Chapter 832: Chapter 832: That Occasional Spike of Blood Pressure

Loki Familia’s upper executives had gathered together — a rare sight.

Normally, they already met often. Aside from Finn, who handled most internal affairs, Gareth and Riveria typically had more free time. But once all three simultaneously reached the threshold of Lv.7, the number of things they genuinely needed to take care of increased dramatically.

Riveria and Gareth had resumed their daily training and were frequently leading members of the familia into the dungeon for drills. Finn, on top of accompanying them, still had to manage internal administrative matters. With so much on his plate, he hadn’t had the time to consider expedition plans.

After all, an expedition wasn’t something one could simply decide on a whim. It required extensive research and an enormous amount of supplies. Fortunately, spatial-type magic items eased the burden; otherwise, logistics alone would have been overwhelming.

Beyond logistics, manpower and objectives were also critical considerations. The purpose of an expedition was to explore the unknown. Even if Bell and Ais had already ventured into that territory, Finn still intended to lead the familia to witness it with their own eyes. It was a tangible achievement—something worthy of praise and history.

Leading a familia was entirely different from going alone. Of course, the latter was actually far more difficult, but neither Ais nor Bell cared about fame. Since neither would bother publicizing their deeds, Finn felt compelled to shoulder that responsibility.

Because of all that, his workload had increased significantly.

The three sat together in a room.

Finn couldn’t help but sigh.

"We’ve all gotten busy lately, haven’t we?"

"Well, we’ve stepped into a brand-new realm," Gareth replied with a touch of resignation, though a spark of excitement lingered beneath it. "Training that had nearly lost meaning now needs to be reclaimed."

Finn and Riveria understood. Even as top-tier adventurers, they weren’t exempt from the desire to advance further. Even if they hid it well, the yearning for progress never faded. Watching the newer members grow only fueled that fire.

Now that the opportunity was here, they could no longer waste time.

"As for Ais," Finn said, "according to Loki, her growth lately has been incredibly fast."

Riveria immediately recalled the last update Loki had performed in her presence—those soaring stats and the new skill Ais had acquired. It was hard to imagine how far she had grown since then.

"Riveria, you saw her directly last time, didn’t you? What are your thoughts?"

"Three months to complete all her Status accumulation. What do you two think?"

"As expected..."

Neither Finn nor Gareth looked surprised.

"She didn’t just return to update her Status last time—she came back specifically for a level-up."

"Not unexpected, really."

Though surprising, it still made sense.

Finn leaned forward, resting his chin on his hand.

"So Ais’s rapid growth really is directly connected to Bell."

"That insane training style, the fixation on practical combat—what we’d consider suicidal—actually gave her such a breakthrough."

From Ais’s brief descriptions, they already understood: normal people would die from such training. Finn genuinely wondered how Ais survived it. It was practically a dance with death.

He knew any normal adventurer, after one near-death experience, would realize they had simply died—only to be dragged back afterward.

"Ais has a quality none of us, or any adventurers, possess," Riveria said.

"She is... pure."

She struck at the core of the matter.

"Ever since learning that Allen and Aria were still alive, she made her decision. With a clear goal, she craves power more than anyone. She’d do anything to obtain it."

"Training that brushes shoulders with death? To Ais, it’s probably the simplest thing in the world."

"And she knows it herself—she probably can’t die."

Riveria clearly pointed out the essential differences: a clear goal, and a heart unafraid of death. These were Ais’s "qualities."

Though Ais herself probably wished she didn’t have them.

Riveria sighed softly.

"I just wish that child wouldn’t push herself so hard..."

She knew exactly what Ais was like—always trying to act strong since childhood, attempting things far beyond her capability just to prove herself.

Suddenly, a figure materialized and wrapped its arms around Riveria mid-sentence.

"!?"

Finn and Gareth nearly leaped out of their seats. But when they saw who it was clinging to Riveria, their faces twitched, and they slowly sat back down. It was genuinely heart-stopping.

Finn rubbed his forehead helplessly. This child was going to put him in an early grave.

"Ais, next time you show up, could you please not hide yourself so well?"

"Oh."

Ais, still burying her head in Riveria’s chest, gave a muffled reply. Seeing her refusal to even lift her head, Finn knew this would happen countless more times.

And finally, the thing he feared had happened.

’Isn’t this Bell the Second?’

He’d once thought only Bell would act like this. But now it seemed their precious, heavily protected girl had learned the trick—and was even better at it.
