Dark Berserker: Rise of the Forgotten Progenitor-Chapter 19: Burning Fury
Chapter 19: Burning Fury
[...]
[Burning Fury: A great sword forged and sworn to protect Darkston. Its power is enough to pierce through lower species below the Mortal tier{ Ist tier}. Strength + 35]
[Rank: Rare.]
[Character: Flames.]
[Requirements: strength; 70.]
'Tsk, devious old man,' he scowled internally. The chief must have thought he would not meet the requirements, which meant he could not wield it.
Lia had already told him how to use weapons, and he did exactly that by channeling his mana into the hilt.
It still felt surreal as the cold gush of mana ran through him. He had a long way before he could create his mana heart, for only then would he be able to cast wide-ranged spells or draw the mana in the air to boost his physical attacks to the level of popular superheroes like Superman.
Whoosh!
Reddish orange flames coated the blade, the heat made the stunned chief stumble. The reflection of the flames on Cristian's face made him look devious.
His warm smile became twisted and his eyes glowed ghastly green. The flames made swooshing sounds. It licked the oxygen in the air, increasing its intensity as Cristian swung the great sword.
His eyes twinkled, and he slashed vertically. The tip of the blade almost split the chief's nose, and the flames burnt a good portion of his hair.
The other people in the hall felt awe because they saw outstanding skill and precision. They had no idea a few droplets of sweat appeared on Cristian's forehead.
He had lost himself to the invigorating feeling and almost chopped off the chief's head. "I never meant to scare you." he placed the sword back in the scabbard and bowed lightly.
Cristian didn't bow because he felt sorry for the spineless old man. He bowed because the old man had granted him a magnificent weapon that might accompany him on his journey to the first tier; known as the Mortal tier.
The moment the old man nodded, Cristian shamelessly followed up with his other requirements "I would need a belt, for the exquisite blade you kindly handed to me and a room." the chief frowned but reluctantly nodded.
From the moment he figured out this green-haired stupidly charming warrior who left the occupation of a gigolo could wield Burning Fury. hatred grew in his heart.
That blade belonged to his family. It had been passed down from the very first chiefs of Darkston, and now it was about to be desecrated in the hands of a brute warrior who might sell it just to get a harlot to hump.
"Take him to the guest room," he said to his son, but someone else volunteered. "I'll do it." Shelia's lovely voice rang as she took two steps forward. Her gait made the chief's son back out.
Cristian's right brow arched. He could not understand why Shelia, who was supposed to be against him at every turn, decide to do this.
'Maybe she has something important to tell me.' he placed his cards on this thought as the vengeful beauty would always see him in a bad light.
"I have matters to discuss with the chief. Please be a patient, brave warrior. I'll get rid of your injuries before you head to the woods." Anna spoke in a light tone. Unlike her sister, she gave respect to the Chief.
He nodded and followed Sheila. They walked through the silent corridors, which had candles at extreme ends, making the place dark.
Sheila did not even glance at him. He respected her choice and kept silent. After walking for a short while, they arrived at a well-lit corridor.
The orange glow from the candles illuminated the rocky walls and wooden door at the end. He expected Sheila to stop there, but she walked him to the door and also opened it.
Stunned, Cristian had no choice but to go in. A dark room welcomed him, the air much colder than the other rooms as the window was left wide open.
Sheila walked in with a candle she took from the corridor and lit the ones in the room, causing the darkness to disperse.
"We'll go after the Dark Wolf Lord tomorrow and you'll have to lure him out…" she paused and closed the windows.
"He has almost a hundred wolves and hardly leaves his disgusting castle, so we have to think of a way to get into the castle without alerting the scouting wolves." Sheila turned. Cristian had not spoken since she started and while she appreciated that, it also felt like he wasn't concentrating.
"Only two of us?" Cristian queried. And for some reason, it sounded strange to Sheila.
"Yes, the two of us," she answered firmly.
"So we are going to be all alone, together… hmm" he rubbed his chin and gazed at her with a cheeky smirk.
He watched as she battled with her thoughts. Her body trembled, and he guessed she wanted to slam his head with something.
"YOU PERVERT!" she screamed to let it out of her system and the moment she stared at him, her eyes became dazed.
'Go to him'
A voice that sounded like hers endlessly echoed in her consciousness. Cristian eyes shone with intrigue as Sheila seductively made her way toward him, leaned down, and puffed out.
Her hot breath brushed against his face, and he gulped.
~Mmmn~
His eyes widened as her lips connected with his. Cristian felt his entire body freeze. He just wanted to experiment on his skill and it worked perfectly on someone 19 levels ahead, but he never manipulated her to kiss him.
She sucked on his lower lips with fervor but got herself in the next moment and her eyes widened.
Her face glowed like a ripe tomato and she whispered in a mosquito's tone, "I'm sorry.'' Along with that, the sound of the door slamming shut echoed as she fled.
Cristian stood in that same position with flickering eyes. He tried to figure out what made her kiss him. Was there an after-effect when he manipulated someone?
Or maybe Sheila had been attracted to his looks, but his attitude changed her views. But when he manipulated her thoughts, that distaste vanished for a second and she acted of her own accord.
"Odd, but much welcomed," he said, satisfied with this new development.
He licked off her sweet saliva and hummed. Sheila's beauty was indeed one of a kind, and her fierce personality made her more alluring.
It painted a contrast to the book-reading mages of which Arcane mages were popularly known for.
He shook his head as images of her naked body dripping with transparent droplets of water re-emerged.
Lying on the bed made it worse as it seemed like the image was about to get branded into his brain for life! "What is this? You're better than this Cristian," he boosted himself, but it only made it worse.
Maybe one life he could handle, but the virginity of his past self, who had probably lived a few hundred years, became too much for him.
Staying away from women would be the right choice but Cristian wasn't one to back out from a fight especially when it came to his right as a man.
'At least, she'll see me in a better light now that she knows we're both perverts,' he chuckled internally.
The rectangular wooden table caught his attention. He stood up, removed his gloves, and touched the smooth surface.
After a few seconds, nothing happened. The table did not decay, so he tried other objects and got the same result.
"Interesting," he mused while rubbing his chin and searching for anything with life. His search led him to peek out of the window and an olive tree branch was within his reach.
Christian did not stop to think about the consequences of his actions to the tree and he touched a leaf.
His eyes shone with excitement and fear as both the leaf and the entire branch decayed and became dust.
Grabbing a stool, he channeled his affinity, and black, sinister smoke covered his hands. The stool became dust in a matter of seconds, causing him to open his hands, and dust from the decayed leg of the stool poured out.
"Bane of all life," he muttered. The system couldn't be more correct. Without channeling his affinity, it would act automatically when he touches any life, but once it had no life, he had to manually channel his mana.
'I should be really careful about removing these gloves.'
Your support would be much appreciated, thanks!
