Chapter 122: Chapter 120: VIPER...

Athena scoffed at the man’s words, her cheeks burning with a mix of anger and disgust. With a sharp tug, she wrenched her hand free from his grasp and stepped closer, chest brushing against his as she lowered her voice, deadly calm.

"If I were you... I would run now," she whispered. Then she stepped away from him, letting her words hang in the air.

The guy watched her retreat, smirking arrogantly. "What could a girl possibly do to me?" he said aloud.

Before he could even fully register her next move, Athena’s hands shot out and lifted a chair with both strength and precision. In one swift motion, she swung it over her head and brought it crashing down onto the guy’s skull. The impact rattled him backward, sending a painful thud echoing through the cafeteria.

He groaned, clutching his head as the pain hit him hard that he literally saw stars. The other students watching, kept their distance, unsure whether to intervene, while Athena stood tall, chest heaving, eyes sharp and unyielding.

The Phantom Fours’ reactions came instantly.

Theodore’s smile widened, satisfied, and then he slowly threw his head back, shoulders shaking with barely controlled laughter. "God... Athena’s wrath is perfection." he muttered, still chuckling under his breath.

Azrael’s eyes darkened slightly as he rubbed the back of his neck. A small smile playing on his lips. ’My girl’s got claws’ he thought, impressed despite himself. His jaw tensed, a mix of pride and caution in his gaze.

Rhydric, wearing a satisfied smirk, let his eyes linger on Athena. His little moon... really something else, he mused silently, and a flicker of warmth crawled up his chest. He liked it...liked her boldness, her fearlessness.

Eryx, on the other hand, wasn’t fully satisfied with just her attack, but he couldn’t deny the surge of pride he felt. She’s bold, gutsy... damn it, she’s infuriatingly amazing, he thought.

Leo and Levi laughed so hard that they doubled over, clutching their stomachs, hands shaking as tears threatened to fall.

Armand threw his head sideways, shaking it in disbelief, though the corner of his mouth betrayed him with a small smile. Alaric, too, couldn’t help but let out a chuckle despite himself.

Felicia still standing in the female queue, pride glowing in her eyes. That girl... she’s reckless, but damn, she has never been more proud. Even if what Athena did could have gotten someone seriously hurt, nobody cared...atleast the guy is quiet now.

A friend of the guy Athena had attacked stepped forward, hand raised, ready to strike. Athena turned slowly, eyes blazing. "Touch me, fucker, and I’ll make sure you never leave to tell tales," she warned, voice icy.

Then she spun to face every single guy in the cafeteria, gaze sharp, lips curling in a taunting grin. "Don’t even think about crossing me. I’ve seen bigger dicks than what you’ve all got down there." she spat out, the words sharp, insulting, yet delivered with a comic punch that had the crowd splitting between laughter and shock.

The Phantom Fours’ reactions were instantaneous...

Rhydric’s smirk widened, and for a brief moment, he felt the urge to just pull her into his arms and kiss her senseless.

Azrael’s jaw tightened, a small smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. Oh...God...Athena is what every man prays for."

Theodore laughed freely now, the sound unrestrained. Fuck...he can’t unlike this girl...never.

Eryx, fists clenching in restrained excitement, wanted to just sweep her up, spin her around, and shower her with praises...in the audacity of her bold comments. He was completely goner when it came to this girl.

Even in the chaos, one thing was clear. Athena had just proven why nobody in the cafeteria or beyond...should ever underestimate her.

She threw one last sharp glare at the guys, just one and it was enough to make them all flinch and pretend to be minding their business.

They didn’t know the difference between her and a person in psychiatric hospital, is that she’s outside and literally coming to school.

Athena turned away like they were nothing but dust on her shoes. She calmly dished her food as if she hadn’t just turned the cafeteria into a battlefield, then walked over and dropped into the seat beside Levi and Leo.

Leo immediately hooked an arm around her neck, pulling her into a half-headlock hug as he ruffled her hair. "God... I love you, Athena."

Athena laughed, shoving at his chest half-heartedly. "Get off me, you idiot."

Levi was still laughing, nearly choking on his drink. "Bro, you destroyed that guy. I swear I saw his soul leave his body."

Alaric leaned forward from across the table, eyebrows raised in genuine shock.

"I didn’t know you were such a badass."

Athena scooped a spoonful of rice, shrugged lightly. "I warned him. He thought I was joking."

Leo snorted. "Yeah well... now he knows you’re not."

