Daughter of oblivion: Claimed by four alpha(s)-Chapter 184 - 182: An absolute bitch
"I’m... I’m fine," Athena said quickly, wiping at her eyes, though her smile remained. "It’s just... you’re... I don’t know. I love that you... you feel that way about them. And you even shared it with me."
Azrael’s eyes softened, and he reached across the table again to take her hand in his, his thumb brushing over the back of her fingers gently.
"Athena..." he murmured, voice low, tender, "I like them because they’re my family, my brothers. But you... you’re mine. And I don’t want you to ever forget that."
Athena’s chest tightened further, and she rested her free hand lightly on his, squeezing it. "I know," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
He leaned closer, brushing a stray strand of hair from her face. "And I like that you listen... even when I joke or tease," he added softly, his eyes locking on hers.
"Always," she said with a shy smile, leaning just a little closer.
Azrael chuckled, shaking his head in disbelief at how utterly smitten he was with her. "You really know how to make a man feel lucky, you know that?"
Athena laughed, her voice light and happy. "I think we’re both lucky," she said, her forehead resting gently against his as they sat hand in hand.
Finally, their orders arrived, and the waiter set the plates down with a quiet, graceful flourish. Athena leaned forward instinctively, inhaling the aroma deeply.
"Oh... wow," she whispered, a soft moan escaping her lips as the scents enveloped her. "It smells... incredible."
Azrael watched her with a small, amused smile tugging at his lips. He couldn’t believe how fast her mood flipped. "You always react like that," he teased, his voice low. "Like food is a whole new world you’ve just discovered."
Athena’s cheeks flushed slightly, and she looked up at him with wide, her eyes shining eyes. "Well... it is a whole new world," she replied, her voice playful yet sincere. "You have no idea how hungry I am."
He chuckled softly. "Then eat."
Her heart fluttered, and she smiled softly, glancing back down at her plate. She lifted a fork, letting the aroma linger on her nose for a moment before she took her first bite. The flavors exploded on her tongue, and she closed her eyes in bliss.
"Oh my... Azrael," she breathed, almost unable to speak through the pleasure. "This... this is amazing."
Azrael leaned back in his chair, his gaze fixed on her, drinking in every little reaction. "I’m glad you like it," he murmured. "Seeing you happy... it’s better than any luxury, any gift, any money could ever buy."
Athena’s eyes fluttered open, meeting his, and she felt heat rush to her cheeks. "You really mean that?" she asked softly, a hint of awe in her voice.
"Every word," he said softly.
After eating for a while in silence... Athena finished her bite, she quietly reached into her bag and pulled out her phone. A mischievous smile pulling at her lips.
Azrael who was busy sipping his wine and glancing at the candles flickering across the room, didn’t notice her mischievous movement.
With a soft click, she snapped photos of him, completely off guard. The golden light kissed his sharp jawline, the slight curve of his lips, the way his hair fell perfectly around his face... he looked ridiculously hot. Just like a siren.
Oh God damn him for having that face.
Athena bit her lip softly, trying not to giggle at herself. She scrolled back to the photo, and a soft moan escaped her lips. "Mmm..." she whispered, mesmerized by the image of him.
Azrael’s head snapped toward her, eyes narrowing with curiosity. "What are you staring at?" he asked, a playful edge in his tone.
She didn’t even look up. Instead, she held out her phone, turning it toward him. The photo glowed brightly on the screen, and she gave him a wide, bright smile.
"Look at you, just like this... completely unbothered, and still... impossible to resist."
Azrael’s eyebrows shot up, and a slow grin spread across his face. "You... took a picture of me?"
She nodded, cheeks flushed, her eyes sparkling. "You didn’t even notice! And yet... you’re still... ridiculously hot."
He shook his head, trying to hide his smile, but the heat in his gaze betrayed him. "You’re shameless," he murmured, reaching for his drink.
Athena leaned closer, her eyes never leaving his. "Maybe... but I just had to remember this," she said softly, tapping the screen. "This moment."
Azrael’s grin softened into something warmer, more tender. "I like that," he whispered, his thumb brushing over her fingers. "But... be careful. You might start a habit, and then I’ll never let you put your phone down again."
She giggled, leaning her forehead lightly against his. "Then I guess I’ll have to risk it... if it means keeping a piece of you with me."
He chuckled, his heart racing at how effortlessly she could make even a small, silly moment feel intimate. "A piece of me... huh? That’s dangerous," he teased, though his eyes shone with affection.
Athena smiled up at him, bright and warm, her fingers squeezing his. "Dangerous... yes. But worth it." 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
Azrael’s chest swelled with a mixture of pride and adoration. "God, I love you." he whispered, leaning in to press a soft kiss to her temple. "I absolutely do."
Athena laughed softly, her eyes gleaming.
"You do?"
Azrael pulled her a little closer, his lips brushing against her hair. "Yeah... I do. More than you’ll ever know."
Athena’s smile widened even more. She glanced at her hand shyly, then back at him. "I love you too."
Azrael leaned to his chair, his lips stretching more to the point that his cheek ache. "I love you more.
Athena’s heart was in total mess. She loved him too? How is it even possible to love two people at the same time? First Eryx, now him? Two? Who was she kidding?
She feel like a complete whore and an absolute bitch.
