Chapter 141: Chapter 139: Pull your damn skirt down...

"Next...Kitsune group."

Athena inhaled sharply. Her allies automatically followed her out of the chamber.

Their footsteps echoed on the polished silver floor as they followed the guard through a glowing corridor.

Soft blue lights pulsed beneath the ground like the academy itself had a heartbeat.

Felicia whispered to Athena, "Are you feeling the pressure yet?"

Athena gave a tiny smile. "Pressure is familiar."

Eryx leaned close to her ear... His voice dropped low and teasing. "Try not to be perfect this time, princess. I like it when you need me."

Athena’s breath hitched. Her cheeks burned. Elora blushed for her.

Felicia choked on silent laughter.

They reached the transparent door that shimmered with a fox-shaped outline in soft orange light.

Across the glass, Her group name glowed.

KITSUNE

Athena exhaled. The guard tapped the door. It slid open silently.

"This is your room. Begin your deduction once inside."

Athena stepped in first, her teammates following close behind. The door shut itself.

Inside the Kitsune Group Room. Felicia and Leo gasped so loudly it echoed around the spacious blue-lit chamber.

Their eyes locked on the single, perfectly made bed sitting in the exact center of the room like some sacred treasure.

They both turned to the bed...Then to each other...Then back to the bed...

As if the bed was the one last slice of food that could only keep one of them alive.

Without hesitation, the both of them sprinted toward the bed and jumped at the same time, but Leo, being Leo, landed right on top of Felicia.

"AAAAAAAAARGHHHHHHHH!!!" Felicia screamed like a dying chicken whose spirit was trying to escape her body.

The entire group erupted in laughter, even Elora, the shy red-haired girl, was holding her belly, laughing breathlessly.

Levi, strolling over to the bed. He needed to safe the poor girl.

Levi lifted his hand...and spanked Leo’s backside.

"OUCH!!! What was that for?!" Leo yelped, grabbing his ass.

"Get off her, you big asshole," Levi said as if giving medical instructions.

Leo scrambled up quickly, running a hand through his messed-up hair. "Well it’s not my fault if you can’t get my asshole out of your head," he shot back.

Athena made a small strangled noise and covered her face with both hands, her ears turning red. She let out a tiny "oh my gods..." sound that made Rhydric huff a quiet laugh behind her.

Felicia, who had finally caught her breath, froze for three seconds... Then exploded into hysterical laughter, like she just processed what Leo just said.

She rolled across the bed from laughing too hard, and her white school skirt flipped up, revealing her black protective shorts underneath.

Armand’s brows snapped down instantly.

"Felicia," he said, with a clenched jaw. "Pull your damn skirt down. We get it... you’re alive."

Alaric, standing beside Armand, raised an eyebrow slowly.

He glanced at Armand’s tense face.

Why is he annoyed? he wondered.

Leo snorted. "Someone’s jealous," he said loudly.

Armand cut him a death glare that could have frozen fire.

Athena, watching them all, shook her head with a soft, helpless smile.

Meanwhile, the Phantom Fours had barely reacted, except for Eryx.

Eryx, who had been quiet... Eryx, whose eyes had been following Athena since they entered the room... Eryx, who always acted too bold for his own good, Suddenly moved.

He took several slow steps toward Athena, and she didn’t notice until she felt a warm chest press against her back.

She gasped softly.

Before she could turn, Eryx’s arms slid around her waist, pulling her tightly, firmly, possessively against him.

Her breath hitched. "Eryx...stop." she whispered, trying to wiggle free.

He only held her tighter.

"You should stop running from me, Princess. You chose me remember? I intend to enjoy every second of thet."

Athena’s heart nearly launched itself out of her chest. Did she made a mistake by choosing him?

Felicia’s eyebrows rose to the ceiling.

Leo’s mouth fell open. Levi blinked slowly like he was witnessing a spicy drama scene.

And Alaric’s face... was deadly.

His eyes locked on Eryx with a silent warning that promised violence.

"Cute. Very cute. But maybe, just maybe, we should focus on the reason we’re here. Unless you two want to fail the riddle before we even start."

Eryx didn’t release Athena. He turned his head slightly toward Alaric, smirking in a mocking way. "I’m perfectly focused," Eryx said. Then whispered to Athena, "Just... distracted."

Athena shoved at his arms again, mortified. "Eryx, stop."

This time he let her go slowly, fingers trailing off her waist before withdrawing fully.

Azrael had been quiet the whole time, watching with dark unreadable eyes. His jaw flexed once but he said nothing.

Athena cleared her throat. "Right," she said, voice shaky. "Let’s... um... solve the riddle."

And with that, everyone finally settled down, though the air was HOT with tension, jealousy, and the ghost of Eryx’s hands still lingering on her waist.

Felicia, Leo, and Levi had somehow claimed the entire bed like it was their royal throne.

Felicia lay sprawled proudly across the middle, one leg tossed casually over Leo’s back as if he were merely a pillow. Leo lay flat on his stomach, mumbling into the sheets, while Levi lounged beside him, Felicia’s head resting comfortably on Levi’s lower back.

Felicia fanned herself with her hand like an oppressed queen suffering from too much stupidity in one room.

"Honestly," she sighed dramatically, "loyal subjects are so hard to find."

Leo snorted into the bed. "Loyal subjects? You’re literally using us as furniture."

Felicia didn’t even look at him. "Silence, backrest."

Levi cackled. "Your Majesty, your throne is very uncomfortable."

"And whose fault is that?" she shot back.

The room burst into laughter again.

On the floor, Athena sat cross-legged, hoping to remain unnoticed.

Too bad fate hated her. Eryx’s head rested comfortably in her lap, she wasn’t even sure when that happened. One second he was behind her, the next he had simply lowered himself and claimed her like she was his personal pillow. Athena had tried pushing him away earlier, but Eryx was Eryx, if she pushed, he would cling tighter and louder... so she did the only reasonable thing.

She let him stay.

Her hand hovered awkwardly inches above his hair, unsure if she should pat him, shove him, or let it hang like a confused ornament.

Eryx smirked up at her from her lap, stunningly comfortable. "Relax, princess... You’re too tense."
