Chapter 58: Chapter 58: It Wasn’t About the Money

Damon Hawke wore a mask and strode inside, followed closely by Chase Quinn, who had a stern expression.

"Thomas King, you called me out of bed in the middle of the night, what’s the matter?"

Henry Harris blew on the not-so-hot tea, speaking arrogantly.

"I heard that Second Uncle is planning to start his own group, congratulations in advance."

Damon Hawke sat on the mahogany chair that Chase Quinn had brought over, his straight posture exuding a natural authority.

In the Netherworld Organization, his name was Thomas King, not Damon Hawke.

Of course, aside from his mentor Andrew King, no one else knew his true identity.

"Did you call me here just to say that? If there’s nothing else, I’m going back to catch up on my sleep."

Henry Harris put down his teacup, his gaze on Damon Hawke was cold.

"Second Uncle, two people have done something wrong, I hope you’ll hand them over to me."

Damon Hawke’s long fingers tapped the table rhythmically, his voice low.

"You want people from me? Little King, don’t think just because the Netherworld Organization is under your command now, I’ll listen to you! After all, I’m your elder, I’ve walked more roads than the amount of salt you’ve eaten, weigh it yourself."

Henry Harris slammed the teacup heavily on the table, his eyes full of coldness.

Damon Hawke glanced at him, his deep dark eyes calm and steady.

"Second Uncle, you should know my temper. Someone tried to harm me before, and I crippled their limbs. I thought Second Uncle would understand. If you really anger me, considering the things you’ve done in the past, I’m sure the police would love to seek the truth."

This was a threat!

Henry Harris’s eyes shot with intense anger.

"Thomas King, if I go down, the whole Netherworld Organization won’t have it good either. Think about your mentor, the leader of the Netherworld Organization; his past isn’t exactly spotless!"

That was true.

If it wasn’t for the fear of official involvement, causing unnecessary trouble, he would have thrown this old fox into the precinct long ago.

Damon Hawke said nothing, his long fingers continuing to tap rhythmically.

What he said was merely to test Henry Harris.

Judging by his expression, it seemed the kidnapping of Charlie had nothing to do with him?

Then were those two operating on their own accord?

Who was really behind the scenes?

While pondering, there was some noise inside the residence.

A few men in black dragged two people out.

"Master, we found them."

Chase Quinn whispered in Damon Hawke’s ear.

Damon Hawke acknowledged with a nod, his eyes flickering slightly.

Before coming here, he had already instructed his people to continue investigating secretly.

Henry Harris didn’t want to hand them over, so Damon found them himself.

However, looking at the two, they were stumbling, lips purple, as if they had internal injuries.

To kidnap a child, yet they got hurt?

"Thomas King, you..."

Seeing that the two he had hidden were still found by Damon Hawke, Henry Harris immediately stood up, face pale with anger.

These were two brothers who had come seeking refuge.

If he couldn’t even protect them, what authority would he have left in the newly formed gang?

"Second Uncle, my apologies."

Damon Hawke stood up, not intending to linger.

"Stay! Come when you want and leave when you want, what do you take this place for?"

Henry Harris barked out, and the people around quickly surrounded them.

"Are you rebelling?"

Chase Quinn shielded Damon Hawke behind him, hostility emanating from his very being, vigilantly watching the surroundings.

Damon Hawke patted him on the shoulder, signaling him to step back.

"Second Uncle, I just want to borrow your people to ask a few questions. Once I’m done, they’ll naturally be returned to you."

He didn’t come here to fight with Henry Harris today.

He just wanted to find the mastermind behind everything.

"Whatever you need to ask, ask it here."

Henry Harris glared at him and said.

Damon Hawke pondered for a moment, "Alright, then please clear the people here."

Seeing Damon Hawke take a step back, Henry Harris couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

He waved his hand, signaling everyone to leave.

The young man in front of him was clearly two cycles younger, yet his aura had long surpassed his own.

If not for the fact that he had once saved his mentor’s life, he wouldn’t have dared to confront him like this.

The room quieted down, leaving only the two kidnappers on the floor.

Damon Hawke sat back on the chair, "Speak, who instructed you?"

The two kidnappers had been shocked and terrified from the moment they saw Damon Hawke.

They hadn’t expected the person catching them to be Damon Hawke.

They would rather turn themselves into the police!

"No, don’t know, we only know it’s a woman."

The leader swallowed nervously and quickly replied.

"Yes, young master King, we were just hired for the job, we did nothing else."

The second one hurriedly added, "That woman told us to kidnap the child and return him after a night. We really didn’t mean to harm him! Rather, we got hurt by him!"

"Yes, yes! Young Master King, that kid is unbelievably cunning, we don’t know what kind of bugs he threw on us, but we’re still numb in our hands and feet!"

The leader tried hard to move his limbs, desperately lamenting his misery.

Damon Hawke squinted his dark eyes, lost in thought.

A woman instructed them to kidnap Charlie?

Do nothing but return the child the next day!

What does this mean?

The person behind this wasn’t after money! 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

Then what was her purpose...

Damon Hawke’s cold gaze fell on the two, his voice deep, "Did she send you the money?"

If not for money, it was for someone!

A woman, targeting someone specifically...

"Yes, she did!"

"Account number!"

A few minutes later.

"Master, it’s an overseas account, under the name Storm Warren. After investigation, this is a former name, the account holder’s real name locally is Isabella Wolf, she’s... Victoria Don’s biological mother."

Chase Quinn reported the findings to Damon Hawke.

Damon Hawke’s entire demeanor darkened, a bloodthirsty chill playing at the corners of his lips.

This was unexpected.

He had considered it might be someone with a grudge against Elara Don!

But he hadn’t expected it to be Victoria Don’s mother!

Damon Hawke’s presence was intimidating, rising and striding away.

The brothers on the ground were just about to breathe easy when they heard Damon Hawke’s cold voice.

"Break their hands."

The brothers gasped sharply.

"Young Master King, spare us! We’ve already been punished! Ah!"

Their screams echoed, but Damon Hawke turned a deaf ear, his aura cold and terrifying.

If not for his son’s safety, if not for the fact his son had already dealt with them, he would have made them wish they were dead!

"Thomas King, you’re really not giving me any face."

Outside, seeing Damon Hawke deal with the brothers, Henry Harris growled in anger.

"Second Uncle, if I weren’t giving you face, they wouldn’t just have broken a pair of hands."

Damon Hawke spoke coldly, not pausing, striding away.

Behind him, Henry Harris glared at his back, his old eyes full of cold light.

Who exactly did these two brothers kidnap?

To make this young rascal handle it personally?

the Don Family.

Victoria Don sat on the sofa, tearfully crying to the Don family couple.

"Dad, Mom, I really hate Elara Don too much. I just wanted her to take responsibility, so I had someone kidnap Dominic Hawke. Now that things have blown up, Damon Hawke has probably already found the kidnappers. What should I do now?"
