Damned Healer-Chapter 702: Everything Will Be Okay
The day was breaking beneath the mantle of a radiant, sacred forest. The first rays of sunlight didn’t just shine, they seemed to melt like liquid gold over the multicolored foliage, revealing a sanctuary where time itself felt like it held no power.
At the center of that forest stood a home of deceptive simplicity. At first glance, it was just a house made of wood and stone; yet the very structure exuded an aura of power so dense it would make even the proudest Immortal drop to their knees, catatonic. Every inch of that building was a treasure beyond compare.
Outside the house, sheltered under the shadow of a colossal tree whose leaves pulsed with a living rhythm, there was a simple wooden chair.
There, the world seemed to find its balance.
A small woman sat there, wearing a smile brighter than the dawn itself. Her skin, flawlessly white like the finest porcelain, contrasted with the cascade of long black hair. The strands fell in soft waves, framing a delicate face that would easily be recognized as that of an oriental woman on Earth.
Her white dress, flowing and ethereal, hugged her curves with gentle reverence. The thin fabric shaped itself around her full, rounded breasts, where, nestled against the warmth of her body, a small and delicate figure found nourishment.
It was a baby, just a little over a month old. He nursed in absolute peace, unaware of the power his progenitor radiated. He was a tiny jewel of new life, moving softly as he fed.
The woman’s eyes held nothing but the purest love imaginable. There, she was no longer someone capable of shaping reality itself. She was just a happy mother, feeling her baby being nourished by her very essence.
Nearby, at the doorway of the house, a pair of eyes silently watched that beautiful scene.
It was a man who... had an absolute presence. He was like a force of nature compressed into human form. Over three meters tall, with a "completely rounded" physique, his gigantic silhouette made anyone in his presence look insignificant.
His dark, voluminous hair fell over massive shoulders, framing a chubby face — or rather, a face filled with such density it inspired terror.
’She really... only radiates pure and boundless love for him.’
That figure thought, quite satisfied.
’Indeed,’ another voice echoed in his mind. It was identical to his, yet carried a completely opposite coldness and malice.
The truth was that... internally, that figure was two, and at the same time one. It was complicated for anyone who didn’t know them to understand clearly. In short, he chose to live with his soul split into two poles, one side Yin and the other Yang.
It was something ancient that had happened to him, and obviously, he could have returned to normal a long time ago. But... for some reason, he felt better being two. Both knew they were one single being; they just lived pretending to have two different identities.
Back to the present. The two sighed in sync, watching from a distance their wife and second child.
At the same time, they understood firsthand the reason the Laws of the World had a strange tendency to reincarnate certain people.
When two souls reached an extreme level of hatred and conflict in one life, to the point of deeply hating each other, the Laws of the World would automatically tend to reincarnate them very close to one another. Usually in the same family, sometimes as mothers and children.
But... that didn’t always work. It was shocking, but not uncommon to see relatives killing each other, or children, mothers, and fathers destroying one another, unable to accept each other.
Even so, those who still carried kindness in their hearts would eventually surrender to the natural love and connection that formed. The love of a mother and father for their child was the most powerful and instinctive force that life forms could feel. In that way, ancient hatred could be healed forever.
After a few seconds of admiring the two of them, that figure slowly moved toward them.
Quickly, the woman’s eyes lifted in his direction, radiating warm emotion.
"He’s really lively and full of life, hehe..." she murmured, letting out a soft, happy laugh.
He approached at the exact moment the baby had finished feeding. The woman gently lifted him to shoulder height and began making soft movements to help him burp and fall asleep.
The baby relaxed and quickly drifted off. With a smile, she handed him to his father.
He took a deep breath, holding that tiny life form with the utmost care. His eyes flashed for a moment as he examined him closely. Not the body, but the soul.
After a few seconds, he nodded. "Everything is correct."
That was a daily ritual he performed, evaluating the newborn’s soul to make sure it was completely stable.
At that moment, the woman looked up at the sky, cheerful, and waved. "Daughter, come."
Hovering silently beneath the infinite blue was another woman. Nearly two meters tall, her figure was an absolute copy of her mother, but with proportions that seemed doubled, resulting in an equally intense presence and beauty.
Her long black hair was tied up in a tall, elegant bun. Her eyes, a beautiful light brown, observed the world with mystical clarity. She wore white garments richly adorned with jewels and details in sky blue and silver, highlighting her enchanting curves.
She moved smoothly through the skies, landing right in front of her father and mother.
"Meru, you finally came back," the man said calmly.
She nodded, lowering her head, unable to look at her little brother.
Meru had stayed by her mother’s side when he was born and helped with everything. But once everything stabilized, she stepped away without looking back, because she felt terrible.
"If you came back, then you’ve finally accepted that you’re an older sister now. Here." He spoke gently and moved his hands, offering the small baby, who was sleeping like a rock.
Meru took a deep, somewhat hesitant breath. Then she felt a soft hand touch her shoulder. When she turned, she met her mother’s warm smile and gaze.
Seeing her contagious joy and happiness filled Meru with reassurance. With a slight nod, she turned to the baby and reached out, holding him delicately against her own body.
Without saying anything else, the couple intertwined their hands and then disappeared, as if they had stepped into the void.
Meru was left alone. She took a deep breath; she really needed that moment with her little brother.
Minutes passed.
She felt his warmth and remained silent, overcome with bitterness.
"Forgive me..."
Suddenly, her voice came out choked.
"I couldn’t help you before... but I swear nothing that happened to you was forced. My father and I would never guide you toward death."
At that moment, she felt the small body tremble softly. She pulled him back a little to look at him and saw his little brown eyes fixed on her. There was only innocence and purity there.
She swallowed hard.
Before, she had done everything to make sure he became strong enough so he wouldn’t need to use that... but his karma wasn’t white and pure; there was still a lot of darkness from his past. That was why he had to go through all that, and she couldn’t interfere beyond what she had already done.
On top of that, a missionary was someone both blessed and cursed. In 99% of attempts to break mortality and become Immortal, they died, because the Laws of the World knew they had been favored by Heaven’s Will; it was a form of justice for mortals who had to earn everything the hard way.
That was why there was no way for him to become Immortal and win that fight back then. It would be possible in the future, after a lot of effort and preparation, but he didn’t have that time.
A soft, cute little grunt slipped from the baby’s lips.
Meru took a deep breath and hugged him, as if she wanted his soul to feel all her warmth and sincerity.
"Darian... I promise everything will be okay..."
Of course, there was no response, but the baby closed his eyes and seemed extremely comfortable, nestled between her breasts.
"Oh? You liked this before, didn’t you? It’s fine, I’m your older sister, and she won’t get mad at you. Enjoy your new life to the fullest." Meru murmured with a faint smile.
She knew her mother deeply wished to have other children, but for her parents, that was extremely difficult. The power of Heaven’s Will could even force a pregnancy, but the soul born there wouldn’t be able to withstand the karma of having those two as parents.
So either it would have to be abandoned right after birth, or it would die very quickly. Both options were impossible to accept.
However, if that soul had a direct connection to the karma of the two of them — and even to that of the older sister — everything would be different.
Meru pampered him until he fell asleep peacefully, leaving behind all fear and insecurity. Even if he didn’t know or remember anything, she was sure of one thing.
He would grow up and become someone important. He would be far, far greater and more incredible than before.