Felicia slid into the seat beside Athena, eyes shining with pride. "You could’ve gone to jail for that chair move," she whispered. "And honestly? I fully support it."

Levi pointed his fork at her. "Athena, you’re becoming my favorite person slowly."

Athena rolled her eyes. "As if I wasn’t already."

Leo smirked, nudging her shoulder. "I swear, if Rhydric wasn’t staring at you like he’s ready to eat you whole, I’d ask you to marry me."

Athena froze mid-chew. "What?"

Levi chuckled. "Don’t look now... actually, scratch that look."

She didn’t turn, but she felt it...the weight of Rhydric’s gaze burning into her from across the cafeteria.

Leo grinned. "Yeah. That look. The I-want-to-pin-her-against-a-wall look."

Felicia groaned. "Leo, shut up."

===================

After school ended, Athena and Felicia made their way toward the parking lot, their bags slung lazily over their shoulders. The afternoon sun hit the asphalt in soft amber waves, cars lined up with drivers waiting.

Felicia spotted her ride and turned to Athena, pulling her into a dramatic, bone-cracking hug.

"Try not to murder anyone else today, okay? I don’t have money to bail you out."

Athena huffed a laugh. "Please, like you wouldn’t hype me up again."

Felicia gave her a wink. "Always." She climbed into her car, still waving until the door shut.

Athena exhaled and turned toward her own driver, only for a sleek blue car to glide in front of her, blocking her path. She blinked, brows pinching together.

Then the window rolled down.

Azrael was sitting there, elbow resting casually on the door frame, that slow, dangerous, unfairly pretty smile stretching across his face.

Ah... fuck that smile.

"Get in," he said smoothly. "Let me drop you off."

Athena blinked once. Twice. "Uh... thank you, but my driver is waiting for me."

Azrael didn’t even glance toward her driver’s car. Instead, he tilted his head slightly, the sunlight catching on his dark lashes, making his already sinful beauty even worse.

The people that actually gave him ’The siren’ name, were actually observant. And the name suits him perfectly.

"You can tell him to go," he said, voice calm... persuasive... too persuasive. "It’s just a ride, Viper."

Athena brows lifted at the new nickname, but didn’t comment. Because how could she?

When...God, why did he have to smile like that? Why did he have to look like that?

"I...I really shouldn’t," she tried again, though her voice wasn’t as firm as she hoped.

Azrael’s smile deepened soft, knowing, almost tender. "Come on, Athena. I insist."

He reached over and pushed the passenger door open gently, as if inviting her into another world.

Athena exhaled shakily. "Azrael... my driver is literally watching."

"Then let him watch," Azrael murmured, eyes locked on hers. "I promise I won’t bite." he paused for a heartbeat. "Not unless you ask."

Athena’s breath caught.

And her driver... was definitely staring at her through the windshield.

Azrael raised a single brow, patient and devastating. "Get in, Athena."

Athena exhaled. "Fine," then she turned towards her driver and walked straight to him.

She inhaled deeply, forcing the nerves down her throat. "Um...sir, you can go," she told her driver. "I’ll come on my own."

The driver blinked once but nodded respectfully, started the engine, and drove off, leaving her standing in the soft evening breeze with Azrael waiting patiently.

She exhaled once... then walked back to Azrael and slipped into the passenger seat of Azrael’s car.

The door clicked shut. And he drove off.

They didn’t speak. For a while, only the sound of tires on pavement accompanied them.

But she could feel him. His gaze flicked to her. Then the road, then back at her.

Her palms were damp; she wiped them on her skirt discreetly, staring out the window more than necessary just to breathe.

Azrael finally cleared his throat.

"Athena... I’m sorry for what happened between you and Eryx." His voice was lower than usual, almost careful. "I haven’t had the chance to apologize properly."

Athena blinked, turning to him. "It’s okay," she said softly. "It wasn’t his fault, really. I was the reckless one."

Azrael’s brows knit slightly, his voice firm.

"You shouldn’t take it hard on yourself, okay?"

She nodded, and when she risked a brief glance at him, he was already looking.

A smile stretched across his face, slow and warm.

Athena narrowed her eyes.

"...Why are you laughing?"

Azrael looked back at the road, but the smile didn’t fade. "I’m not laughing," he said, amusement lacing his tone. "Just... thinking."

"About what?"

He chuckled quietly. "About how you danced at the party." 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

Athena blinked. "What about it?"
