Daoist Competition-Chapter 1099 - 289: Heaven-Shadowing Hand on the Peak, Mana Moves Mountains and Rivers (Part 2)
With the token talisman arriving, the disciples of the three sects wouldn’t delay. Instantly, three tunneling lights soared into the air, rushing towards Cloud Peak.
The person emerging from Pingdu Sect was Wu Han Cheng, but just as he reached mid-air, before obtaining the token talisman, he suddenly felt a chill from an icy wind. Shivering uncontrollably, he quickly activated his Protective Treasure Light, focused his gaze, and saw his pupils constrict—there was a Devil crawling on his Treasure Light, biting frantically, trying to drill its way inside.
Immediately, he summoned a blast of Gang Thunder, and in an instant, the Devil exploded into strands of black gas. But just as the gas dispersed, it quickly reformed in the blink of an eye, letting out a sharp scream and jolting its body, darting erratically around him.
Wu Han Cheng furrowed his brow, perceiving that the presence of the Devil meant someone from the Demon Sect had already acted. He dared not be careless; instead of forcibly retrieving the token talisman, he remained vigilant and guarded his surroundings.
Of the swordfight Disciples from Hai Zhen Temple who came, only two remained, as Chen Qingping was already deceased; hence it was the Yu Cultivator who went up to receive the token.
Not far out, he suddenly sensed something amiss. His eyes flashed as he pointed a finger toward a certain spot, shouting, "Reveal yourself!"
Where there was originally nothing, suddenly a mass of black gas emerged, revealing a menacing Devil tearing its mouth wide open, howling furiously. Yet, it seemed to be bound by an invisible Qi Mechanism; no matter how much it struggled and twisted, it could not break free.
Yu Cultivator’s expression remained calm as he raised a hand to unfurl a Jade Scroll and said, "Seal!"
Immediately, a ray of light emerged from the Jade Scroll, capturing the Devil within and casually tossing it into his Sleeve Bag.
Though the Devil was removed, he did not show relaxation. Like Wu Han Cheng, his expression was full of vigilance.
The creature had approached within ten feet before being noticed. Fortunately, only one appeared; had there been ten in succession, he might have been overwhelmed. If dozens or hundreds appeared, the outcome would be hard to predict.
Upon seeing the token talisman descend, Yuan Yang Sect’s Yang Bi transformed into a Sword and soared out. As he neared the token talisman, he suddenly smiled, flipped his wrist, wielding the Dharma Sword, and leapt forth, slicing with a shuddering sound, cleaving the invisible Devil into two.
But the Devil shivered, its body reconsolidating instantly. Sensing Yang Bi’s might, it did not challenge him directly but instead drifted tens of meters away, emitting piercing shrieks threatening to burst the eardrums.
Just then, a tidal roar echoed in their ears, followed by a hearty laugh, prompting everyone to look towards the source.
From the depths of the Demon Cloud surged a river as torrential as a waterfall, black as ink, filled with countless Devils wailing and shrieking. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
Standing atop the river was a man, clad in a yellow robe with black hair, sleeves wide, slender in stature. Atop his head, three vortices of Gang Cloud swirled with wisps of black mist, indicating a sign of condensation.
Eyeing the triad of Gang Clouds, the trio’s hearts trembled. Their expressions subtly shifted as they involuntarily retreated a few steps, assuming a stance of facing a formidable enemy.
Elder Ying Ya exclaimed, "Nascent Soul Second Realm?"
A Bu Tian Pavilion elder’s eyelid twitched slightly, murmuring, "Last swordfight, I heard of Nether Spring Sect’s Feng Haiyang but never met him. Surprising his Daoist Cultivation is so high; he just needs one opportunity to step into Nascent Soul Third Realm."
With worry on his face, Elder Ying Ya noted that even if Feng Haiyang seemed to intend battling the three alone, Demon Sect Practitioners excel at fighting many, not necessarily weakened in strength. Moreover, his Daoist Cultivation already overshadowed the three sect disciples.
Suddenly, he noticed a white light rising from Haiyin Sect’s direction, and a white-robed, high-crowned Daoist flew towards the token talisman’s landing spot. He gathered his Mana and shouted, "Fellow Daoists, who will retrieve that token talisman?"
On Yuxiao Sect peak, Zhou Huang glanced, seeing no movement from Mingcang Sect, briefly contemplated, then said, "Qing Yun, since True Master Huo has no intention, you retrieve the token talisman. If the Haiyin Sect Disciple is weak, find a way to kill him."
Zhou Qingyun’s eyes subtly moved; she saluted gracefully, "Yes, young woman shall proceed."
Ready to depart, she suddenly felt a tremor beneath her feet, stumbled slightly, nearly losing balance, and gazed in astonishment.
Atop Yao Yin Sect’s peak Dharma Platform, Zhang Yan sat unmoving, his robes fluttering, atop his head a five-colored Gang Cloud roared, within which a yellow Radiant Energy vortex spiraled swiftly, shooting into the air before unfurling outward!
All cultivators in Chengyuan Gorge felt the sky darken above them, their vision suddenly engulfed by a hand large enough to cover the entire sky.
This formidable hand reached out from Yao Yin Sect’s mountain, extending into the clouds. Its palm slowly rotated, amid resonant rumbling, crashing towards Haiyin Sect’s mountain as if intending to crush it.
Everyone watched in shock. Cultivators typically reach only a thousand meters in range when channeling power, yet Zhang Yan’s Xuanhuang Great Hand spanned over fifty kilometers of river — what immense and magnificent Mana!
A Haiyin Sect elder stood up, face changing, shouting, "It’s the Xuanhuang Dragon Capturing Hand, Brother Wei Chi, retreat quickly!"
The might of the Xuanhuang Dragon Capturing Hand depends entirely on the caster’s Daoist Cultivation, and with Zhang Yan’s First-class Elixir Formation, the strength manifests with potential to move mountains and overturn seas.
Wei Chi Yun, heeding the sect elder’s command, hesitated not. He immediately protected his face and transformed into white light, flying away.
No sooner had he departed than the Xuanhuang Great Hand fell and landed on the peak, emitting a deafening crash. Rocks scattered, vegetation fractured — the peak lay in ruins. Without Prohibition’s guard, the mountain might have shattered.
Watching the hand transform into rolling Yellow Smoke, wrapping around and retracting the token talisman, the scene turned silent as the full crowd momentarily paused.
