"Cai’er!" Fan Ha said, losing the picture of calm that she had solidly maintained since she stepped into the office. She looked livid.

"What do you think you are doing trying to involve yourself in my affairs!" she added, as she stood up, cutting a terrifying figure that would have made Fan Cai frozen in fear if he had not been consumed by his emotions too.

"It’s my life, I will do what I want with it," Fan Cai defiantly said not losing a single step.

"Like I’d let you. I’ve let this go on for long enough," Fan Ha coldly said, reaching out for Fan Ha with one of her hands.

Fan Ha already familiar with what she wanted to do, tried to escape the snake-like hand. She was aiming to seal his cultivation base, something she did often when he was younger.

From the moment he was born, his cultivation realm was already in the core formation realm. Being born with such strength wasn’t all too strange, especially when it came to spirit beasts and their children.

It was difficult for powerful spirit beasts to sire children, they could go for tens of thousands of years of trying and never get one and if by chance they get lucky and have one, that child is usually born with certain advantages at birth and one of them is their strength.

Unlike humans who are born with no cultivation base no matter how illustrious their parents are, the same couldn’t be said for spirit beasts or even spiritual plants. If they are powerful enough, their talents and strengths of their bloodline are transmitted down to their children.

Two spirit beasts at the soul formation realm have a chance of producing an offspring that already had the strength of a domain expert. They would still have to go through the domain realm tribulation though, to officially seal it, but when it comes to raw strength, even without undergoing the baptism of the tribulation they would still have at least 70-80% strength of a bonafide domain expert.

Such strength even if it wasn’t the complete thing still put them heads and shoulders above cultivators that were at the peak stage of the palace realm and even several quasi domain stage experts.

It rarely happened, two soul formation realm spirit beasts having children, but the few who actually did and when they were at the soul formation realm at that, their offspring would either be born with the strength of a domain expert, and for some to prevent their children from immediately attracting the tribulation, they seal that bloodline and talent and let them gradually unlock said seals by the gradual improvement and assimilation of the strength within them.

This was what his mother had done with him when he was born. She sealed his bloodline and talents, and for the better part of the decade, he lived it with even his cultivation base sealed. He had to fight, survive, and do everything else without relying on what he was born with.

The more refined he got with the control and use of everything within his base body, one of the seals would be removed and with it, access to some of the attributes, abilities, and strengths that had been locked away, and eventually all seals got unlocked and when it did, the tribulation for the core formation realm fell, and though it was terrifying, he managed to get through it easily.

At that point, he already had firm control of all the strength and abilities he had been born with. His mother occasionally would still seal his cultivation base to keep him humble and to ensure he was still keeping up with his training in excavating more of his potential and converting the advantages of his bloodline into his personal strength.

That seal had quickly grown to be one of his greatest nightmares as it was always a prelude to some gruesome experience, and also the feeling of suddenly losing your strength wasn’t pleasant either.

Seeing that seal rear its ugly head again, he tried to step back, but he found himself stuck. He couldn’t move his feet. No matter how much he tried, it wouldn’t budge. He could only watch on helplessly as his mother’s hands reached out to him.

Despite not knowing what his mother’s plan was, he did know once that seal landed, he would be subject to whatever she wished just as it had always been.

"Damn it!" he roared internally, as he saw that grey light shine, however just as it was about to connect, it got snuffed out by a bony hand that had appeared in front of it.

"That’s enough Fan Ha," said the owner of that hand.

Fan Cai looked up and it was none other than Meng Jiaiyi.

"Thank you," he said in a rather raspy trembling voice.

"You both are the same," said Meng Jiayi with a trace of anger in his voice, despite how calm he sounded.

"What is he angry at me for?" thought Fan Cai, as part of that anger seemed directed at him too, and not his mother.

Meng Jiayi turned his attention from Fan Cai to Fan Ha who snorted as she pulled back her hand from his grip.

"This might as well be as good a time as any to announce it," he said, his words bringing a change to Xie Yuan’s face. She seemed like she was already aware of what he was about to say, and whatever it was, it was likely not good based on the pained, and regrettable look she had on.

Her reaction drew a curious look from Fan Ha, who turned from cold and annoyed to quizzical.

"Jiayi what are you planning to do?" she asked, her voice raising and lowering a few decibels as she did, showing how agitated she was.

"Nothing much, just an announcement," Meng Jiayi leisurely said as he took his seat, and took another sip of wine, smiling contedly before his eyes finally settled on Yu Hui.
