you?"

Athena narrowed her eyes playfully. "Maybe. But, just a little."

He hummed in satisfaction, resting his chin briefly on her shoulder as he rocked them gently in the water. "That’s enough for me."

She relaxed against him, still smiling, fingers lazily tracing patterns on his arm as the music played on.
