Chapter 70: Chapter 70: Attracting Women Is His Fault

"Hey handsome, add me too!"

"And me."

"..."

Several women crowded around, encircling Damon Hawke.

Elara Don stayed aside, watching as the man’s expression turned cold and impatient, her face full of schadenfreude.

Being too handsome wasn’t his fault.

But stepping out to attract attention was!

Couldn’t he just stay away from her?

Why insist on appearing in the public eye?

Didn’t he know he was like a piece of honey cake?

Elara whispered complaints in her heart, and just as she was enjoying the show, her gaze was caught by his dark eyes.

Darker than a deep pool, making people afraid to look directly.

Elara’s eyes sparkled, and she quickly averted her gaze, pretending to fix her hair.

From the corner of her eye, she saw the man pushing aside the women blocking his path and walking toward her.

"Hey sweetie, don’t be mad! Don’t you know what kind of person I am? All those other women look the same to me; I don’t even glance at them! Only you are the one I cherish in my heart."

Her shoulders were pulled into his embrace, his voice gentle and magnetic in her ear.

His warm breath brushed against her ear, sending slight tremors through her.

Elara got goosebumps all over, her legs went weak, and she almost lost her balance.

Sweetie!

What’s this guy saying!

"Wow, what a devoted man!"

"With such a handsome husband, how could his wife still stand to be mad at him?"

"Exactly! Some people really like to bask in their privilege!"

"What a shame, how can that woman be worthy of such a handsome man?"

"..."

Several women pointed at Elara with envy and pity before leaving, disappointed.

Elara glared at the man’s dark eyes, seeing the teasing glint in them, and pushed him away with a flushed face.

"What’s with the ’sweetie’? Mr. Hawke, I didn’t realize you had a talent for acting! The Oscars owe you a statuette!"

Using her to fend off admirers, this guy was really devious.

The best part was, he used that deadly charming voice. Luckily, her willpower was strong enough to resist!

"I’m not acting! Because I know, you’ll marry me sooner or later! Sweetie!"

Damon’s brows arched slightly, his handsome face full of confident arrogance.

The setting sun cast a hazy glow over him, as if coated with a misty halo.

Elara’s heart skipped a bit, and she quickly looked away, trying to calm her racing heart, "Mr. Hawke, I’ll say it again, I have a boyfriend!"

Stay calm!

Don’t be swayed by good looks!

"Oh? Really? When will you introduce him? I’ll help you check him out!"

Damon spoke casually, sure she was just making excuses.

"You..."

Elara glared at him, utterly speechless.

How can such a person exist?

Who is he to her, anyway?

Does she need his approval to date someone?

Maybe she should find someone to make an impression before him!

So he’ll give up?

That guy Tom, who knows when they’ll meet again!

Next time, she must ask for his number!

Not far away, in the inflatable castle, Dominic Hawke was playing while watching the two adults interact.

A bright smile on his face.

Daddy just hugged Aunt Charlotte!

If he keeps finding ways for them to be alone, they’ll surely fall for each other! 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

A kid playing nearby accidentally pushed him to the ground.

With an "ouch," his mask fell off.

Outside, Elara’s gaze just swept over and saw Dominic fall, and she quickly ran over.

"Bea."

Damon had his back to the inflatable castle, and when he turned around, he too saw Dominic fallen.

His small hand was holding the mask, trying to put it back on his face.

He caught a glimpse, and it felt strangely familiar.

Damon squinted, trying to take another look, but the little guy had already put the mask back on.

"Bea, did you hurt yourself?"

Elara walked up to the inflatable castle, full of concern.

Dominic came out from inside, "Mom, I’m okay."

"Really okay? Not playing anymore?"

Elara checked the little guy’s arms and legs, relieved to see no injuries.

"I’ve played this one already, I want to try something else."

Dominic looked at Damon and Elara approaching him, "Uncle Hawke, mom, can you come with me to play bumper cars?"

Like a family of three!

"Sure."

Damon nodded and extended his hand to him.

Dominic smiled brightly, quickly placing his little hand into Damon’s warm palm, then tightly holding onto Elara’s hand.

"Mom, let’s go!"

Elara didn’t want to play; she just wanted to stay far away from someone.

But under the little guy’s bright eyes, she was pressured into it.

The three of them entered the bumper car area, with Damon and Dominic in one vehicle, and Elara in another.

As the bell rang, all the cars started moving.

Damon’s long limbs were cramped in the car, directing the little guy to drive.

Pretending inadvertently to nudge the steering wheel, aiming their car to bump into Elara’s.

In reality, Elara rarely drove; she was just a sitting duck.

Flustered, she frantically turned the steering wheel, trying to escape but kept getting hit until her car stalled.

Immediately, she stared angrily at Damon.

Damon raised a brow, feigning innocence as he pointed at Dominic, as if saying, it wasn’t my fault, your son did it!

This sly man, deliberately using the child as a tool!

But the little guy’s laughter echoed in the air, filled with excitement.

His large eyes sparkled brightly, exceptionally bright.

Alright fine!

Seeing her own son enjoying himself, she decided not to bicker with a certain childish person!

Dominic had a great time at the amusement park, and it wasn’t until nightfall that he finally stopped playing at Elara’s urging.

So happy!

He wished he could always keep playing with his dad and Aunt Charlotte!

Like a family!

"Bea, mommy needs to visit the restroom, want to come?"

Before leaving the amusement park, Elara asked.

"Mom, no need, you go ahead."

Dominic, still a little reluctant, looked at the rides.

As soon as Elara left, Damon watched the little guy’s gaze, fixated on the amusement park, squatted down.

"Want to keep playing? How about we come back next time?"

"Okay, let’s pinky promise."

Dominic nodded seriously, extending his little finger.

Fine!

Pinky promise!

Damon smiled, not embarrassed at all, matching the little guy’s actions.

Staring at the big mask on the little guy’s face, his eyes flickered.

"Bea, isn’t it stuffy wearing that mask for so long? Let Uncle help you take it off."

What does the little guy really look like?

That smooth forehead, those bright eyes, they always give him the feeling that he’s seeing his own son.

He wanted to see!

Damon’s long fingers reached for the mask.

Dominic quickly covered his mask, stepping back a bit.

"Uncle Hawke, if you want to win my mom’s heart, don’t make me take off the mask!"

He was doing it for his dad’s sake!

He was on a secret mission!
